  • Using RR Cirkits to drive the signals from Details West and Show Case Miniatures. We traverse down Saluda mountain with 2 SD45’s.

    Really cool set up man...
    Especially the speed limit detection block for the runaway safety track switch. Nice detail to realism of prototypical operational practices and safety protocols and procedures of that line. Very nice

    Very nice. I'm not very familiar with how SOU designed their signal system on Saluda grade. Neat idea about the run away track timing! Is that how the prototype did it?
    Also, will you eventually interlock the switch inside each OS to the lined route?
    Lastly, did the passing sidings on Saluda all have point derails at each end?

      Yes that’s how the prototype was. I’ll have to get back to you on the interlocking. And yes the passing sidings had the details on both ends
