  • Installing 12 KC HiLites Cyclones on a Jeep Wrangler on this weeks upload! - Apologies now for the long video but I've had many many questions about my rock set and how I mounted and wired all my cyclones. I have been letting you guys know that I have a whole set of them that I am wiring up to Mark's Jeep. Well its finally here, we wired them all!
    It took 3 different days to do them, we started with the Cyclones in the rock sliders that also double as puddle lights when the doors are open. Then we tapped into the back LED lights already on the Jeep for some reverse lights. Then the final day, and it was sooo hot out, we finished up with rock lights on the front fenders and bumper.
    This Jeep is so bight at night and everything around it can be seen very good.

    Nice work with the 3 way switches, love the added functionality. I've had a few of these kicking around, might be time to get them wired in!

    So glad I have DCS rock lights. I forgot how much of a pain it is to wire normal rock lights. The dcs lights go in existing frame holes so no drilling and it hides the wires. Plus it’s all just plug and play which is nice for the people like me who suck at wiring

      Haha. Wiring is the thing im good at.. well.. frustrates me the least lol.

    Very cool install...I have a similar setup using these little beauties for all kinds of stuff.... Use little 30#magnets for each one that can be bought on Amazon.... Great mounting options and no welding\drilling needed 🤙

    So how has the magnet mounting solution worked for you? Have any shifted during off-roading? I like the idea of not drilling. Thanks.

    • @Casey250
      @Casey250  4 года назад +1

      My front bumper ones can shift around but honestly it isn't and issue.

    Based on your video I picked these up. I noticed they get really hot fairly quickly. I had another idea for more lights, but would be mounted on plastic. Since these lights get so hot, would you recommend the lights installed on plastic? Would I need to add another material to act as a heat shield buffer?

    You could’ve spent one more second to show the people who watched your video for however long I fell asleep what it looks like with the lights on that’s what we’re here to the see .

    When wiring the lights to functions as courtesy and rock lights, does using the 3way switch prevent you from having to add relays and diodes? I’m worried about back-feed, don’t want to fry any electronics.

    • @Casey250
      @Casey250  5 лет назад

      Yes it does, as neither circuit comes in connection with the other because of the 3 way switch. It really would be zero effort to wire in a diode but I don't see the need to. If you check out my video on how to make cyclones into turn signals and running lights, I had to use diodes to prevent back feed of the circuits, but that is completely different.

      Casey 250 you have just made my life so much easier! I’m gonna use the 6 light set as courtesy lights and have not been able to figure out for the life of me the best way to do it. Using the 3way switch will make life a whole lot easier!

    I've heard these lights die out / drop LEDs for a lot of people. Nervous to purchase.

    • @Casey250
      @Casey250  5 лет назад +2

      I can't say that I have looked for a lot of stories of people having problems. I did have one of my 18 that i've installed lose a single LED, and KC sent me a replacement, as all their products have a 23yr warranty. My lights take a lot of water and mud abuse. Thats my experience so far with running then for a couple years.

      I popped the plastic piece off below the steering wheel and put some holes in it and popped the switches in.

      @@Casey250 I checked out a few of your other videos of the KC lights install on your jeep and it showed the 3 way switches. I just picked up my jeep and started making videos. Always looking for the "right" way to do the mods. Awesome job by the way! You just got a new subscriber!

      I actually went with the “A series” by rigid industries for my dome lights
      How come you didn’t go with rigid ?
