Great video. On point with these tips. People dont realize how much they can do with a stock rubicon with a winch. Love your descriptions on level 8, 9 , and 10. Lol.

Pretty good order. 1st gas tank armor, 2nd belly armor, 3rd rocks sliders, 4th Synergy heavy duty steering uprade, 5th Carli front diff rock smasher, 6th Carli front 4" lift fox shocks, 6th front wench + recovery yankem then all the lights. I am not a jeeper I run a Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 2004 with 137k miles on it. I have had all U joints replaced, drive shafts redbuilt and many more goodies, solar ect. Love my truck !

I would add protection and bumpers for level one in addition to what you mentioned. Keep in mind, at 37s, you may need to regear to 488 to be more factory feel, calibrate the computer for 37" tires, then you need to adjust the drive shaft because it's going to be at the wrong angle

A fun video! Going out even overlanding I’d recommend armor at level 1. To keep weight down for overlanding go with aluminum. With bigger tires you will need regearing for sure. I haven’t yet, 35s on stock Sport gears and you feel it. My two recommendations.

If I already had a Wrangler the 2024 4xe would have been level 10 > 1 for me. The Power Box is a game changer, imo. It's the feature that convinced me to finally upgrade from my 98 4Runner. I'd been looking hard at Ford's Pro Power Onboard, but i wanted more than a regular hybrid, but full EVs don't seem to be ready for towing. So far as i can tell the 4xe is the only PHEV with such a feature as the Power Box or Pro Power Onboard.
That said, a video on the best accessories to use the four AUX switches in the Rubicon would be helpful. And now that I've thought about it time to go search it up to see if it's been done.

Before you start upgrading determine what kind of off road travel and where you are primarily doing it.
#1. fully maintained vehicle. Not fun breaking down out in the middle of nowhere. #2. Not going out alone. Best insurance to getting out of trouble. #3 Recovery gear; straps, soft shackles, frame mounted recovery points.

Very well thought out and very well explained.
I like the focus on performance-based decisions, instead of "the look" based decisions. Every Jeep forum and video seems to be about "the look."
I didn't hear anything about regearing in the lower levels, but maybe I missed it. With tires 2-4" taller than stock, one needs to regear.
I also think portals need a mention at levels above 8.
Any discussion of rooftop tents needs to come with a serious admonishment about excess weight and weight up high. A rooftop tent drops the vehicle's capability a couple levels. They waddle through every trail and obstacle because of the weight up high. Yeah, watch them, they waddle.

Casey, Another Great Video! You showed it, but maybe I didn’t catch it. A good phone holder should be in level one…And that Winch in level one will get you out of whatever trouble you might find yourself in after all the other mods of levels 1-9…I have to disagree on skid plates…there’s a lot of money on the Gladiator Diesels that is left exposed…It’s better to spend $1600 on skids than the 5k starter price of everything the skids protect (Engine oil pan, trans pan, DPF system) Def tank might not be 5k but was told an ecodiesel long block is about $18k.

okI agree with all but at 7 I really think it's time to think about recovery gear and compressor and some basic tools, because if we are lone driver rockcrawler or overlander it's time to be prepared (emgtrauma kit too).. Buper fender winch tire size are good point but depend in wich country you live and local law (in europe must all in the paper and inspected , I mean all like tire winch bumper snorkel wide fender and so onn wheight increase too) my 2 cent

haha, I didn't know that the spare tire with no rubber was a thing in BC. It is all over the place here in Ontario. Doesn't make any sense at all.

Thanks for the video. I really enjoyed it and think it’s a good model for many to follow. Of course, no matter how you laid this out, you’d have people who disagree.
For me, I wonder if the rock crawler/overland split should happen earlier in the stages. A 12v fridge was an early game changer and great with a stock rig.
My experience is definitely not even close to yours and my rig is not even close to complete.
Stage 1 for me was a front bumper and winch.
Stage 2: Aux battery, air compressor
stage 3: 12v fridge and roof rack. (I camp with my wife and kids so I needed the cargo capacity the rack gives me.
I’m still rocking stock 33” tires but will be upgrading to 35s soon. I’m not sure what will be after that. Perhaps a 2.5” lift. Thoughts?

So should you change the bumper first? Because you need somewhere to put the winch ha ha
