The notes above might contains affiliate links, which means that if you click one and happen to buy something awesome, I’ll receive a small commission...but it costs you no more; it actually comes out of the product seller's pocket as a marketing expense. Thank you for the support!
Of course it's different strokes for different folks, so WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE mod/accessory that you've added to your ride? Mine probably had to be the Trektop NX Twill, which I unfortunately had to swap our for a hardtop when I started overlanding and "living" in my Jeep!
The Nomad Experiment hey question I have a Jeep and I’d like to use my aux and that USB port but It plays the music through usb connection and not the aux and It always ends up messing up. Any suggestions
@@mattjax1330 Sorry man. Unfortunately that's above my pay grade. (I mean, I have not clue!) Anyone else have an idea for Matt?
Get a new stereo I recommend the Insane audio jk2001. it is $1,000 but well worth it if you want to watch Netflix as you drive.... Or do snapchat.
I’m ordering those Rugged Ridge window shields. I live in Miami and rainy season is brutal. ..and the heat guard. Thank you, much appreciated as a woman customizing my own Jeep. It’s my 2nd but now I’m in a 4door🤘🏼♥️
The best accessory I am trying to add is a big breasted girl to my ride. The problem is, they are more expensive than my jeep...
Rule #1 WAVE BACK
That's one thing I've noticed as a new Jeep owner....Jeep owners are a special breed. The majority wave just cause you have a jeep. Friendly bunch.
Was a rule to wave but with so many jeeps on the road now I've stooped. Can't be waving every 5 minutes, it's become annoying
Exactly
I found out about then when I went down south. Where I live you rarely seen jeeps (wranglers specifically) driving around so it wasn't common. One thing I find to be a problem is some tint their windows so much you don't notice till you've already gone past
Tony Villegas I don’t know what part of the south you live in, but I drive past anywhere from 10-20 jeeps daily. Don’t really think it’s a hassle to wave at them because you’re just sticking a few fingers up or lifting your hand out the window and it’s not a real distraction from driving
Can I replace my top, JL wrangler, for a slanted top like you have? Really like it
sharon mcmann-morelli yes I believe best top sales the slanted/fast back style soft top for the JL for around $600.
Ouch! That windshield crack! LOL!
Are you going to fix that crack in the windshield....
Great built!
What size tiers are you running and what’s your total cost of Jeep mods so far?
TheScoobysnack08 they look like 35s
I spent every penny I had in my savings for my wrangler. Can’t really spend any money of modifications “right away”
Rule number 1, ignore these idiots who bash the choices other make because they don't align with their own.
Good on ya!
Spends $3500 on bumpers, doesn't fix cracked windshield.
It's a Jeep thing
The wind angle is a rock lover
Drew Ficalora No its not! On Jeep #5, no cracked windscreens- but do own my own home, geez!!
Why would you? If you're in a frequent ding zone, I wouldn't do it either. Otherwise, I'll replace my windshield every 2-3 months. Let him be and spend in capital on what he finds useful to himself.
Mark Green can you make d a windshield....
Psssh! Rule one should be stop buying the frowning headlight kit....
Why do people hate angry eyes? I think people just love the original jeep iconic grill. I like the angry jeep looks. I like the massive hard edged bumpers and lights etc. Anything to make it look like a stealth secret military vehicle on a mission xD
Don't wanna drive anything that looks pissed off...not me
@@robertallen6710 lol
@@bobbobbinson1841 I like the angry jeep look also. I also like the iconic look. Its different strokes for different folks through my eyes. Dont understand the ridicule.
Big FACTS.
Rule number one. By what you can afford, especially when you have a house payment and two kids going to college.
If thats the case, why would you buy a jeep in the first place? Buy a Toyota, and the money you save on repairs you would need for the jeep, you could send a third kid through college!
John Mackens 🙏🏼 amen!
Make the kids pay for their own college. Then get the better Jeep.
Indrid Cold better jeep? As in the grand cherokee right? Since any wranglers got a score of 2/5 reliability.
@@RCGJR_ The JKs and JL Wranglers are, indeed, lacking in reliabilty. They are over engineered and it is showing in the drop of Jeep Wrangler's reliabilty rate. The legacy Jeeps are still going very strong and have not been produced since 2006. I do not trust anything with the automatic engine stop and start design flaw. I repair way too many vehicles that have the origin of the issues in that horrible automatic engine stop and start design flaw. The JKs did not have that ridiculous design flaw. But the engine is always throwing error codes. I am surprised the JK and JL are not rated 1 out of 5 for reliabilty. The JK and the JL are not the super tough, supernaturally reliable, legacy Jeeps of the past. Then again, nothing Jeep makes is the super tough, supernaturally reliable legacy Jeeps of the past. I have an old YJ, a TJ, and a JKU. You can guess which one has the absolute most problems out of all of them. I will give you a clue. It has the lowest mileage out of all of them as well.
RULE #1 . .when removing your doors...the retainer strap is the LAST thing that you disconnect..... help save you from the infamous Jeep Cowl Dent
I was looking at a JK on a dealer lot. It had the cowl dent on both sides of the Jeep. So when I was checking it out. The retainer straps were not on their respective hooks. Someone let the doors flap on BOTH sides and the rear view mirror on the door hits the Jeep on that little cowl piece and dents it. Lesson learned for when I get my own!
rule #1 move out west so you can use it!
Rule number 1: buy a manual Jeep not automatic .
Axceusbays what? 😂 for any heavy offroad use, you’re going to want an automatic.
2:40 BEST MOD: new windshield
The Deer boom roasted
#1 rule of owning a Jeep Wrangler, whether YJ, TJ, Jk, or JL, love your Jeep. Do not like it. No not enjoy it. Love your Jeep above anything else in your life, save maybe immediate family. Your Jeep is your friend that will never do you wrong. Love your Jeep enough to do all your own modifications, upgrades, and repairs on it. Love your Jeep enough to never let anybody else wrench on it without you or never to let anybody wrench on it at all, save you. Love your Jeep enough to protect it all the time and let your Jeep protect you. Love your Jeep enough to keep it as long as possible. A decade of ownership should not be unheard of. My personal aim is to own the 1997 Wrangler Sport I bought new for the rest of my life. "Windi," is my love, my life, my dream come true. I will never betray her.
Indrid Cold got my dads old 2008 jk, my goals to keep it till it dies
@@corbinwarner2919 After it dies, there are thousands of aftermarket kits and parts to rebuild it. There is a kit to put a 5.7 liter Hemi V8 in JKs. There are many transmissions that will go behind a Hemi as well. I think even the stock JK transmission will go nicely behind a JK for awhile. You can build just about any Jeep, "universal," from catalogue parts from nothing. You can keep that Jeep for as long as you want, even after the engine lets go or something else happens. Jeep, "Universals," are infinitely supported with aftermarket parts from 1941 to present. Right now, the transmission in my aging Jeep Wrangler TJ is grinding when I shift gears. The original transmission is no longer produced because New Venture Gear went defunct a few years back and original parts are almost out. However, there is no fear. There is an aftermarket transmission for aging TJs made with Toyota interior parts called the Terminator AX-15. Toyota will never be out of business and so my vintage TJ will go on forever.
I agree my Jeep saved my life. I love working on it. People walk up and admire I am not used to that. When the motor and transmission goes out what else would you do upgrade mod. Ha.V8 Hell Cat Hemi I like the Mercedes transmission but I will upgrade the upgrade. I installed a homemade dual cold air turbo/ram air intake and removed the muffler dual exhaust didn't stay long before I made my own so pushing some good horse power bout 475hp I think I surprise some people at red lights.
@@scottpemberton9112 I couldn’t agree more about except my Jeep saved my life in a different way! I found myself heading down the wrong road in life ... the street life and unfortunately drugs. Lasted 6 months , I got my Jeep and worked on it non stop! Needless to say I got sober , with the money I spent on drugs I spent on my ‘18 Willys Jk and it occupied my time where I didn’t have a craving! Some people may not agree with being so public but maybe one day my story will help another person who is headed down the same path I was!! It’s a Jeep thing .... most don’t understand!! ❤️❤️
Buy a TJ and avoid all these problems.
Right on !
Hahahaaa
I don’t want to give up my heated, powered side mirrors just to have a set of $350 mirrors on it year round.
Why do side mirrors need heating?
@@teufelhunden8308 well, if not important about heated, they are motored adjustment
@@teufelhunden8308 if you lived somewhere northern or midwest, your mirrors freeze with at least 1/8 inch of ice sometimes, so any time except summer its useful
I guess don't but them then? I live in northern Michigan and 30 sec with a scraper has worked for my whole life... I lose my mirrors with my doors and occasionally get pulled over for it, so seeing an option beyond the unpowered windshield mounts was pretty cool.
Rule # 1 Just Empty Every Pockets!
Problem #1 upgrades are EXPENSIVE
People have literally crossed the Darian Gap in bone stock Jeeps. If there is someplace you can’t get to in your stock Rubicon, you probably don’t need to go there.
See “ The Road Chose Me”.
Adding things to your wrangler can be cool to look at but don’t add anything unless you plan on using it.
Take it from someone who has been a jeep tech for 26 years. Lifting, installing big tires and bolting a heavy winch look cool but they add extra stress to your jeeps powertrain and electrical system.
So think about what you add before adding it.
Take in mind 07- 18 model wranglers are pretty much glorified mini vans. They have the same engines and a transmission that only holds 7 qts of fluid so it doesn’t take much to over stress it.
My advice is to pay off these overpriced vehicles first before you modify. Don't give into the pressure to have the biggest tires and wheels straight away or you'll get yourself into trouble. Modifying can be addictive and it's very expensive.
This! Thank you! 0% down financing + tax title license and dealer fees = underwater. Add in a previous vehicle payoff, depreciation and $5k in upgrades and you're sinking. Hope ya have good gap insurance.
Agreed! Just remember Jeep stands for Just Empty Every Pocket! I’d recommend to pay it off before any upgrades! If not you’ll also take the risk of a voided warranty! Take your time and just learn and study what you want to do while you pay it off! Then you’ll have a lifetime of MODS to do!!
Jeep wave! And we kept our jk stock.
To hang my doors I purchase two steel ladder hooks for each door, and they cost me about three dollars apiece!
Rule number 1: don’t waste your money on any of that mall-crawler junk until you invest in the real parts!
-axle swaps
-ring and pinions
-lockers
-long arm kit
-coil-overs
-hydro assist
-bead locks
-etc...
bajabilly2004 that’s the whole point of the wrangler...
Bryan Worthen true.
Just screenshotted this lol
I just bought my first Jeep. It's used so I have no idea if it has any of this stuff. It's lifted and has big knobby tires and light bar. Whoever had it before me swapped out the factory Sahara shocks for Rubicon ones and it has Rubicon wheels. How can I tell if it already has lockers and axle swaps etc?
Indeed
Plastic diamond plate stick on screams mall parking lot protection
$3500 for your bumpers?? i choked when you said that. WAY too much. I've got a poison spyder front and LOD tire carrier rear (not cheap stuff) and together they cost about $2000. $3500 - jezus...
If they're aluminum, thats worth it.
Glad I got a LJ. Bumpers are WAY cheaper
For "all the sleeping in the Jeep" he does, would have been better off with some Smittybilt XRC bumpers and a roof top tent setup and still come out under $3500. These "upgrades" are a joke. Hopefully people don't take this video seriously for functional upgrades for a JK.
I bought my smittybuilt front and rear barricade bumpers for under 650$. Just because it’s expensive, doesn’t mean that it’s better! No hate, I’d rather save money and have the same amount of protection rather than spending over 3000$.
There are only 3 rules for wrangler owners. 1. Never lower a Jeep. 2. NO CHROME! 3. Make it your own
The wave back comments did not disappoint! Thanks jeeperz
👋🏾✌🏾💪🏾
Don't forget about lockable storage, especially since you have less space with that top. They make a lot of storage options for jeeps. 👍
Rule no.1 - Make sure you have a lotttta extra monies to spend
if that doesn't apply, buy a lotto ticket every weekend and hope to win lotto for your Wrangler upgrades.
I’ve been a wrangler guy most of my life,as you know it’s not a good fit for every one.But some of us love them till the end of time.your right about mods , Jeep owners can be so different but so so much alike in the Jeep world , my doors come off the end of May and return around October. Side note....I live in New York State Mohawk valley area so you know our weather can be iffy! When needed My wife has a liberty, and I also have a pickup, kids are grown I’ll be 70 in July and I’ll always have a 2 door wrangler.....without doors all summer.....
Michigan doesn’t have salt water. the Great Lakes are fresh water.......... smfh...
Rule #1 Jeeps are supposed to be manual shift. Just kidding. I like some of your mod$
I've had my jeep for 4 months now and love the jeep life so much!
Rule# 1, I'm poor and live paycheck to paycheck like 80% of the population, can't afford upgrades.
Cool. Just installed my $1000 sun rider 🤬
i’m OBSESSED WITH THIS COLOR in thinking of getting a paint job on my 2000 TJ and i was wondering what color i should ask for to get this one its BEAUTIFUL
Anvil. 2015. Fact check me though! I'm going off memory haha!
Wait ... I do wave back but just to wrangler owners.
That's not a Jeep that's a Fiat
I know i'm gonna get hate for this.
Rule #1 - Buy a real wrangler, like a YJ or TJ. Preferably YJ.
Nice jeep man! The door garage mounts are pretty slick!!
The first thing I thought was "Cool, someone else who does the pull-over and connect the hammock from the Jeep to something...thing!". It's the little things in life! :)
I guess you find your self sleeping in there often after the all the repair costs I could afford my rent either
Jeep=Just empty every pocket
I clicked on this for laughs, figuring it was gonna be completely stupid and nonsensical like most videos with titles like this. I'm def pleasantly surprised! Great advice, and a cool showcase of cool products to go with it. I've been building the same Jeep for 17 years (I bought it when I was 15), and I love it!
Grandmama seatcovers. Lol
what is the brand of bike rack you have mounted on the spare tire?
No answer for the bike rack? I saw this video a while ago. I’ve been looking for that bike rack since can’t find one . HELP
Wave to the Cherokee drivers.
XJ owners are Jeep too.
I want those mirror relocate but I feel they’re overpriced
Best mod on my Jeep. Absolutely worth it when it comes to safety
I'm on my 5th Jeep Wrangler. This is my favorite and the best! I hated my 4dr. Really don't like the changes made to them after '06. My Jeep was hard to find, '05 Rubicon Unlimited 💜
Tjs are the best wrangler
@@JeepTJWheelin Cjs aren't a wrangler
@@JeepTJWheelin no were talking wranglers
Jeep is not for everyday commute. You need another car to commute on daily basis.
That is sooo true!!! I love my Willys Jk but not as my daily driver!! I love to take my baby out for a day of fun in the sun or out on the trails!!
Hi
What serie is this wrengler ? Year? Thanks
Interesting Mods, enjoyed your video, Bought myself a 2011 2 door sport a few weeks ago, it's a load of fun, Long time off roader Toyota series 80, 22 years, Howdy from Goulburn N.S.W Austraila (I'm not a G'day person)
“You can buy all of these upgrades for under $1000.... the bumpers are $3500”
nice jeep, do you have a lift kit? what tires and wheels are you using? thx
Let me just pull some more money out of my ass
Hey what’s that lift and tire package? Doesn’t look like it’s up high, but looks good with those tires
Your rig rocks man fun to watch!! Love the fastback soft top -gives it an aggressive look! Is the jeep lifted ?what size tires and rims are you running?
You should have bought one with a manual trans
Great video!!!!! Live the hammock!
Went to hard top needed back window
This guy is can be found at the mall.
Rule #1, get a manual
you wish That’s Rule 2, Rule 1 is drive a Jeep, a 2 door 😂. All my buddies own modified 4 doors, and I can wheel a stock 2 door everywhere they go... then again, I’m a better wheeler than they are 😉🤣
Not a real deal breaker, i can drive manual but i enjoy letting the trans do the work for me anymore.
No
Dam right
Good video; like all the upgrades, with the exception of those goofy beads on your seat. Those are for old Asian ladies.
First upgrade should be steel tube doors if you’re taking your doors off. That is unless you don’t value your left leg or your passengers right!
"under $1K... Bumpers are $3K" what?
I love my 2015 JK, I just wish it wasn't a Chrysler/Fiat product. Worst car company in the world.
Really really liked your video. I'll be getting a few of these items based on your recommendations for my '17 JKU. Quick couple questions. Who makes the dash cubby insert, and what tires/ lift are you running ? I've got the same wheels and about to get new tires. I like your setup. Thanks.
~~ Mike
I was just flipping through my quadratec catalogue and eyeing those exact mirrors lol. Wish they weren't quite so pricey, but they for sure seem handy as all get out! Also, SUPER nice jeep man!
Rule number 1.. change that fencing sword antenna to a stubby rubber antenna. So it doesn’t get caught on stuff when you off-road. Unless you’re a mall crawler
A lot of Toyota fans saying to just buy a Toyota. 3.6L JK and JL will rack up miles without any issues which I’ve experienced firsthand as an owner. And a Jeep unlimited will out perform a taco on the rocks. Jeep is the standard for rock crawling and trail capability. There’s a reason why it’s called the Rubicon Trail, and not the TRD/Tacoma trail. And this thing ain’t expensive compared to a Duramax or Cummings that a lot of people drive lifted without using what’s it’s truly purposed for which is towing.
Always a good idea to slap a bunch of shit on your jeep without having any idea its limits stock.
He's made that Jeep worse. Stock gearing, stock axles running larger wheels, no lockers, and all that added weight on the front and rear end via the steel bumpers. No d rings or winch hook for recovery (he doesn't strike me as the kind of guy to keep a recovery kit so I'm gonna be an ass and assume that winch is purely for aesthetic purposes and probably dons a badlands brand plate). Really hoping folks don't take this video as "things an actual overlander or offroader should do.
@@Bearleaux I'm not an overland guy. However i completely agree. Recovery gear before winch. If you don't know how to save yourself with a shovel, a couple buddies and a come-a-long a winch is an accessory not a recovery tool.
People have no clue how capable these things are out of the box. Good tires and some steel wheels will take you quite the distance even without lockers and disconnected sway bars.
Rule #1 dont call your jeep a truck
the garage door storage mounts were great & love the bumpers not the price, but goes to personal add on look & function feature but there r cheaper bumper options.
Thanks for the info. Very helpful on how I do my wife’s Jeep Wrangler x 3.8.
First, get rid of that crappy factory radio. You can get a nice touch screen with android auto for $300.
$3500 bumpers but $300 shittybuilt winch!
You wont see me on the road because I’ll be on the trails!
I drive a big truck & the mirrors dont bother me. That just goes to show you the difference between men & Snowflakes when it comes to mirrors.
That’s one of the nicest Jeep’s I’ve seen nice job
Appreciate it!
Nice jeep opinions are like assholes everybody has one I drive a 46 Willys for 40 years I have a place in Moab we should get together

Hey Jason! do you have a video/recommendations on your bungee cord storage in the back? i love the setup
Here is the thing they break constantly and cost thousands to keep them going properly
Fran Mitch I agree. Still love my jeep, but it's still a Chrysler
Rule number 1 never put stickers on your vehicle
Hi. You did not mention the company where you bought the insert for the phone for the cubby. Please share. Thanks.
I was just going to ask that!
Looks like you got different flooring on your jeep for when you're sleeping in it? What are those
I can’t stand these new age dushebag jeep people. Just makes me vomit 🤢.
This guy makes me think of Dane Cook doing a jeep wrangler review
Hi Jason! Not a bad $1K or under list.
I got the same exact soft top. Thanks to this video.
How are the Quadratec side mirrors after many years? Do they still spring back to the original position? Would you still recommend them? Thanks.
Thanks for the kind words. Side mirrors are pretty much like new after almost 7 years now. Expensive investment, but worth it IMO.
Maybe fix the giant crack in your windshield before buying 20k worth of mods?
Lady H. Wotton 😃
V8 swap, as soon as you get a Jeep don't do anything to it, just start saving for an engine swap
Gun box
Rule#1
He doesn’t even wheel his bank owned Jeep
Man I really , really loved ALL of your upgrades , but sorry dude , you did miss the # 1 thing about Jeep !!! Real men , in Real Jeep always have a standard shift !!! Nice Jeep but once I seen the auto trans , I thought it belonged to your wife !!!! LMBO!!! Just pick in’ at ya , REAL JEEP PEEP’S , UNDERSTAND !!!
I love cicadas. I love jeeps.
I love riding around with no doors in cicada season!

Nice Jeep but ditch the neoprene seat covers. That’s why your goods are getting hot. Neoprene does not breath. There are better seat cover options.
I have been looking for some good ones. Any suggestions?
