Have loved the work you've carried out on the Spyder to bring it back to life, have gained so much more from you tech talks and repairs that you have carried out on many bikes. Keep up the great job. Pete Thomson: Newcastle Australia
When you know your stuff, everyone KNOWS that you know. Simple BUT effective. You are truly worth you weight in gold. The old twin sounds like she's in business to do business. Stay safe and keep your scuba gear handy. Lol
I'd like to believe every Tech is as thorough and passionate as you are, but I know it isn't so. Funny how even though I don't own a Spyder, I just love listening to you explain things on them. Happy Fri-Yay Eve! Lol! Peace and love.
Peals of wisdom’s. Gotta love em, thanks. In 20 years of working in the car business, my favorite place to hang out was our service department. Learns a lot from those guys over the years! Turned out, at the 1st dealer I worked at (Infiniti)
I have the same extraction set mine are from snap on ,the grommets I like to use a bit of hand soap or a dab of Vaseline and they slip right in with no fight.
Don't have a Can-Am product but just listening to you explain the do's and don'ts are always interesting and I always learn something. Hopefully you'll get some more rides in before the J.D. starts calling you. Snow in the N.E. mostly gone. The bikes are getting that grin going. 😁😁. 👍👍🏍🏍🏍🙋♂️
For some reason I could smell the bike running as you described the bike after firing it up. It is amazing how you can make things interesting 🤔. Hey, I still need to do myself a favor and try out a R nineT. Will let you know what I think about them after a test ride.
Yes she lives! 👏 Man Smoak is cooking it today…..love and I mean love the tech talk today👌👌 One if the best Spyder tech talk videos….thank you so much, the Spyder community is better for these videos. Can’t wait to she the Spyder rolling down the street 👍
The service manager had many of his family working there. As it turned out I went to High school with many of them. What a great group of people. I knew at least 5 people in the service managers family. His daughter was absolutely brilliant young lady. Sara went to a local gifted private school and got a degree in automotive engineering. She got an internship at Rolls Royce when she was out of college. Hope she is doing well. Cute kid and smart as a Wip!!! 👍🏻 still see her uncle around town and his wife. They have a whole Army of kids (like 6), heck I’ve known Ben since he was a teenager. My local dealer told me to stay away from those older Spider’s (990 v twins). He knew I was looking for a used one. That’s why I got the 2021 F-3S, it only had 705 miles on it. Can you tell I was a salesman? Holy cow this is a long post. I talk a lot. 👍🏻 gift of gab I guess.
Great video. TY! Working on a 990 is a lost art. Wish you were closer by to help my issue. I have a 2013 990, 6k miles with a check engine light P1171 code, which is lean bank 1. I did the easy stuff. changed fuel, fuel filter Did the side plug. No help. Seems like its running on one cylinder or with little power. Backfires changing gears... I know I need to check the second plug, o2 sensor, injectors... Would love to hear your opinion on this. Thanks Shawn & Kelly.
Hello I own a 2012 can- Spyder rs 990 and just recently as I was riding my red park brake light came in an on the screen pops up brake failure now it comes on when I'm powering it up?? Will I be in able to stop or should I not ride until it gets fixed, we have checked all the fluids and everything is topped off .
If fluids are okay, and brake pressure is fine, it could be a brake fluid level sensor failure... If so, it should be safe to ride, but that's a personal choice you'll have to make for your own safety. If you have an RT, you can pull the trouble code number(s) while the key is on and failure is active by pushing the "Mode", "Set" and "turn signal cancel" buttons at the exact same time. It can be trick to hit all three buttons, but keep trying, the LCD screen will turn blank and show all active trouble codes. Take a photo or write the codes down and google them. The codes are universal between autos and bikes... Thanks Nean!! 👍
