I could never understand why pot of greed was banned as a kid... now as an adult who has played magic the gathering, I understand the value of digging for answers in a sixty card deck. Digging for two in a 40 card deck? It is quite big
Plus, unlike Magic which tempers deployment with Mana, Yuhioh doesn't have resources of the same kind. That is what makes Pot of Greed go from pretty good to broken
4:00- I think is just for you don't shuffle copies of itself by it's own effect, then start a infinite loop. Konami was afraid to create a second fiber jar😨
I guess the purpose of desire is let's say u use pot of greed but u still only draw garnetts in your hand. Desire can probably wipe any chance to draw garnetts but it could also hurt u too
Ur yugioh videos are the freaking best. I have 2 interesting requests. 1. of course have "Judgement Meter" she's amazing. 2. Make a video involves top ten best female yugioh monsters ( even if cards like dark magician girl is getting #1 lol)❤
To reiterate on why Pot of Greed is banned, it also has to do with how it limits deckbuilding. If it were Limited (as in, one copy is allowed per deck), then _everyone_ would just slap one copy of it into their deck due to how free it is. Then _everyone_ would by default have 39 card decks instead of 40 card decks. Because turning one draw into two draws is never a bad thing. Or in semi-frequent cases, turning one draw into an instant forced negate pop from your opponent is never a bad thing. And I guess I can see a _few_ fringe scenarios where PoG isn't entirely beneficial, such as excavating your deck and looking for monster cards. Imagine a Pot of Greed stopping Yami's Berserker Soul moment deadshort. But those moments are so few and far between that they don't necessarily outweigh its sheer effect on deckbuilding. For comparison, Upstart Goblin, a card that draws only one card and _gives your opponent 1,000 Life Points,_ is just barely Limited (at least in the TCG) and has stayed as such for the longest time. Removing it's only drawback and doubling its gains? Too much for the game.
I really enjoyed this list - it gave commentary and also discussed the cards functions and history in the TCG! I know that doesn't fit some of your other videos, but I still enjoyed it
One, I feel like this video should have been done on the 20th... second, Pot of Acquisitiveness was really good to side in against ABC decks when they were meta, since it stopped the tag out dead and drew you a card, and could always be done in response.
Its not just that pot of greed is a +1, that is definitely part of it. The other part is that it is so universally useful in every deck that every deck would have to use however many copies were legal which limits deck building.
Not only that but exodia players tend to ruin any cards that let you draw for any cost. Or rather people that just want to do FTK shenanigans in general. If a card like Chicken game or Upstart Goblin can't even be trusted, there's absolutely no way anyone will be allowed to play with pot of greed again.
