Hi guys! This episode contains some topics that people might find distressing. We touch on clothing size disparity, body dysmorphia, weight gain and loss, and other general health issues. Additionally, if any comments were made that you may find distressing or feel are a reflection on you, please know nothing we have said is ever intended to be from a place of judgement to our audiences. We are talking from our own personal experiences, and within the context of a group of friends shooting the s*** with one another. Thanks for understanding, and hope you enjoy the podcast! :)
I am fat and I recently got a weight loss surgery done to loose weight because I could not loose weight naturally. And now I have lost 35 KG. Talking about weight should not be taboo, its a topic every overweight person goes through, in my opinion.
@@newbee1994 I don't think it's so much as it being a taboo topic. More that weight loss is a complex experience that can carry a lot of trauma for people that can be triggering. So it's worthwhile to put a little warning so people can make that informed decision as to whether they want to watch/ listen or if they'll for now. Congratulations on your weight loss though, genuinely.
Hi Ellis, Cath and the gang! Thank you so so much for the shoutout in Pod #9. I usually listen on my daily commute as a worker drone. Stories about Ellis..... - I'll have to dig a few out. But for now if I remember correctly it was always wize not to talk to Ellis before 10am - it took him a little to time to get started in the morning and could be a tiny bit grumpy (too many late night gaming sessions perhaps?) but always fun though. He had some great catch phrases - the best of all (and one which I occasionally use to this day) was "oh Ball Bags!!!!!!". Usually when his pc crashed, something went wrong or the name of user who annoyed him appeared on caller display on his desk phone (most users lol). Dinosaur impressions around the office (although that may of been me?) Cath loved that one. Going for a McDonalds because the meal at a prestigious doo in the Celtic Manor was tiny? - Great attire that night (Black tie event - Ellis came very smart in a steam punk inspired getup - complete with pocket watch) Keep up the great work all - loving the content! and 1million subs incoming?
i have to say its good to see nick appear more and more he goes from an editors to a full member at this point ive seen him in a bunch of clips where he's in there like the funny moments so excited to see what else happens with nick
I used to be sitting with my girlfriend on the couch, watching a movie and would see her looking at me in the corner of my eye. Invariably this would cause me to turn to her and ask, "what?" To which her answer was always, "you were asleep and snoring for the last ten mintues." This always mystified me as I never had loss of awareness of the movie and was able to tell her what happened. Also, I would always inquire of her, how could I have known that she was giving me a look!? "I don't know but you were dead asleep." Sleep is a super fucking weird thing.
Thanks for reminding me that I need to get my orthodics checked. Picked up plantar facisitis while in the Army. I got them updated just before I left the Army. If I remember correctly, I got the mould and 3D scan. They then created custom inserts for me. Fascinating stuff. Good luck with it. Best thing I ever did for my feet.
You guys are so authentic. It's so refreshing to see genuine and naturally funny people for once. It's the reason I've watched your videos for years. Another great episode guys, I appreciate the extra work that is put in to keep up the podcasts AND regular videos!
I'm definitely by no means a skinny dude, I - like Gabby - am down with the thickness (Maccas is the gift that has been given to me). But the way I hold my weight is almost entirely around my belly. Shopping for shirts is a nightmare as the top half of torso is one size, and my lower half is another size. Maddening.
Alex should check his migraines with a doctor, anyone who has lot of migraines actually should. Like the woman who had 5 migraines in an year and then had to go through surgery to take off a part of her head or something like that.
Honestly, a hexidecimal code that takes into account every dimension of your body type sounds like a pretty good idea. Can either make your own clothes using a machine that takes those codes (less realistic, but a cool idea) or we could have them implemented into a variety of clothing stores, so you could just walk in and insert your code (you'd have it on a card or smth) then have an assortment of clothes shown to you that match your exact specifications. Ofc, your weight at that moment might be different, but taking your weight after you insert your card might(?) be a solution. All speculation at 9 in the morning lmao, much love y'all
Awwww gabby you pulled out your guitar, thought you were about to smash out smelly cat from friends hahahahaha. Love you guys keep up the great work everyone.
As I’m listening to Gabby talking about how important sleep is, it’s 2am and I know I have to get up at 7, and I’ve been binging the last 3 podcasts. The first time I found the main channel, I binged it from 9 at night to 8 in the morning. I might enjoy it a bit too much.
As far as the printed clothes thing goes, you could theoretically have a body scanner in the shop, and then a larger scale printer/ printers in the back that could produce the fabric templates that are then assembled by seamstress on site. Could also be a place where people could return clothes to be reprocessed. Essentially a traditional tailors, just sped up with technology.
More power to the people who have your videos in the background during bonky fun times, but I prefer getting out my colouring books whenever you upload a new podcast episode :D Also this wasn't a good idea to watch whilst getting over a chest infection, many a coughing fit was had lmao.
In terms of weird places, i did watch one of you guy's videos at the gathering after my grandfathers funeral. It was in a pub because we're Irish and everyone else was watching a football match, so i just popped in my headphones and opened RUclips.
Love the moment when you all got instruments out, its a option in the game you are playing but can't talk about this week *cough* *cough* Baldurs Gate 3 cough* cough* so id definitely recommend forming a band in that lol
Someone gave me grief once because I had my 3 year old nephew on a leash. It was a teddy bear backpack that a leash attached to. They told me I shouldn't have a leash on a child, they aren't a dog, blah, blah, blah. I said, at least I know where he is and he isn't likely to get away or get run over by a car or kidnapped. You might not care about you child but this kid means the world to me and I will do anything I have to to protect him. She got very red in the face and stormed off.
I would really love for you guys to try Jon Bon Jovi's wine, called Hampton Water. He's my favourite musician of all time, and I've heard really amazing things about his, and his son's, Jesse's, wine. It would mean sooo much to see my favourite channel try the wine of my favourite band! Really enjoying the podcats guys! Thank you Nick for being the true hero of the channel x
Guys did you know some 3d printers can print to infinity because of them printing on a belt. The belt moves and that lets you print for infinity. Look it up it’s RELLY cool.
They basically over engineered sewing and tailoring. The sewing machines are about that $500 mark, the thread is the filament, and the fabric that you are bringing together is in a way 3D printing. Not every wheel needs to be reinvented. Side note, Ellis throwing Jonk off with a question and seeing Jonk's face just bloop to nothingness was hilarious!!
Love the podcast! Absolute god send for something to listen to whilst model painting or doing homework that never gets done because the face cams are more interesting
I want to comment on Jake's 3d clothes idea. The hardest part of it would be the material. The machine part is possible, just expensive as hell to make. The scanning technology is already there. Maybe not for specialized clothing, but for t-shirts or a polo, leggings, sweat pants, maybe even jeans is completely possible
Im gonna be honest. The whole sleep section REALLY helped me - im exactly like eliss i really struggle to get to sleep. Its got so bad i have to perform a certain routine to get to sleep (which involves listening to this podcast of course!) Its kinda been a eye opener to listen to your experiences and realise how similar they are to mine- annnnd how i probably need to see a doctor about it. (Lol) thx wpe for being my free therapist session! Also the weirdest place i listened to u guys was in my shower - dont ask how..... ALSO GOOD LUCK NICK!
The moment they talk about clothing difference, I can say it triggers me. Mens wear is so simple to choose and wear, meanwhile it's like the Fitnessgram Pacer test where's there's multiple stage thing for them to get a right attire. I'm a dude and I feel bad for all the women that had to do this
constant brain oxidation and inflammation = nightmares. Megadosing antioxidants before sleep like vitamin C helps, and daily high omega 3 which is anti inflammatory for the brain helps.
The clothing idea could work if you could chemically recreate silk. Genuine silk is a biological material made by silkmoths to make their cocoons. They were domesticated in Asia and the silk was obviously lucrative. If you could chemically recreate it, the clothes idea has a chance.
Ellis is, of course, correct that "solving" the clothing size problem with technology creates a whole bunch of other problems elsewhere in the supply chain - but the principle underlying that (and a lot of others) is that we have a (political) economy that is set up to sell products, not to meet people's actual needs, which is a rather important distinction. Suppose that were otherwise, and none of Jonk's technological ideas are particularly far-fetched or implausible.
God, im a transwomen looking to finally start buying more feminine clothes and the amount of horror stories ive heard about how convuluted and confusing it is + plus the lack of pockets is so daunting
The clothing issues I find is that they don't realise not all plus size people are long legged I can never find short legged big waist trousers its a nightmare
As someone who owns a 3d printer, I feel I should give my opinion on Jakes idea. Most 3D printing materials are plastics with little, if any, elasticity. There are some that have some give to them, but nothing close to a fabric. Most pursuits into a 3D printed fabric include a form of chainmail to overcome this issue. The second main issue is the price, as most 3D printers now start at £100 and get exponentially more expensive as you look for more reliable and larger machines. Furthermore, most 3D printers cannot print a full garment in one piece, as the build size is limited by the size of the machine. The rest of the idea (recycling it back into material, custom clothes for given sizes, etc.) seem feasible, although I’m not a tailor so my opinion shouldn’t be taken as fact. I think the easier option is to just make standardised sizes for clothing.
i had a similar thing the woman said do u know this is the women's bathroom and i said it's not and showed her the urinals, she looked a bit embarrassed bless her
I'm so sorry to say It, i watch old WPE vídeos to sleep or old RPG podcast as my bestime story, i watched some of them hundreds of times só no surprises, my brain shuts itself only in this ways.
1:04:08 I'm stuck with a doctor that basically moves every issue onto my psychiatrist who doesn't know what to do with it bc my doctor just blames every damn thing on mental stuff. But all other doctors are already saturated with the amount of patients they've to take care of so I'm stuck with that..... Yay healthcare systems
Wouldn't it be as simple of the clothing pattern shape cutter being adjustable ??? i'm sure they already are hence the huge variety of clothes being made today. That wouldn't be any change to the seamstress side or skill level, as clothes already come in different sizes. Just more of a smaller run custom per customer. So rather than metal die press cutting of patterns/ cloth sections, using the laser cut technique instead????
I was on a night course at my local college, and did that too, I remember thinking this is a REALLY tidy bathroom, finished up and walked out, right into two girls and only then did I relises I was on the wrong floor andhad just used the ladies loo. the night class I was in wondered why I came back in bright red
I am fat. And while shopping for swimming clothes, I could not find anything. After 3 days of looking, I decided to look at the men's. How in the nine hells do men's swimming trunks accommodate my wide af hips and ass better than the women's section? I had more space left in men's trunks for both my hips and thighs! Not only that, I could only find decent support in the sports bra's section. All the top parts of women's swimming articles are flimsy and would easily unwind or fly off when jumping into water, going down a slide or even swimming fast. Trash quality and stupid in design everywhere.
Hello! I just wanted to say thank you all for sharing and being so open with your sleeping issues. I know it sounds weird, but it feels cathartic (I hope that's the right word) to hear that people I look up to also having the same problems. I felt really embarrassed telling others that and kept stressing about it when it came to creating content. So uhm, yeah! Thank you all again, it weirdly really made my day :D
i doubt any piece of mass-market clothing that is as cheap as you discribed is brought into the UK by plane. most of that stuff is probably transported via cargoshipping. transporting goods on a plane is a lot more expensive because of the the amount of fuel you'd need compared to the relatively small capacity a cargo plane has compared to a ship. so yeah, ironically, the very cheap clothes you discribed might actually be better for the environment (in terms of transport) than a 100$ pair of pants because with the 100$ pair the shipping expense for the plane is more worth it. Really, with clothing prices the difference comes probably from how ethically they are produced.
I want to also talk about sleep :oo I don't know if this will be in the podcast since I'm still in the middle but, I saw from a video that we have varying times of what is comfortable to sleep, like if a specific person sleeps at their specific amount of time, they wake up comfortably, not it being 8 hours of sleep is good for everyone's case Like for me, I find between 6 to 8 hours be a good time to wake up from sleep, and it can get easy for me if I have an alarm clock, and I find that I have a sort of internal body clock that will consistently wake me up at the same amount of hours But take it with a grain of salt because again, watched it from a youtube video and I haven't consulted this with a specialist or doctor
Why is jonks nose so GOD DAM SHINY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The comment about the schedule is coming rather close to a bit of a pet peeve of mine... It's when people (such as WPE) start to become recognised as sort of public figures or celebrities (whatever you want to call it)... it's that everyone bob and their feckin uncle thinks that you're somehow property of the public domain, and everything and anything can be demanded of you and the perception that you just have to jump arse over teakettle to fulfill that request or some such. I find it a rather loathsome attitude to have, and yes I'm well aware this is a kind of "LEAVE BRITNEY ALONE!!1!1!" rant, but I simply find it rather disturbing that people look at the world in that way. Just enjoy what they can give you and be thankful for anything extra from their side.
i hate to say it gabby but i used to clean bathrooms for sam's club. men are more consistently annoying with their messes but my god do women leave a mess when they do...
Of course Ellis has a 7-cringe guitar. Just adding more stings doesn’t make you any better. He probably thinks the more crab the core is the heavier it is.
I’ve been trying to grow my hair before I lose it too jake, my grandads were bald, my dad is bald, I’m sure I’m gonna lose my hair at 30 so I want my hair to be long before that

The rest of the idea (recycling it back into material, custom clothes for given sizes, etc.) seem feasible, although I’m not a tailor so my opinion shouldn’t be taken as fact.
I think the easier option is to just make standardised sizes for clothing.

the night class I was in wondered why I came back in bright red

Did they see the news that Post Malone bought that magic ring card for $2 million?
#WPEPants2023 "If they don't do it correctly, than we do" 🤣🤣
I want to also talk about sleep :oo I don't know if this will be in the podcast since I'm still in the middle but, I saw from a video that we have varying times of what is comfortable to sleep, like if a specific person sleeps at their specific amount of time, they wake up comfortably, not it being 8 hours of sleep is good for everyone's case
Like for me, I find between 6 to 8 hours be a good time to wake up from sleep, and it can get easy for me if I have an alarm clock, and I find that I have a sort of internal body clock that will consistently wake me up at the same amount of hours
But take it with a grain of salt because again, watched it from a youtube video and I haven't consulted this with a specialist or doctor
I think i now live in the group WPE mind. 🤣
Just enjoy what they can give you and be thankful for anything extra from their side.
anyone have a parody of Down With the Sickness stuck in their head thanks to Gabby
i hate to say it gabby but i used to clean bathrooms for sam's club. men are more consistently annoying with their messes but my god do women leave a mess when they do...
Of course Ellis has a 7-cringe guitar. Just adding more stings doesn’t make you any better. He probably thinks the more crab the core is the heavier it is.
You should spell check your comments, mate.
@@BellaGrl02 negative. I said what I meant and meant what I said.
I’ve been trying to grow my hair before I lose it too jake, my grandads were bald, my dad is bald, I’m sure I’m gonna lose my hair at 30 so I want my hair to be long before that
They should do an episode about conspiracies or the recent congressional hearing regarding the US government being in possession of non human craft and non human biologics.👽
