The pandas at the zoo where I live, well I’m in Glasgow but the zoo is Edinburgh can literally choose if they want to go out or not and they don’t really forced into going the part where you can see them. They also only let a set number of people into the viewing area at a time and there’s a keeper in the viewing area making sure that you aren’t too loud and answering questions about the pandas. Also the female panda worked out that if she faked being pregnant that they’d keep her inside and give her more food 😂
For your zoo, could you use many architectural themes, and break the zoo up into different areas... Savannah area with lions and then giraffes etc... then a more Asian theme, jungle theme, and then smaller enclosure animals
"When they're not sleeping they're eating or pooing, basically" that sounds suspiciously like what people describe a baby's life to be like are human babies pandas too? xD
Mating for Pandas only happens once a year in VERY TINY timeframe. There are other factors also... 1. They have to like each other for there to be any chance at all. 2. If they do like each other, then they have to figure out HOW to "do it" Bc they don't really have experience with knowing what they're doing. They try & a lot of times don't succeed. 3. If they manage to get as far as to actually mate, correctly, Then cross your fingers that's she pregnant! *Pandas in the wild are a freakn miracle!!* Even in Zoos, they will always give them the chance to do it naturally. If that's not successful, they will inseminate the female, & that doesn't always result in pregnancy, either. Soo... Everyone now has to wait until next year to try again & hope for the best.

I have been watching the development of Pinewood Hills waiting for the release and you have blown me away with this first episode. Not only is the build amazing but I loved the Panda factoids that you add in as well. I can't wait to see what else is in store for us!

@@Harryaars I agree! I don't believe that it's bad. The panda owners from China had to come to The Netherlands in order to approve the habitat before they even gave permission for the pandas to move here. If it was a bad habitat they wouldn't have approved it. I even think it is better than other panda habitats I have seen which are in San Diego, Toronto and Mexico City
I think something amazing you might be able to do is build exhibits like this in a video, then have a 'not speedbuild' of placing it in a larger zoo, but have the exhibit in a blueprint so we can download the blueprint and actually build the zoo with you and at the end you could go live for the tour and we could actually follow along on our own map. Love this video, love all your content and I'm excited for everything ahead.

I live in the Netherlands and they also have it there. They opened it in 2017. So i'm pretty sure it comes from the Netherlands. So Denmark copied it from the Netherlands.

Szechuan Panda is actually pretty tasty; it's expensive, but if you can find it, try it with the hot mustard. Combining a restaurant and Panda enclosure is genius!
Unless the Netherlands have an identical enclosure, I'm pretty sure you're referring to the one in Copenhagen, Denmark, as that is exactly a divided ying/yang style enclosure with a restaurant built in...
If you don't mind being nearly incapable to mate then you Picked one of the best lifes! As long as you are in a Zoo, in the wild you will have the Normal Hard life every wild animal has.
Funny because he seems to be mixing the Copenhagen one and the Dutch one. The restaurant is in Ouwehand dierenpark. The yin yang is in Copenhagen. Though this exhibit seems loosely based on ouwehand.
Are you sure you're not talking about Denmark? In Copenhagen the pandas have an enclosure designed as yin and yang. I don't know if there's also one in the Netherlands though.

I went to see the Panda in Chengdu earlier this year, but you cannot understate just how much they eat and poo. Adorably cute, but also - man that's a lot of dung 😳💩 I think the exhibit looks great - like you say maybe the architecture is slightly overscaled, but I think you balanced the elements well :)
If you are curious go to IUCN Red List and it is the way they classify the species endangerment level. But it is really cool they will give you almost all info on the species. Like the amount of them left and ect.

How did you place those path pieces at 0:25 - 0:39 while keeping them square and without the game adding edges to them? The path system is driving me nuts and I can't figure out how you're able to make such nice plazas and viewing areas.
Looking forward to seeing all your builds! Would love a video on what changed from beta to the full release if anything did mechanics wise. Wasn't a huge fan of how little cash mattered in the beta because one or two donation buckets would bring in way more than you would need to spend and I struggled getting animals because you only get decent conservation points from getting rid of the animals that you have. After a couple of hours I had like 200k in cash with like 8 or so animals and few points to get more but maybe I was going at it the wrong way?
For the panda habitat in the Netherlands yeah there are not a lot hiding places but I want to say that when they get stressed or something they can go Inside. There is also a litlle panda baby born in the netherlanda

Panda's dying off because they're too lazy to do anything, including mate... that's what we call a "big mood"

It was buggy during the beta, before it was released. All games are buggy in the beta. That's why they have beta testing in the first place.

Harryaars its a zoo from Denmark but we have a lot of zoo’s but most of them don’t have any panda’s

Pretty sure the ying-yang Panda enclosure design is from Denmark(Copenhagen). It was opened april and does have the restaurant you were reffering too.

Youre talking about the zoo of Copehagen with the yin and yang and the restaurant underneath. The enclosure in the Netherlands is much different
