Excellent idea. As time goes by and life becomes more expensive in the west there will be more people wanting to come to Bali and assess whether or not it is for them. Having a base such as this would be perfect for that purpose. I can see you with multiple such properties in the future
G’day Murray, what a great bungalow you got you hands on, I can see it has fantastic potential, all the best with this build, can’t wait to see it finished. Cheers Michael
Hey Muzza, Another GREAT PROJECT youve got there......youve already done the leg work to know where to get what. So I believe this one will be a lot smoother and easy compared to your first reno. The plants in the bathroom are called Homalomena ( or shield/ spade plant ). The taller one is a Dracena ( or happy plant ). Dont cut back the plams by the front entrance, theyre called Lady Palm.....you can dig up the clump and divide them to produce new INSTANT plants. LOVE the old school style of the bungalow....good size rooms and good layout as it is. A sliding glass doors or french glass doors into the side yard would give a nice outlook and a good space to chill out in. Would make a great garden with a couple lge fragipanis and ylanga ylanga and palms. Bit of paving......it will look fantastic. Great find Muzza and Vie.....and a really good idea with the medium/ long rental. Gives someone time to look around to find exactly what they want....have a bit of fun and start/go through the process of getting their visas etc sorted out. ✨️❤🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏✨️ Looking forward to this one😊
Awesome little bachelor pad. Me coming from tropical Aus I just see mozzies so I would screen of the entrance area with big sliding screens this allowing the breeze to flow but keeping the biting insects out. If you add a A/C then just add a curtain you will be amazed how much a simple curtain will help keep it cool, again it can be drawn out the way to keep the breeze flowing when desired. What ever you do you should do well out of it.
How exciting, you already have one renovation under your belt and I am sure you guys will do a great job with this one. Very excited to watch your progress. Cheers
G'day Muzza, What a fantastic opportunity for somebody considering a move to Bali. My God the prices for accommodation is unbelievable compared too Australia.
I think you're right about keeping the roof open as much as possible and the big gutter inside the house would be cool. I live in Phoenix AZ US, desert, 48 C. I've done some experiments and hot air rising of course is true, but results have been disappointing. Doesn't move as much air as I thought. Shading the roof makes a much bigger difference.
Hi , I think they used to have twinkly lights across the road where you met Bobo. It used to have lots of places to eat and shop. Hopefully they can make it a nice place again. Thanks 😊
Muzza,I saw a quick video of you on another channel discussing worst nationality of tourists. When they mentioned Bali you popped up and they discussed Aussie tourists
Thanks Muzza Would highly appreciate it if you make a video about the cost of renting/buying a shop in Bali (I understand it depends on the location, so somewhere with tourist traffic). Also the business starting info anything would be appreciated. Cheers
Muz, at 03:46, I reckon that the green sheet of plastic is not nearly long enough to deflect the torrential downpours. The whole house lounge area will end up a wet room!
Hi Murray, love ya channel bud. We were just in Bali a few days ago and I kept an eye out for you. Mate, gotta ask where is this property and how much did you pay? Did you lease it?
That staircase nearly killed you. Are you ok mate? Pls don’t ruin the original floor, in the living room, it’s what tourists like to see. The bath idea in the living room isn’t great, giving American, 1970 roadside sex motel vibes. The green space next to the house would make a great patio, nobody would long term, rent a place in paradise, without any outdoor space, so good idea! As you are married to a local, why don’t you buy a small property? Especially as you are thinking long term and investing money in home improvements and renovations, in what’s eventually just a rented space? Having been to Bali several times, I know that simple village homes can be bought cheap as chips or small plots of land. You are a great guy, you will make it work! 👍🏽
Good stuff Muzz I have a 25 year Contract on The Maluku Islands Kei kecil ..Good Advise on this Insurance it's a Real Issue Keep Hammering Home this ..Another Topic is Airlines wanting two way tickets which is differcult if you don't have plans..You always can a buy a Ferry from Batam to singapore ..20 bucks
So just going back what is the toilet and bathroom like? How much are you thinking of marketing it for? Does it have a pool? I am considering doing exactly this? I want to seriously consider moving there, but have so many questions. Is there a way I can contact you direct? Coming over May next year, but have some questions that I would like to ask you.
The entrance should be left as is only stop the water from coming straight down leave it for the scooters to be parked instead of outside it's actually like a mini garage . Place gutters very large ones enough to catch all the water and send it outside . The white tiles also need to be upgraded to non slip . Also place horizontal one foot long window's on the walls to allow light to come it made from them glass bricks, say about 20cm below the roof line . Bedrooms are going to be the hardest to do if you don't get it right .
With that much water coming in, yes the plants are great, but I would be concerned about existing rising damp, that not only damages the walls but creates mould. Not trying to put a downer on your project, just putting thoughts in, as I watch your video.
Maybe I missed it, are you looking to purchase this property, Muzza? Weight up initial costs, reno costs and potential income. Plus on-going maintenance costs.
@MurrayWilkinson1 good to see you have a good following. When I get back to Bali to be with my fiancè, who I pine for every minute of the day and restless sleep, it would be cool to meet in person. We're based in Sanur, though.
ppbali.com/what-is-a-pondok-wisata/ explains it well. Luckily my wife is Indonesian and our company will be set up through her. There are ways for non-indonesians to run property but it is complicated. I use www.matesrates.cc for all my property and legal consultations
I love how as the video went on you got hotter and hotter and sweat came through, must be humid as hell over there atm I'd love to see footage of that open roof when it's bucketing down rain What a bizarre concept Place looks great!
Nice project but in urgent need of windows, a bit of a cave right now. I personally don’t like this place it needs a lot of money right now and return will only come very far in the future. Just walk away from this place. 🙏 The shower was once a step in shower with a wall around the sides to keep water in, they just closed it up bc they most probably had a drainage problem.
Surely you would have to enclose that pebbled waterfall area off, otherwise any tikkus and millions of mozzies would be going everywhere in the house. The internal area of the house has to closed off to the wildlife..!!🤣
Hati hati Muzza. I know this might sound weird, but the number 4, between Cantonese and Mandarin, means death. Hati hati 🙏🏻 Yes, I know it's not China 😅 It's about numbers.
You'll do great, I'm very sure. All the best.
Great video mate. I will enjoy watching the series.
Muzza… more stories than Walt Disney!!! Awesome
Excellent idea. As time goes by and life becomes more expensive in the west there will be more people wanting to come to Bali and assess whether or not it is for them. Having a base such as this would be perfect for that purpose. I can see you with multiple such properties in the future
Reminds me of losmans in the late 70's, early 80's.
What a fabulous project! Looking forward to seeing progress
That is a great start, looking forward to seeing the finished product Muzz. Glenn from Australia
Fantastic potential...wow. Get rid of that light that is casting the shadow of the ceiling fan directly where the TV would be that would be annoying 😂
Looks good! Glass sliding doors beside the cobbled area so you can open or close and still see the lounge room jungle? Then you can aircon too!
G’day Murray, what a great bungalow you got you hands on, I can see it has fantastic potential, all the best with this build, can’t wait to see it finished. Cheers Michael
Definitely has great potential! Interested to see the end result
I love it. I was thinking the exact same thing that you mentioned turning the pebbled open area into an indoor garden 💚

Fabulous - I can't wait to shift in. 🙂
Good luck. Great idea
Window will solve airflow & light issues.. where you said the aircon might go
Has great character, and I can see real potential
What a nice house, even in it's current state.
Great job on the new project 😊 i agree an indoor garden would look great
What a great video mate very informative im sure this will help a lot of people.👍
You're onto a winner there that's for sure.
Love it Muzza. Nice Lil gem.

I'm getting famous.. or infamous
mate superb,im going to watch this space, keen too rent very long term ,closely watching, cheers muzza
Love the idea of a bath in the garden inside, but consider mosquitos. Maybe plant some anti-mosquito plants that can live inside.
Will be watching with interest Muzza.
Thanks Muzza

Good work Muzza, I would go on your list as a regular renter of it for a few months at a time. 👍
Deal! Stay in touch. It is a great place in a great location . Just needs some love
Interesting video thanks again
Hi Murray, love ya channel bud. We were just in Bali a few days ago and I kept an eye out for you. Mate, gotta ask where is this property and how much did you pay? Did you lease it?
I'd be a tad concerned about mozzies coming in through the gaps on the ceiling. Not sure how you'd fix that?
I'm not sure 5 grand will do it, Muzza. I hope it does, even with local prices 🙏🏻
Of course u can renovate, I wouldn’t like the water coming in and since I’m a princess I’d need a/c please muzza
Muzz at the departure lounge to Darwin got to catch up next time I'm getting to bloody old to party lol

Skip the bath idea in the lounge though, will date & not many people will use anyway

Mostly yes, but local products are insanely cheap here
As a money maker probably not so good.
As for a project for making videos excellent
