My options on these books! Divergent: I remember I was staying at my aunt’s, I had just finished reading Harry Potter (the book that got me into reading) and I needed something else to read. I saw Divergent sitting on a shelf, read the back and decided to read it. My brothers were at a dance competition and so during all the dances (expect theirs) I would zoom through that book. I convinced all the girls in my class to read it that year. 10/10 Hunger Ganes: I agree, I kinda forced myself to love it because it was a dystopian novel. I didn’t get attached to the characters. I finished the whole series though. 6/10 Legend: I haven’t read it yet but am super excited to! ?/10 Maze Runner: I loved it! But I felt like it went downhill from the first book. Escaping the maze was a lot of fun, but the virus and WCKD was not. I still have a crush on Newt. 8/10
Legend imo- Fast pace and really interesting on how the MC interacted with other characters and her environment. Marie just made June super strong and smart from the beginning, which I thought I wouldn’t like because books generally require development, however her mental and emotional development was insane. Personally I loved it. The ending, after champion before rebel, might have you mulling over it for a while. That being said, Life After Legend, though very short, healed my heart. Not only that, Rebel supposedly has an adorable ending but I can’t get my hands on it rn. 5/5 from me, which is absolutely insane because I originally DNF’D the series. Came back, and now I’ve been in a book hangover for many, many days. Can’t get it out of my head. The other MC, the MMC, has a really interesting backstory, even though it’s actually pretty simple. The way their relationship grew was insane, because though they had something from the start, it was interesting to read exactly how weary they were of the others decisions, but loved eachother enough to listen. Yes, Prodigy, this is about you. Much growth imo, and I could talk about it for hours. The last thing that I would say did take away from the series was how Marie Lu skipped over Day and June healing from their trauma in the same way Eden did. She was just like “oop time skip”

My opinion on divergent: Divergent is such a thrilling book. It draws you in the very first page. The writing was captivating and engaging. It's been a year since I finished the series, and I still think about it everyday. It has a brilliant plot and creative characters. It had the perfect amount of action, and romance tied into each book. Although many people tend to dislike the book because of it's ending, I truly think the ending was fit for the series. Veronica Roth did a fantastic job with this series. If you love dystopian action filled books like me I 100% recommend.

Honestly, I really liked the plot. The author managed to make an interesting dystopian, IN MY OPINION, that got you rooting for the characters, while also showing how consequences must be faced for people's actions and how a dystopian really isn't perfect. I liked the decisions Katniss was forced to make in the end, and I also love how the prequel was able to tie everything together and give you a new perspective on the books.
The only thing I can agree with is that I am emotionally invested in the "Legend" series, I cried so much - especially in the epilogue when they meet each other and Day can't recognize June! This really destroyed me even after my tenth run ): I feel like it is very important to add that "The Maze Runner" and "The Hunger Games" were very good as well.

I just wanted to say on the topic of dystopian, one of the best series I ever read was called Matched, and it's a YA trilogy. I love it so much, so I feel like you should check it out. Just a suggestion.

I haven't read legend but THG is literally the best book from all the rest
Maze Runner was fabulous (Thomas might be a bit annoying but still good)
Divergent was so great, the ending was heartbreaking
The first Hunger Games was good, the last two were meh
Legend is pretty good
Dude the last two Hunger Games books are where it gets interesting, because Katniss literally starts a rebellion 💀
