What’s the difference from the blade being on the top or bottom?

If the tooth part of the scissor is on the top when cutting the hair it won't clog up the blade and you can repeatedly cut over and over without the cut hair collecting in the teeth of the scissor. If the tooth part of the blade is on the bottom, the cut line will be more seamless and you won't see the cut as clearly.

Of course, it's always preferred to do cuts on real clients, but it's not easy getting people to let you cut their hair they way you want to cut it ;) Also, this video is not so much about an actual haircut but rather explaining a technique.
