You sir, have just demonstrated the PERFECT pixie cut for a woman. Nobody, and I mean nobody, knows how to cut hair on either a woman, or a man in our area. I always end up with "corners," which I have to cut, and add texture myself, after every single haircut. Was told I have "cowlicks" when I point out the uneveness. The SECTIONING is indispensible for this cut, but nobody has any idea what that means, or how to do it. I wish you lived closer. Your clients are in good hands!

@@simonamichaels232Pretty much, yeah. I went to hair school in Florida in 2021. Because of pandemic restrictions, we were a “hybrid class” the first semester, which meant half the week was online only. The second semester, we could work on classmates and the few teachers who were willing, but that was pretty much it as far as human clients. We had three mannequins each. Florida has no practical exam either, so we were taught to pass the computer state board exams, and that was about it 😅 I did great with the bookwork. Now, I’m still trying to figure out how to actually do hair. Please, have patience with us new hairstylists. Some of us are really trying to learn.

I’m cutting three boys tomorrow, in fact. If they don’t get clipper cuts, I may try this! I’ve always used my comb and shears for blending, not the comb in place of my fingers, unless it’s a clipper comb used for flat tops and such.

You still make it look very easy though ! i kept your video on- it took at lot longer, so I wil finish some bits off later ( my son gets a bit impatient. ) also the chair was too high as I’m quite short so the top needs a bit of a tidy. But I felt so confident in knowing how to cut and also where to go next. It’s very therapeutic. My sons hair is very thick and much longer than your models and I am really pleased . I have a small confession, I never intended to make a tutorial out of this video, it was supposed to be an entirely ASMR video, however decided it was good to turn into a tutorial, that said, the little trimmer is really noisy for an asmr type video so at the time I never filmed the trimmer work around the sides. Fo your husbands hair you need to decide on the length that is required to keep a bit of movement in it, and when you make your first cut try not to lose that guide. Maybe start with something just a little longer than usual and each time you cut it you can adjust to a shorter length in needed

I have been cutting my husband’s (and now my 2 sons’) hair since before we were married. Learned from his mom, who I believe is self-taught. I always struggle with the “fringe” or bangs section up front. A video on how to cut that section, and maybe multiple styles of such, would be very helpful!! Thanks for making these videos. So helpful!!

I have enjoyed your video immensely. I took my hair stylist back in 1978 and I love watching a person that really knows what they are doing. So yes I’m old lol so I have also seen many poor cuts. Keep up the great work you have me as a full time subscriber.🥰

That was excellent and everything lines up ~ there are no gaps & nothing is uneven! I love the way you took it vertical in the back as well. I’m going to try this on my dad’s hair where you can see every cut and he has that poker straight course hair that’s not too forgiving.🍾

I am so thankful I find your very well demonstrated video.. Thank you so much❤

  • @SternenspringerLupa

The technique is good. I also preferred a comb and scissors to clippers at work. Because you can adapt to the shape of the head much better that way.
But I always go back to the contours from bottom to top at the end. So I take the comb and slowly comb upwards in the length that the hair should have and cut away the outermost tips with the scissors while I'm combing. This removes the small lines that appear and are visible. So I cut during the upward movement. In Germany, we call this "Klappern". Because the scissors " clatter" open and close very quickly.
(Sorry if I used the wrong vocabulary. English is not my mother tongue.)

    • @theoneminutebarber
      @theoneminutebarber  7 месяцев назад +1

That’s great info. Klappern makes sense. I do the same, it can really add a pristine finish

I've always buzzed my boys hair when they were little but now that they are teenagers they are a more fussy 😂 and I have been still cutting their hair at home but I bought a nice pair of scissors only for haircuts and a comb and I am learning how to cut like this scissor over comb method. This is an excellent video for me to learn by. Thank you very much!

Though I'm not a barber but a hair stylist (hair dresser) I do have clients of different ethnicities & gender. I've always enjoyed mens cuts & have used this technique for many years. I like the clean smooth blended look. It also works well women who want shorter hair.
I appreciated you going back through the dry hair because it falls in its natural place & one can see obvious areas to touch up. When the hair is wet the it's not always obvious.
I've seen many stylists refuse to do this because 1) mistakes can be hidden in the blow dry by utilizing styling products & 2) they want to get people in & out of their chairs faster. I get completely annoyed.
I really enjoyed your video & your I depth explanations. 😊

🎉 I have referenced this video multiple times for (3) haircuts now! on my partner. Wanted to say thank you for the graphics and detailed explanation. I’ve tried a fade this time, and couldn’t quite blend it as seamlessly as you did, in your taper/fade livestream. Came back to this video and used some basics to clean it up and it looks pretty darn good now. 🎉 it’s a lot of fun!
