More! More! More!...I just can't get enough! Who is with me?! I feel guilty because I know how hard you both work on everything. Thank you, I have so much respect and gratitude for all you do.
You both have given young Ivar such a beautiful and loving start to his life. He begins his journey of years with PRICELESS memories...and he will remember much more than you realise. Sending many, many blessings and prayers for you all . Thank you for sharing such blessed moments with us all.
It is always so wonderful to take a trip through and over the tree tops and down to the homestead, as though riding on a magic carpet. And, so beautiful with Old Winter's coat on the ground and you all carrying on with your chores. Ivar is learning well how to tend to the flock! He'll be a huge help in few years! We are learning as well how to keep a small farm. It is so good to see your videos each time you post! Thank you!
I sometimes find myself holding my breath as I watch your fly over the meadows, streams and forests enveloped in snow. And then I think to myself of the times I had with my parents on our farm and the hard work it involved but we were HAPPY then. We also raised sheep( Suffolk ) . We didn't feel like were were missing out on anything because it just wasn't there to obsess about. All the technological advances we have made and yet more and more people are so unhappy, unfullfilled and lost and lonely. It is my dream to one day go back to living a more simpler life without so much techno garbage and to go back to connecting with nature and living a mindful and meaningful life. You guys make me think that me and my bf can one day do that so don't ever stop your videos. Keep up with your dreams and even though there are setbacks just keep moving forward. You are so inspiring to so many people :)
Don't dream about "one day". See how you can put into reality today. You don't need to move to off grid log cabin to live this way. You can move away from techno right now by moving away from smartphone into the old type phone for example. Reclaiming lost skills like map reading, growing your own food, building fires, learning to forage, mending clothes.
I feel the same when I watch the drone and see the gorgeous scenery...makes my heart soar and takes my breath. He's truly talented in putting these videos together
The breeding aprons can help but not foolproof. We had our bucks in with does and only one doe was impregnated while aprons used. Must be measured accurately and secured enough they can get off.
Yep too much technology creates more hunger for connection with the natural world and with other humans, thus technology is leaving people more and more empty in their soul, until they discover that we can't really thrive without nature and nurture.
Ivar face is changing... he is loosing his toddler face! and he still speaks a lot, but this time, it's understandable to "us"!!! Your images are becoming sooooo beautiful! and your artistic skills is "blooming"!!! it's like refining your visual sensitivity! It's MAGIC!!!! Thank you so much.✨✨💖👌💖✨✨
I feel sorry for you that you've only just been able to understand young Ivar's speech. I have comprehended it for ages as most on here have I believe. Not sure what is your problem but would have liked you to keep it to yourself. It is not shared with any positive lean on it. The lack of understanding is your problem not theirs. Please be mindful of what you share and why you share it. This family works incredibly hard and sincerely to being to us a slice of their very hard life. Yes they've chosen this lifestyle, but that doesn't make it any less arduous and even more so to convert their native tongue into a language most can understand. That Ivar is only 2 and speaks so clearly and with understanding of the concept he's portraying is very advanced for his age. So please , think before you write in future and that goes for all channels you interact on, thankyou.
@@heatherclayton-callaghan4270 I dont think it was meant to be a negative comment in any way - there are a lot of people out there having difficulties in understanding toddlers, and others understand them quite well! Such a joyful time! when you are able to post a video of your life activities in the lovely place you call home. Thanx for sharing, and caring so lovingly for yourselves and your critters.
Thank you for another great vlog! Really enjoyed this little glimpse into your everyday life dealing with the sheep and completely agree, home-raised meat is so much tastier!
We made a central pen with gates to all the pens and a Very High and strong fence on the central pen and because the central pen touched all the others, it was easier to sort the herd without them wanting to follow, the separated ones, the hard part is sorting, but a carrot or treat helps a lot!!! We also have goats and they ALL have collars... a big help we also try to walk them too which makes them easier to catch, having constant contact. your Red bowls seem to also help a lot...
We always want something other than what we have.. grass is greener in someone else’s pasture.. you have given me so much joy in your videos. You truly live in the most beautiful, breath taking off grid place. I hope you don’t have the “grass is greener” feeling. You are living it!! hej, the experience little Ivar will make at your homestead will prepare him for a better human being. i lived almost the same way when i was a young child, no running water, an out house and animals to get meat from and a huge garden to grow vegetables and fruit trees. Thank you very much for another brilliant episode! When you started carrying the sheep I thought, "Mathias needs to find a better way to move the sheep". 5 minutes later you said it! I suggest you buy some rope and make a few halters, one halter for each lead rope. If you can lead one with a rope and a small bucket of grain or lucerne, the others might follow. Also, if you start teaching Ivar to lead some of the lambs one at a time on a halter, while the lambs are still young they will be used to being lead by the time they are older. Keep trying to find ways to make your life easier now, you body will thank you for it when you are much older. Keep up the great work! Love to you all from Australia! 😍

Also the Lime wash is white and will brighten up the cellar. Lime plaster is also fire proof. Back in the old days everyone would lime plaster the inside of their homes so they will not burn down. Maybe you could put some iron candle holders high up on the walls of the cellar for light
I totally agree with the difference in farm raised meat !! I was born and raised on dairy sheep pigs and all our meat was home grown & butchered. How I yearn for such beautiful meat again instead of this store bought stuff !!! I thank God I at least had the good clean pure farm meat as a child and up to my early 20s !!!! Now nearly 70 I miss that yummy meat. Moving the sheep instead of carrying them, Try making a pen with your wire fencing and some wooden batons /posts , just enough for 2 sheep to walk side by side . Have one person at front with a post in each hand and one doing the same at the rear. If you keep them fairly tightly together they should all move in unison and not be able to get much speed up. If you have a food dish up front they can see and will follow if necessary. I'd try without food. Have a couple of batons along each side to stop them pressing on the wire and escaping. This method should work while walking on that path you had cleared and packed down. It's much like using sheep dogs but a fence enclosure instead. It's a good way to train them to move around your paddocks. You don't want big heavy posts at front and back as you must carry the posts in your outstretched arms. I hope this will make moving the young ewes at least easier than having to carry every one !!!!!!. Much love and blessings from Ipswich Queensland Australia from my heart to yours. 🤗💞🙏✌️👍👋👏
Thank you so much for your hard work and efforts producing videos for us around the world. This was so beautiful and extra special. Best wishes and much love to You and Your Family.
Loved learning the names of some of your sheep ( Hello Greta and Doris), and thanks to Ivar, I now know how to say Pee in Swedish. Lovely vlog as always
Yes, in English we use the word "pregnant" for animals as well. And maybe the phrase you were looking for was, "Let nature take its course," or something similar. This was fun to watch! Right now I'm cleaning and spinning the wool from one of my brother's Cheviot sheep from his farm.

The snow capped trees are beautiful. Winter months are cold in your part of the World, but I miss visiting Finland where my husband is from, especially in winter. I grew up in a village and we had sheep. My father taught us how to care for them. He built a side by side trough? To separate them.. I don't know if this is helpful but that's what I remember..lol..your child is getting big ,Very cute to hear him speak Swedish..stay warm🥰😍💕
This was another amazingly beautiful work of art and way better than an action movie! Rams running towards the ladies 😅❤ I know it’s a hard life and hard work but I tear up with the beauty, serenity, quietness, the commitment to the animals and family life, the laying in the snow, the smiles… You are very special people living a very special, meaningful life
Here in the UK, there are always trained sheepdogs for sale for all different reasons...for example, an older dog that may now benefit from less work than with a pro shepherd or larger scale sheep farmer and be ideal for the smaller amount of work you'd need one for. Maybe something to look into if you don't want to train one up yourself or not sure how? Taking one of mine sheep training tomorrow....we just love it as a pastime. I don't get to do it often because there's nowhere close enough to me and it's always going to be a bit of a drive just to train.
A temporary solution might be for you to make a small wooden cage, or get a cheap folding dog cage, that will fit in the back of your wagon. So, instead of carrying them in your arms you can at least utilize your wagon and carry them that way. Then just pop the cage out of the wagon and store it away somewhere for next time. Just a low tech idea! Cheers from Maine!
@@Talasbuan Even one sheep at a time in The hay wagon would help I would think. A cage trailer towed by your car perhaps if it can manage the snow without a road. Do you have a tractor? I can't recall. I do watch a lot of farming channels as that's how I was raised and worked on farms. Sheep were always yhe dumbest animals. They'd always be as far away from the gate as possible. To hay feed in the snow was very tiring carrying bales of hay thru knee deep snow that the tractor couldn't pass thru. A note here, back in my parents early days of farming and starting a family of 7 , they only had an old model T and the pig was transported in wherevthe back seat was removed. That was in 1955 you're dpungvthe same sort of thing ...some things don't change much LOL 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
“Welcome to the channel where we don’t know what we are doing” after the separation of the sheep made me laugh so hard! You all do so much work-be gentle with yourselves. You are truly wonderful!
Thank you for the video! I have a fiew suĝestions about moving the sheep. 1. You Can lur them with some grains. 2. You can put them In a leach one by one and bring To the other pen. 3. You can bring the whole flock To the New Pen and separate then there, then lur the older sheep back To the old Pen. 4. You can take one of the young ewes on a leach and try if the others Will follow
"Jag gillar era videos mycket. Ert land och er vardag inom jordbruk och fåruppfödning intresserar mig mycket. Jag förstår att det är ett svårt liv till viss del, men era videos förmedlar intrycket att ni förstår naturens cykler och integrerar er med dess visdom på ett avundsvärt sätt som bara jordbrukare kan. Nobody flies a drone through the forest like you do, Mathias! I see you now have a car. Ivar is so cute 🥰 and learning so much. He listens well to you, Tova! Beautiful family. 👍😎🇨🇦
Have a look for some New Zealand style sheep yards, or portable sheep yards. You can find some inspiration to build your own versions. You can do it in such a way that it is not so large and mostly focused on the gully separation gates, and just extend the individual yards in whatever way you like with your portable fencing. Can easily be built in a day or two with a couple of people. And self milled timber or tree rounds if you desire.
My goats are grass feed and yes the milk is So much better. I give them a little of Alfalfa each day which I have noticed the milk is much taster. Totally enjoy the video as always look forward to them.
Observing this young couple in their daily struggles against the adversities of the weather may seem admirable, but I understand it must not be easy to live in such a context. My respect to them. Greetings from Brazil☀️☀️☀️🌈🦜🌈🦜🎶🎶🎉🎊🌴🌴🌴

Hello ALONE/ KENI 🐕...THE CARABO WERE ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL 🦌🦌🦌SUCH A GORGEOUS SIGHT!!! LOVED THE SCENERY AGAIN, NEVER GET TIRED OF IT🗻🗻🗻🗻🗻. I THINK ALL YOUR PLANS FOR YOUR CABIN SOUNDS WONDERFUL TOO.. SO MUCH WORK AHEAD...I GOT SICK FROM WATCHING 👀 MY GRANDSON, AND NOW HAVE BRONCITUS/ ASYMA FOR THE 2ND TIME IN 8 WEEKS 😂....NO FUN..... WELL LOVE SEEING YOU BOTH AGAIN ❤

YOUR GAL PAL
KATHY JOHNSTON... OH MY MO. TURNED 9O🎉 TODAY
As always, I enjoy watching your videos. Always look forward to seeing them. Such a joy!
Thanks for another gorgeous video!
Sorting pens and chutes! Very helpful for many tasks.
This was another amazingly beautiful work of art and way better than an action movie! Rams running towards the ladies 😅❤
I know it’s a hard life and hard work but I tear up with the beauty, serenity, quietness, the commitment to the animals and family life, the laying in the snow, the smiles…
You are very special people living a very special, meaningful life
Here in the UK, there are always trained sheepdogs for sale for all different reasons...for example, an older dog that may now benefit from less work than with a pro shepherd or larger scale sheep farmer and be ideal for the smaller amount of work you'd need one for. Maybe something to look into if you don't want to train one up yourself or not sure how? Taking one of mine sheep training tomorrow....we just love it as a pastime. I don't get to do it often because there's nowhere close enough to me and it's always going to be a bit of a drive just to train.
I really learn a lot about separating the rams from the ewes. Good luck with the breeding program!
Yes, I was thinking we should utilise the wagon in some way..
@@Talasbuan could be a cheap and easy way to get by until you find a more permanent solution, at least!
Thank you Mathias and family for the new vlog.. im alway waiting for this and im amazed from youre video i feel like im with you guys… love lots
Great video the way you live is so interesting 👍
“Welcome to the channel where we don’t know what we are doing” after the separation of the sheep made me laugh so hard! You all do so much work-be gentle with yourselves. You are truly wonderful!
Thank you for the video! I have a fiew suĝestions about moving the sheep. 1. You Can lur them with some grains. 2. You can put them In a leach one by one and bring To the other pen. 3. You can bring the whole flock To the New Pen and separate then there, then lur the older sheep back To the old Pen. 4. You can take one of the young ewes on a leach and try if the others Will follow
Enlightening to say the least. Ivar was especially cute and Mathias was amazing lifting those ladies over a fence and across the pasture. 💪🏼
"Jag gillar era videos mycket. Ert land och er vardag inom jordbruk och fåruppfödning intresserar mig mycket. Jag förstår att det är ett svårt liv till viss del, men era videos förmedlar intrycket att ni förstår naturens cykler och integrerar er med dess visdom på ett avundsvärt sätt som bara jordbrukare kan. En stor kram från Brasilien
Again you created a wonderful video. Touching drone footage..and so much effort that we can finally see the video. Thank you so much for sharing your life with us. Love and appreciation from Bali
It's nice seeing you all well. Your son is so adorable growing up so fast.
Lol 😂…….welcome to the channel where we have no idea what we are doing 😂😂 You guys are the best.❤
Nice to see how it all works , the sheep holding and everything. Hard labor! Great video again.

Baby has grown up so fast so lovely to see GBU n family
maybe a long stick/pole and also possibly using the fencing you have to create hallways/walk ways to other areas with open and close doors.
Love your family and videos. ❤️❤️❤️
I can't wait until Ivar turns 3 in a couple of weeks. As usual you never cease to amaze me. Your camera skills are so artistic

I do not always know what's going on with the sheep , ewes, lambs and the hornless ram but I learn on the go. Tomorrow I'll be watching it again. All this knowledge is not exactly applicable in my circumstances (: as I live in a Polish city but I put myself in your shoes and enjoy this life tremendously.
More films like that, please.
Your life is drastically different than mine, however I enjoy my environment as well. Yours is simpler and calm.
Love love you're video's. It is so nice to see you're all again. Wish you can make a video every week. Love the nature there. Hope the sheep will be okay and that there will be more of them. Ivar is talking so much now. He is growing up. Wish to see more of you're video's. Greetings 🙋🏻♀️🐑🐏🐑🐏

Hello from Canada :) love your little homestead, we all start somewhere and just learn as we go, wow! you have a lot of snow there just like our north hear, Looks like you just love the outdoors, good job stay safe out there :))
I kept saying aloud that maybe a collar and lead rope would be easier on you. That's how I moved my llama's when they weren't cooperative. 😊 I just love your videos!
