This is a "gateway" video for many people to get into Voiceplay. My first full video I watched with them was "This Is Halloween." I thought the vampire was hot, and loved the run at the end, so decided to watch more of their stuff. So I watched a few videos, and liked them. But then THIS came out, and blew me away. I lost count in the high double digits of how many times I watch this over the next couple weeks! And a love affair (albeit one-sided) was born! What's funny is I realized later that I HAD seen them before, although it was with Tony, not J. None. I watched a bit of their Phantom of the Opera, but I was a Phan and a bit of a snob about it (having seen it done with the original cast) and didn't know what the heck was going on in the Voiceplay version-didn't even realize it was A Cappella. So I stopped watching it. Then after I became I a Voiceplaya, I came back and watched it and wondered "What the Hades was I thinking??? This is AMAZING!!!"
VoicePlay are unique. As you said they bring a capella to a whole new level. In things like Valhalla Calling, or Dragonborn Comes (from Skyrim) they just excel at the theatrical style.
They have quite a few from 'Nightmare Before Christmas'. Kidnap The Sandy Claws This Is Halloween Movie Boogie Man and another I cannot recall at the moment Geoff also has done Jack's Lament on his personal RUclips channel. All are excellent... of course!
This was the song that introduced me to VoicePlay. I love the Nightmare Before Christmas and RUclips suggested this video. I fell in love and haven't looked back! ❤
My current favorites are: Valhalla Calling Drunken Sailor and Boy Bands in 5 minutes But the one I can't stop watching is Butter It has the usual exceptional vocals, but there is so much happening in the background it takes multiple viewings to see it all. I can not tell you how many times I have watched that video but I always see some new lunacy taking place behind the singer.
A reactor peter barber, who's the member of the bass gang, has a interview podcast called a life of bass that's on his RUclips channel. He interviews Geoff castellucci in 1 episode. Geoff states that at one time or another each member(Maybe not all of them,) worked for Disney. Another reactor Qofy Who did an Interview with J. None who also talks about how Many of them worked for Disney.
Geoff is that one uncle who takes Halloween a touch more seriously than necessary and I'm 100% here for it (Edit): probably shouldn't have put the words "uncle" and "touch" in the same sentence, triggered some memories
Continuing the Nightmare Before Christmas theme, have you reacted to Geoff’s cover of Jack’s Lament? Perhaps one of his best performances. You guys are great!
Now go back and pay attention to Geoff in the background when Layne does the "to add a little spice" line. Also - it'd be more appropriate for Danny Elfman to hear it (we can hope), since he did the music. 😉
Just letting you know... Voiceplay released their Christmas video on Patreon Saturday. It is hilarious. Geoff Castellucci told us on Monday morning his Christmas video is almost ready for Patreon. So they should be releasing them to RUclips soon. On a side note... Eli became a dad 2 weeks ago. His first public appearance will be in Voiceplay's Christmas video.
Great reaction as usual. This song with Hellfire and others , was part of their "ACA Top 10 Disney Villains Medley" they used in their live shows along with their other ACA Top 10 videos. They have something entirely different and goofy behind the door for release soon. Another Christmas gem is "Christmas Don't Be Late" the chipmunk song.
great reaction!! This sone was my first introduction to #Voiceplay - and i love it more every time!! If you guys wanna see Earl in a great feature roll - Queen in 5 Minutes.. its soo good!
Yes! So glad you got to this one! It’s beyond spectacular! I love this one very much! You guys’ reactions were awesome! I couldn’t click on this reaction quick enough! Lol
The voice of Sandy Claws is Eli but the body is Kathy Castallucci's brother, making him Geoff's BiL. (Someone before me said his name which I keep forgetting.)
Voiceplay are based in Florida near Disney World and familiar with that style of presentation so they do the theatrical presentation often. Another fun one is Queen in 5 Minutes if you haven't done it yet.
Please check out their version of “Halo theme”. Just make sure to react to the whole thing. There is a long talking bit at the end explaining why they did it and it is worth reacting to.
I recommend not comparing to other groups or using words as "no one can do as... X", "They are better than X", etc... These are three different groups, and a lot of people like more one thing than another. For example, in my case, Pentatonix and VoicePlay go first, I am not into Home Free, but a lot other people could say "Well you don{t know what you are saying"... So idk, I think that everyone like different things, and maybe saying "This is my favorite group" is not a problem, but using phrases which mean someone IS better than another one, etc, kinda as if it is an universal truth, can be bad for some people. (I don{t care but the way, but I have seen the groups wars, not recommended). Keep on going, love your reactions!
We appreciate the advice. We do like to share our thoughts and our opinions and fully respect people will agree or disagree. Everyone's different and this is just our side of different ☺️
I think you now can handle watching VoicePlay in The Hall of the Mountain King.😊
Appreciate that recommendation 😊

It's defintely a good intro song to experience their talents and the kind of things they can do. Thank you for sharing ☺️
Nice catch that Eli, Earl, and J are playing Oogie’s kids, Lock, Shock, and Barrel. Layne is playing Zero (Jack Skellington’s ghost-dog)
They did really well with it ☺️
VoicePlay are unique. As you said they bring a capella to a whole new level. In things like Valhalla Calling, or Dragonborn Comes (from Skyrim) they just excel at the theatrical style.
Couldn't agree more Christine ☺️
Santa is Geoff's brother in law. (Pasquale Palazzolo, I believe?) But I believe Eli did the voice for Santa
Eli is a voice over actor in his spare time. :)
Eli also voiced the Grinch in You're a Mean one Mr. Grinch and I believe the messenger in Hellfire.
Thank you for sharing the info ☺️
Eli is a fantastic voice actor. He has voiced in many of their videos.
Yes. That is who did Santa. He is wife Kathy's brother.
This is first song I saw of VoicePlay.
Awesome Kelley 😊
In that last section of the song Geoff drops down 4 octaves quite rapidly, this will be one of my favorite #Voiceplay songs of all time!
It is an amazing piece of music with fantastic talents
They also did Kidnap the Sandy Claws
They have quite a few from 'Nightmare Before Christmas'.
Kidnap The Sandy Claws
This Is Halloween
Movie Boogie Man
and another I cannot recall at the moment
Geoff also has done
Jack's Lament
on his personal RUclips channel.
All are excellent... of course!
Haha we will have to check them out ☺️
Ha ha … so glad you guys found this one. It’s the performance that took me down the Voiceplay rabbit hole.
Haha love it Marty 😊
This was the song that introduced me to VoicePlay. I love the Nightmare Before Christmas and RUclips suggested this video. I fell in love and haven't looked back! ❤
Thats amazing Traci 😊
My current favorites are:
Valhalla Calling

Butter

Sounds interesting Nancy. We will have to check it out 😊

Yes, #VoicePlay has such a great sense of theater and exceptional vocals.
Eli voiced Santa's lines and frequently does character voices.
Thats awesome Holly. Thank you for sharing ☺️
Santa is played by Geoff's brother in law, but the voice is Eli. He also did the voice of the guard who came in on Hellfire.
Thats for the info 😊
They are amazing. This takes hard work and oodles of talent. 🎃🤶.
Couldn't agree more with you on this 😊
Yes, please more #voiceplay Love your reactions and what you discover.
We are defintely enjoying the journey 😊
Geoff is that one uncle who takes Halloween a touch more seriously than necessary and I'm 100% here for it
(Edit): probably shouldn't have put the words "uncle" and "touch" in the same sentence, triggered some memories
Sorry to hear that Mity. Mad love and respect to you

Haha yeah couldn't remember who did the music. Definitely worth the shout out
If you like A Nightmare Before Christmas, Pentatonix also does a cover of one of its songs... Making Christmas. They do a great job of it too!
We will have to check it out ☺️
This was the song that introduced me to Voiceplay, and it couldn't have been more perfect
This seems to be the discovery point for alot of Voiceplayers 😊 Thank you for those recommendations ☺️

You're very welcome.
Geoff posted his on his Patreon yesterday. It is absolutely beautiful.
Voiceplay will release a Christmas video soon. It’s shorter than usual, but jam packed with fun!
Looking forward to it ☺️

Yes! So glad you got to this one! It’s beyond spectacular! I love this one very much! You guys’ reactions were awesome! I couldn’t click on this reaction quick enough! Lol
You're the best! We loved this one
Donald is correct, this is Geoffs brother-in-law. Peace friends.
Haha thats awesome 😂
The voice of Sandy Claws is Eli but the body is Kathy Castallucci's brother, making him Geoff's BiL. (Someone before me said his name which I keep forgetting.)
His name is Pasquale Palazzolo, so there is Italian on both sides of their families! No wonder Geoff 'sings with his hands'..!!
@@raycardy4843 The family ties are strong. That's his kid at the beginning of "Just Sing".
Thats awesome. Thank you for sharing
Definitely need to check out Geoff Castellucci solo. I would suggest "I See Fire".
Thank you for the recommendation 😊
I know it's the original line, but the irony of Oogie saying, "Oh brother, you're something!" when Santa is played by Geoff's brother-in-law. XD
Haha yeah very clever 😄
If I remember correctly the Santa is either Geoff's brother-in-law or brother.
Brother in law. But his voice is actually Eli.
Wow that's cool 😂

We will definitely have to check that one out Gail 😊
This was my first VoicePlay song - i found Geoff's channel first (if you havent watched it his Misty Mountains is great)
#VOICEPLAY
💯
You should see their take on "We don´t talk about Bruno" from Encanto for a little surprise
great song ❤
Defintely 😊
Friends, Gents have you noticed, that Miss Angelina put a Christmas EP out???
We have not seen it yet
Please check out their version of “Halo theme”. Just make sure to react to the whole thing. There is a long talking bit at the end explaining why they did it and it is worth reacting to.
Thank you for that recommendation Kirsten. We will check it out
I don't know his name but Santa is played by Geoff's brother-in-law.
