Matt's vocals were impossible back then, it was the best performance ever. What energy and emotion!!!

In terms of pure musical mastery, Muse are in the top 10 of all time, IMHO
Hell... I worked on the 2005 show in Rouen at Le Zenith... I didn't already know Muse well at this time, but I had watch a part of the show, and I found it mindblowing... Never saw that before. The walls of The place were wet... so much heat from the crowd... At the end of the sho, I've seen them just 5m from me... and never thought how much I could love theyre music 15 years later... Still got my "Muse local crew" T-shirt... it's a crazy memory...
Julienne my lovely.. Muse have lost der way. Wtf was last album bout? Boys need to go back to devon to find themselves again.. Dey saved me wen my father died 18 years ago.. I heard music again... ❤️❤️❤️
@@christinepower7973 They didn't lose their way, they evolved into their music while you got stuck in their past. I'm glad they're trying different things instead of doing the same thing over and over again.
Christine Power I totally don’t agree with you. I am a die-hard Queenfan and I can say that Muse stayed much more with their musical origins than Queen did. Queen drifted during the 80’s more from their classical style when they became more mediocre and made their music more accessible than their 70’s music. But the longer a band exist the more the die-hard fans experience they change. You aren’t either the same person as you was 20 years ago. That also counts for Matt, Dom and Chris. Of course they develop over the years and it’s logical their music sounds a bit different during the years. Otherwise they would have become boring. But compared with Queen, once again, Muse stayed more loyal to their musical origins.
You mean 2001 not 2005
@@miralex67 absolutely (ou absolument si tu y étais aussi...?)
Dead Star is such a kickass song especially live. In fact it's better live than recorded in studio.
Right?! I'm so happy they started off with it
In all courteousness, studio is always better than live. Thx. :D
Amazing setlist
@@MatthewandannmarieBellamy only if the singer can actually sing...
@@michaeltaylor2799 Hi there. :) In all courteousness, nicely correct. Matthew James Bellamy is perfect at studio as well as live. Thx! : D ♥️ 😺
Dead star is criminally underperformed. Holy hell! What a way to start a show!
I dedicate that one to my evil EX! 👿
Every single concert I have watched online of Muse has been fantastic and brilliant. I wish so much to see them live.
I’ve seen them 4 times live and each time is better than the previous. I’ve been to other concerts as well and they’re all pathetic compared to Muse
Hearing their songs live is like hearing them for the first time again

I went to their show in Moscow yesterday and today decided to re-watch that concert. It's amazing how much their concerts now are different from the gigs in the past.
Still the entertaining amount of drama though!
@@jackwho593 Drama? That's called performing!
Always find it incredible how heavy and powerful Dead Star is for 1 guitar and 1 bass, wild
This sound is so damn unique!! More than 20 years after I first heard this, it still blows me away
One of the best bands in the world ever! With a certified genius frontman. Love Muse!
that SCREAM 8:02
YAHTZEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
I love those early Muse screams. Pretty much explains why Matthew can't do them anymore though. Completely blown his top voice out.
Got this on DVD when it came out. Watched it religiously, took it to uni with me and would fall asleep watching it. Got all the other live albums afterwards, and with RUclips now we're spoilt for choice, but this will also be the ultimate one for me. DVD is missing now!
I wish I was there all these years ago 😭🥰
I was. And now I'm old 🙅
@@RousskiShinobi31At the time, I was in my own band and had no access to this! I'm old too, only a year older than Dom and 2 years older than Matt and Chris. 😭
It’s each time always more impossible to explain how much good they are

Thanks for this, OP.
One of the best live performances by any band ever.
Soulstorm9000 why did you say “one of”
@@tomboston4947 I agree with Soulstorm9000. One of because IMO another one of is for example 2013 in Rome at Olimpic Stadium. And I was very lucky to see Muse live in Poland in June 2019 in Kraków. Simulation Theory. Another one of best shows. And that are only few great shows by Muse.
Sorry if I made some grammatical mistakes.
Greetings from Poland.
Piotr Mizerski I don’t mean to be rude, but I believe English being your second language made you miss the sarcasm in my comment. By asking that question, I was implying that it is not “one of” the best live shows. It is THE best live show ever

Это божественная музыка!!!
Спасибо! Это просто фантастика! Muse♥️
There's litteraly enough to keep it in mind for a lifetime with that bliss final
Band's music always makes me wanna write a philosophical, futuristic post apocalyptical romance coming of age novel that unifies space time with our present state of being where the lead character battles his father to help save the known universe while wanting him to love him back at the same time. Haha! Yeah.
One of the best bass player!!!A machine FFS!!!!

Yes! 1 take Chris and football Fridays!

Micro cuts, citizen erased 😍 🤩🤩🤩 !
I can't believe they did Micro Cuts! 😱 Not even the longest Muser can sing that!
Even better than the album version. Those screams are just amazing. Shame they don't do that song much anymore but I can imagine this did a lot to Matts vocal cords
idk if anyone Will ever see this comment but...
This is the only performance that i could find in which he does the little lick in muscle museum
Space dementia 😍😍😍😍😍😍
I've always loved that they play the chorus/instrumental part to Dead Star wrong/differently at this gig. They play it straight ahead here, instead of off-timing like the album and I believe every other recording has it.
That Megalomania's intro is everything I could ever hope for 😭
Amazing performance!
I miss the fun, crazy, experimental and free Muse I fell in love with. Money hurts all artistic endeavours
No, fans like you hurt all artistic endeavors. You're saying you miss the experimental Muse, like they're not experimental nowadays. The fact that they're experimental is the exact reason why the "rock Muse fans" hate them now.
the pure ignorance and stupidity in this comment is mind blowing...
@@LuigiGamesful I love rhe 'old' Muse, but I think the current Muse is pretty fucking sic too. I can't say every band evolves in something that I find good. In fact, Muse is an exception!
@@LuigiGamesful he is right tho? They went more pop these days. Why you so mean?
@@novasoul99 "Pop" is such a broad generalization. Break It To Me sounds RATM-inspired. Dig Down sounds like a gospel song. Propaganda sounds Prince-inspired. KOBK and Won't Stand Down are both heavy, and We Are Fucking Fucked sounds dark and punk-ish.

sim theory was, yes very different, but i think its brilliant. im not rly one for synths but imo i think its a very strong album, the solo in blockades, the dark side, hell even thought contagion. brilliant vocals all round, sure something human is a little cheesy but overall id say its in my top 5 muse albums
I think we’ve lost Muse as a great band

I found that out on my honeymoon. I just went up to a guy and said: Excusez-moi, Par-lez vous anglais? He said oui and helped us out.
He also said, most people can speak English, but if you come to our country, learning a few phrases like you just did was the reason I helped you. Just FYI.

19:02 this is an unoficiall bass solo. I'm damn sure no one cares abt the guitar part at this point
I always laugh at people when they say that new Muse are not worse than old Muse :-).
and more people laugh at you. i get it old muse was more explosive and all that but they have to evolve with the times otherwise theyll fade into obscurity, matts voice is too mature for him to do all the stuff he used to. let them be what they want to be. in theory i think muse are just as good as they used to be before but i cant say simulation theory and some parts of drones interest me because theyre just not as good as the old stuff. but lets just appreciate that theyre still so talented and still play huge crowds to this day.
@@mag6740 Thank you for explaining me the evolution of a band I have been seeing live since 20 years. Just a question: which songs make the people sing along and go mad on their gigs? Sorry but I cannot share your justification that playing huge crowds is a sign of music quality. There are many artists filling stadiums and they are absolute crap. They are obviously enormously talented, Matt has been gifted with such a voice and guitar playing and that's why I miss what they did before.
@@educano2118 theyve said in interviews that their most stadium shaking and sing along tracks are madness, uprising, resistance plug in baby, time is running out and knights. think about that for a second. also listening to a band for a long time doesnt make you an expert on whats best for the band music wise, if they stuck to the same showbiz and origin of symmetry format theyd be stuck at "radiohead clone" and not one of the most dazzling live and studio bands britain has ever seen. go listen to old muse instead of sitting here whining on youtube nobody will see you as a "rough and tough cool guy" because you like the screamy explosive matt more than the collected and surreal one. let them enjoy and play what they want whining wont change their course.
@@mag6740 There is obviously an ocean between your thoughts and mine. I don't want to change anybody's mind nor I pretend to be a rough and tough cool guy. Listening to a specific kind of music makes you be a rough and tough cool guy? That's surprising, I didn't know that. If new stuff is so good, it is surprising why it rarely appears on their by requests shows from London and Le Cigale.
@@educano2118 no following the the stereotype that "Ooga booga new muse bad old muse GUd" makes you look like an inept ape, Its fine if you like their old shit just don't whine that they're changing because matt is genuinely unable to do what he used to without literally damaging his voice because he's going out of his range.
The band lost a lot of is quality's, this is music, today they make comercial songs, but low quality. The 2nd law was good but not perfect, it was the turning point.
Drones wasn't commercial
@@laughingchimp3468 yes it was, 2nd law was even less comercial then drones.
Absolution was shit.
personal opinion 2nd law is by far their worst album...
@@bobbykotick1163 Are you on glue?
This is muse
Everything they made after this amazing music is very bad
Excuse me, but what about Absolution, BH&R and The Resistance ? ( Other album are good too )
Others albums are not the problem ... the real problem is Matt's americanisation and his obssession of making Muse's gigs as american shows ... these old gigs show us that they can make a huge performance without all visual effects, dancers, and stop like that ... I like Simulation Theory, but the tour, is, for me, one of their worst tour ...
@@stephanielebrun3439 I don’t agree. Muse is still that awesome band and making epic and awesome songs. You can’t expect that a band doesn’t grow and develop with the years and stand still. It would be silly if they still were doing exactly the same thing as 20 years ago. And their shows also developed. With extra dimensions. They have to. They must keep challanged all the time. Don’t agree with americanisation of the shows. But I agree with you when you say the shows now are ‘machinalised’. Every move on stage seems to be scripted. Every gig the same moves on the same spots on stage. You couldn’t tell if you see the show in London, Amsterdam, Paris or Rome. It all looks the same. Maybe that has to do with compurised lightshow, gimmicks and pyro technics. I saw the ST tour concert at Lisbon. It was awesome in every sense of the word. Great band!! Great audience. Love Muse! ❤️😊
What about Drones? It’s a masterpiece
Tom Waits!!!
