Hey bro:) So my pc is very old it has a amd phenom 9550 from like 2007 but i have bought a new case and a SSD , the problem is that the mainboard doesnt support usb3 but my case has a usb 3 connector that i didn’t used cause of my mainboard. When i‘m installing the extension and then i plug the unplugged usb3 cable in the pcie extension slot is the front usb3 port on my case work?
Yes! This card has an internal connection for a USB 3 port on a case. So when you plug it in the case USB 3 will work. I had the same problem with my case.

hey i know im a couple years late but i just built my pc im plugging everything in now but i bent 2 of my usb 3.0 pins and cant unbend them if i get this extender will i be able to use my 3.0 usb again and have it function the same way?
Hey, so i bult my pc but broke the 3.0 usb conector on the mobo so i can nolonger use the usb 3.0 ports on the case, if i plug this in will i be able to use them? Thanks
It is a USB 3.0 internal motherboard connection. My PC case had one USB 3 port but my motherboard did not, so i used this card to make the cases USB 3 port work.
@@ZackEberly so the blue slot in pcie is optional and is for pc case usb 3 slot...correct? My card has come from Amazon.de but had No cdrom drivers, i already contacted seller...
I have a card reader port that has micro sd, cf, an as slot and another usb 3 port. It connect to my motherboard by a 20pin usb 3.0. All the ports work besides my sd card slot. Why might this be?
one question for installing the drivers can I download online instead using the disk? cause I am planning on getting a new case which it doesn't have dvd rom bays

That's not a 20 pin power connector. You power it with a molex (4 pin connector). The 20 pin on the USB card is for your PC case if it has USB 3 ports. Your motherboard might already have a USB 3 connector (20 pin). This card is for extra USB 3 ports and giving older motherboards a connector that your case's USB 3 can connect too.
Thumbs up! I need 1 of these because I got the a H500M PC case for theBeast, I9 9900k with a 2080TI. It has 4 USB 3.0 and 1 Type C right in front of the case and my motherboard, z390 Auros Master only supports 2 and 1 of these connections. i was scary seeing you bend the molex out. you should have pluged in teh molex adaptor first, then connect the adaptor to the power supply plug, then plug the usb cable.
I have plenty of USB 3.0 ports in the back of my MB. Here is the problem that I have my PC case has 3 USB 3.0 front panel ports and my motherboard only has one USB 3.0 Header so I was only able to connect 2 of the 3 USB ports but I need an additional port in my motherboard to connect the 3rd USB front panel port. Can I use this PCI card to connect that USB 3.0 port in my front panel case?
Sometimes I don't know my own strength, and i don't think unpatient is a word... impatient. But anyway I was young and stupid and just barely built my first gaming pc, 4 years later I'd be a lot careful.

I went and bought another model of the same reader and the sd card slot worked so I must have just messed mine up. Thanks though

Yeah.. actually i'd recommend installing drivers from the internet because they are probably going to newer.

The slot in my computer looks different because it's a long slot will this still work in it?
Yes, in the video i have a 1x slot. It can be used up to a 16x slot.

Where come blue socket after connect molex socke
The Blue slot is for an extra USB-3 connections (front panel IO). You do not need to use the blue slot in order for it to work.

Yes... thats what i did. I had a front usb 3 with no plug in on my motherboard and the PCI card works very well.
