I just love how half of the bosses are completely unrelated to the Addams Family. Like they created a totally different game, but on last minute they slapped the Addams Family in it.
Don't you just hate it when you're at your house working on a new kind of poison with a wacky scientist whose actually just a floating head surrounded by saw blades when your dad suddenly walks in and slaps the shit out of him for no reason? I certainly do.
If you think that’s bad, try taking on a giant witch flying around your house with your amnesiac uncle as your back up and all he could do is pace back-and-forth like Rain Man.

Even though this game is a poor representation of a Movie...as a game it's quite the diamond in the rough...The best way to explain the gameplay is Super Mario if it had all the exploration elements of Metroid...and that's pretty fkin cool
Is this done as a cash grab on the new animated movie or was this just for nostalgia I don’t know but I literally do not like the animated movie coming out soon it’s because it’s CGI in the characters just don’t work like that
I hate to be That Guy but Ocean was more of a games distributor than maker, the ol' LJN model of 'pay someone else to make the game and don't even look at it before you ship it.' In fairness making a good movie-based game is more about luck than anything else, since generally you might only have a few months between securing the rights and the release date. The only way you're going to have a chance in hell of it being any good is if you already have a prototype for a different game laying around that you can quickly modify to fit the theme, and are willing to sacrifice... in which case of course it's going to be generic because all you have time to do is re-skin the characters.

@@ikagura It's a really subjective question. If what you mean is if any of their games could be considered hidden gems that you might want to go back to now and play? No, definitely not, they sucked. Their games fell almost exclusively into two types: movie tie-ins like this one, which were easy, cookie-cutter, and generally didn't even have all that much to do with the movie they were tied into; and worse-version ports/rip-offs of more popular titles, which could still be good (like Gryzor) even if they were inherently inferior to the game they were trying to emulate. But if you're asking if they had any games that were fun to play back then, hell yeah! I loved running around as Batman or RoboCop as a kid, even if I know now that it was mostly because I just liked the idea of playing as some bad-ass hero the older kids were all talking about, and not so much about the games themselves. Their really big advantage for a kid in the 80's and 90's was that same problem as above: they were easy and cookie-cutter. An Ocean game you could pick up on Friday and by Sunday when your parents had to return it you probably had it beat (and the awesome music would be stuck in your head for the rest of the week); it was a good weekend. Meanwhile I hated games like Mega Man and Battletoads and Ghosts 'n Goblins, all way, way better games, but too hard for my kid-brain to even get a start with. You never got any real good games but you didn't get bad ones either, they never switched up the controls on you or glitched out or made you start over with no continues or anything.. you just got a solid game to spend your weekend on after you finished your homework and that was more than enough. If you want the best possible explanation, just think about the Angry Video Game Nerd's most common complaints: no continues, bad controls (like switching out the A and B buttons), bad music, crap AI or level design; Ocean games nearly never did any of those things, and he's barely even mentioned the company's name in all his videos. They were the games he compared others to. Just the standard.

Play the game and you'll really grow to appreciate it. The platforming is so punishing that the harsh but clear audio cue is really welcome.
