I used to play this game on my aunty's NES when my Dad would take me to Bundaberg to see his relatives back in 1993 - her name is Trish and she's the most amazing person. She used to laugh at us trying to play her NES then she would totally school us and nearly beat every game we were playing in one sitting 😆
The best game on Sega megadrive..I reached that last door before Morticia..I had this game on cassette and when u turned it it was another great game on it what wasn't even on picture..So many mysteries and hidden rooms I loved it..
I remember playing this when I was 9. I had to figure everything out since it was 1992 & there wasn’t any walkthroughs on the internet I was aware of. It took quite a few tries, because I found saving Wednesday from the deep freeze always cost me a life that I needed for later. The first time I got to the end, I had to go back and find more money. cause I didn’t have the million needed to go through the last door to save Morticia. Finally beat the game and it was so very satisfying. I didn’t even know you could just rescue Morticia without killing Tully. Over the years I would pick up them sticks from time to time and play it again just for fun. One of my favorite games of all time.
This version is based off [The Addams Family ] 1991 film with a few changes Mortica in the film is the only one captured by Tully Alford and loneshark Craven .
It's like watching 10 yr old me play, although I never figured out where/how to get into the attic. Definitely one of my favorite go to games next to Mario 1 and 3
wow... 28:50 was enough. If you played this game in the 90s, you will know that in the first half hour you couldn't even figure out what you needed to do, at most you rescued Wednesday in the freezer, learned how to make the crypt and collected the money that rained down. on the terrace But not even close to being able to pass it on. Quite difficult and poorly balanced. Given how easy it is to take damage or lose lives, the game should offer you a lot more extra lives, especially in dungeons. Or failing that, don't force yourself to go back a few screens after achieving the objective. I've spent it on an emulator and with many, many saves, but to play it as is... you would need a master's degree after playing many many hours and having some luck. The game only gives 2 lives... Otherwise he remembered it fondly. a rather ingenious and unusual game. But looking at the walkthourgh now I was never close to passing it. Also, at 6,7,8 years old, the language was a handicap, but I think it would have made no difference. The diving mission is terrible!!! and then you have to do it in reverse to get out.
Surprisingly, I have never seen such a game. I know about the other part, I remember I didn’t like physics in it. And here with the management everything seems to be fine 👌🏻
9:20 - I hate this picture frame, you can't go into a picture frame anywhere else and at the beginning I can't even just jump in, I thought I need to free Pugsley before, as there's a hint that he shrunk and can get into small spaces now but this is totally misleading. The reason why I could never finish this game before the internet was this damned picture frame. I collected all the money but missed these and it's enough to prevent you from entering the vault.
wanted to like this game but found it to be too dang tedious. I enjoyed the challenge and slippery controls of robocop 2 and darkman....just can't seem to get into this one
The one thing I like about Ocean games on the NES is that they have sound/music that’s similar to the C64 SID sound. Edit: Anyone else think of the word “Cereal” when they hear The Addams Family Theme? That 90’s cereal commercial really worked - “The Addams Family…Cereal.”
I couldn't finish this game ever, besides it was brutal HARD, I didn't speak English at all so I just walk around randomly and try to get the stuff missing from the select page, so you could imagine how disastrous this was, nevertheless I loved this game for its music and had countless playing hours along my best friend and his siblings since they were who got the game.
Very well played! Have you ever been able to enter the closed door that is on the right as soon as you enter the mansion? it is the only thing I have never been able to decipher in this game, it remains a mystery after 30 years, maybe it is really a door that does not lead anywhere and it is placed there on purpose to generate doubts in the player... greetings from Argentina, Buenos Aires.
I thought the screenshots in Nintendo Power looked amazing but I never got to play it as a kid. Once I got it running on an emulator, I realized I had not missed anything.
All health items are a "one and done." And they're severely limited. This is almost like survival horror. A very flawed one. Plus this has one of the worst swimming stage in all platforming. I usually use up Thing's power there. The home Computer versions fared much better.
Yeah, from what I remember there are only like three bits of cheese through the entire game. The swimming stage was awful. The ceiling and floor hurt you like the TMNT seaweed and the controls were ridiculous.
I think i may have finished it once as a kid. This was among one of the most frustrating games out there on the nES along with ninja turtles. one thing i never got tho, is why do you fight fester and gomez at the end? fester maybe as its based on the movie, but yourself?
“The soundtrack takes a big hit - that chirpy PSG chip was truly the Master System's Achilles' heel - but that's a very worthwhile compromise in this case.“ Naw I can’t listen to the ms sound, it’s not videogame sound but just a few voices going off. Now if it has the fm expansion and the games an fm game and the fm is turned on it’s a different story. MS fm sounds leagues above nes. If the manual tells you everything for this game it’s good it was like a ritual back during the nes to see what you had to do to adapt to the controls.
I remember i play this type of game but it's in black and white on gameboy (not newer version of adam family game tho)..but im not sure the title.. help
And I thought Fester's Quest was horrible! I'm digging the graphics and music. But the terrible controls, the lack of invulnerability frames after getting hit by an enemy and the swimming. It makes FQ look like a masterpiece. I'd hate to see the Master System and Game Gear version of this since that is apparently the same exact game.
The game's graphics and idea are fine, but the game sucks. The gameplay is so cheap, it won't give you time to avoid traps nor hints. It's hard to find itens to recover health. It's pretty obvious they made this game focused to kill you, not to test your skills or giving you a good time.
My favourite NES game as a kid, never managed to finish it though. Glad to have some closure after 30 years
It was a really good game!
So much memories ,great game from days when life was better ....

wow that door in the library what have I been looking for all this time..Thank you, now my childhood soul can rest in peace😅
This game was fucking HARD. I had it as a child. Spent countless hours and never came far.
I still remember the levels and melody lol
My play always ended at diving place lol. Just like in turtles
One of the best games of NES.
Ah back in the back when we had no way to save and had to start all over again! Kids today will never know the struggle! 😅
I think the furthest I got in this game, as a 9 year old, was The Wood. Game overs were brutal.
9:30 There was no way to get the required amount of money without finding that portrait frame money room. But there was no hint at all.
Ben tesadüfen bulmuştum sonra bütün potrelere girmeye çalışıyordum :)
The Addams Family for the NES looks and sounds great, but be warned: it was made by Ocean.
Looking and sounding great was pretty much all that mattered to every single major UK/Europe-based developer until 1994.
Whats up with ocean games? I only knew to avoid those rainbow games, JBL(?)
@@Arendvdvenk Most of them looked great and played horribly.

Thank you both gor clearing that up
Finally I have seen the end of the game addams family. This game was really hard to me. When I was child...

Hey bro, what was the name of the console that used cassettes? I played on one almost 30 years ago and can’t find it anywhere to look it up.
Mine was Sega mega drive 2..But it was different type in US and Europe..
Çocukluğumda ataride oynadığım en güzel oyunlardan biriydi .3 haftada bitirmiştim :)
Bende yeri başka müziğini duyunca yine o zamanlara gittim.

I think this is the first game where you can bypass the final boss and go straight to the ending.
Well, what about classic super mario? You can jump right straight to destroy the bridge instead of beating bowser by shooting fire..
@@felixuy87 You're not avoiding the boss, that's another way of killing him.
Ah , memories, i was playing this game when i was a 8 y.o , this game harder than god of war
Such a great gameplay. Thank you, I totally enjoyed it.
Yo I totally forgot about this game! So fun as a kid!!
Great game, off top.
Now, that dang locked door by the left of the hallway...
It's a mystery
What kind of house does Gomez live in damn... everything that moves will hurt you
The Addams Family truly are creepy, kooky, mysterious, and spooky.
Don’t forget altogether ooky
@@enlongjones2394 I knew that.
Dios que recuerdos!!!!! Horas en este juego más que nada porque amabamos la música ❤️😅
Great! One of the high scores, "DT" and "RET" is likely to be Dave and Bob Thomas, work-for-hire programmers and artists.

ALL BOSSES

RESCUED

The cheap shots are cracking me up 😂
Hmm sure does look like your everyday Ocean-published game. And top it off with that damn "fi-fi-fi-fi" as you get hit.
Well damn that looked easy? 29 minutes ?? Good grief, as a 8 year old i spent HOURS and never could get to the $1 million. So many game over screens..
It's like watching 10 yr old me play, although I never figured out where/how to get into the attic. Definitely one of my favorite go to games next to Mario 1 and 3
This game is janky as hell but at least it hits a lot of the references of the actual IP
At least it’s not Fester’s Quest.

I've read a soluce to be able to finish the game tonight. The guy said he didn't know how to unlock this door either and was asking the same question.
I thought the screenshots in Nintendo Power looked amazing but I never got to play it as a kid. Once I got it running on an emulator, I realized I had not missed anything.
Awesome underground music
it took me like forever to pass this game, but i've made it back in those days when i was a kid and could not really understand english.
I knew I didn't hallucinate this game, for some reason I couldn't find this version for a long time.
Wonder if this was intended for 50hz? The theme song plays an octave lower in PAL, like it did in the TV Show.
It was made by a British studio so that might well be the case.
I loved this game
I had the game boy version of this game
