I am in Tanzania. In the tropics weather. I have tried this method. It has been very successiful. Though I used garden soil and manure instead of leaf mould to make the dough. It has taken at least 45 days for the roots to form . I thank you so much. Keep up teaching us more of such techniqes.
I am satisfied with your explanation you are being such a good inspiration too many farmers around the world as your intention is Purely very helpful thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing such a wonderful way of doing on grafting
Thank you so much, sir. My neighbor has a large guava tree growing right near the fence and some of its branches grow over to my side. I now look forward to cutting and making new trees for us to enjoy for pennies on the dollar!!!!!
@@GardeningismyPassion Good morning. Thank you for your videos, I'm in the Bahamas and it has also worked for me with Asian guava and soursop and key lime. Thanks
Hello Dr. Surja. I tried your method and it was a great success. I am in Central Florida. I did air layering on my guava tree on September 20, used mixture of horse manure and garden soil. In 29 days root were well formed. I am very happy! Thank you so much !
I am watching from phils. I will do it here also the same, nobody knows that process so i think it will work. So i will sell the cuttings for 5 INR. equiv. To 60 pesos. Very nice, educated and good for business. Thanks a lot bhai sabb, dosra koi nahie hehehe
Great video. I particularly like the way you just use a mixture of local ingredients for the 'dough' and bits of discarded plastic bag for sealing it in place after removing the cambium layer. I was just about to try to propagate my new Psidium cattleanium by putting cuttings in a misting propagator but your method is so much easier and probably more effective. I love the dough idea for layering. Thanks for posting this.
This video was very helpful, and easy to understand. I needed to know this information to make cuttings from my red Malaysian guava tree. This was a very easy method you showed.😊 Thank you for taking the time to share🤗

thank you for sharing your wisdom and experience. the screen fonts are very helpful in highlighting the very important aspects during the video. an especially great demonstration of the plastic being tied and the location at the nodule. well done sir 😊 from australia.
Watching you from Florida ,excellent video , I have just bought a guava plant for $18.00 it is about 3ft tall I am going to try your idea to get a few more plants out of it ..,will post results later .
Dear Sir, I am very grateful for watching your beautiful program which reflect yours expertise in the field. I am newcomer have no knowledge in this regard. PL guide me how to start to learn work from vary begining. I am Riaz from Karachi Pak. Awaiting your reply Best Regards
Very clear and easy to follow demonstration and instructions. I will try to use your technique to propagate my only guava tree. Thank you...New friend here from Texas, USA 🇺🇸.
Im going to try this with an extra large guava tree....the tree is small but fruit is as large as my fist....i will let you know if it worked gor me here in Mexico.
@@GardeningismyPassion I done it successfully, planted it in a pot, plant is now 2.5 feets height, 3 to 4 branches developed nicely with in 2 months, and fruiting started after 2 months. I give it cow dung compost, cocopeat, vermicompost once in a month. Monkeys are destroying my other air layering portion out of curiosity. So to prevent them I applied thick layer of grease on outer portions of air layering portions in mother plant 🌿 and found good results. Thanks a lot for your advice. ♥️
Thanks for your ideas. My plant after flowering, the fruits last only one week. The plant and flower is healthy, I had it tested but nothing helps. Will appreciate your response. Live in tropics.
Sir your all videos are excellent. One suggestion is kindly tell the viewers the appropriate season for all the process like grafting, prooming, seedling of various plants like Adenium etc. In every video kindly tell us the right time to do the process. Thanking you.
I liked all your video seen very very use ful to garden ing hobby person This has created lnspiration to my dormant desire of gardening experimental Thanks
Olugbenga Afolabi , I grow exotic fruit plants from the seeds of fruits purchased from the market. You can also do the same. But they fruit in many years. Best way to get early fruits is to purchase grafted plants from nearby nurseries.
I am going to try this on my mango tree. The mangoes are very big and sweet. But many mangoes grow so far away and high up that I cannot pluck them all. Some of them fall on the neighbors' grounds and many fall to the ground and get severely damaged. I hope to propagate it into many smaller plants so that I can get all the mangoes. I am also planning to try some cleft and veneer grafting. I am newly addicted to this and I thank you for all your informative videos. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for the reply sir. I will be using those methods too, but I am very curious to see if this air layering method also works. I will add some cutting aid (rooting hormone powder) and organic growth booster to the dough to give it some boost. Hope it works. Fingers crossed :) I don't have any leaf mould though. I will use vermi compost, gardening soil and a little coco peat. I have oven fried the compost and soil as par your instruction on another video.
Many thanks for the great education you are giving us. There are times my guava airlayering has taken just too long to give roots. What could be the cause?
Excellent job Doc! Your videos are very informative. Could you advise me how to promote fruiting of my old Red Guava tree which is not fruiting after I had pruned it. It’s leaves has grown back and it’s quite a mature tree! Appreciate your help! Thanks. Vijay from Malaysia.
Guavas fruit on the new years growth. Cut your tree to about 1,6m down in your spring time, ALL branches you cut down to 6 nodes. those nodes will grow into new branches in spring (no matter when your spring is) and produce fruit. This you do every year, cut all branches back to 6 nodes every spring. Guavas only carry fruit on NEW GROWTH
