      I know this might be a dumb question but I have never made a pie and I thought you might be able to help me... for the pumpkin crust do you bake it first then put the filler in the crust and bake again or do you bake the crust and filler together? And for apple pie what do you do for that crust?

    When would you take out the pie crust during the blind bake to remove the parchment paper, and put it back in to dry it out? Would it be blind bake with parchment and dry beans for 15 minutes and then 7 minutes just by itself?

      Hi there, I wait until I have the filling in it to bake the crust. That is what really determines how long you have it in the oven and at what temperature. So if you bake your pumpkin pie for 15 minutes at 425 degrees, then 35 minutes at 350 degrees, this will work. If you're using the crust for other fillings, it can be baked in as little as 20 minutes at 425 degrees. Hope this helped.

    How do you measure 12 tablespoons of butter? Isn’t there an easier way of expressing this in either cups or ounces or grams. Your butter obviously was not put into tablespoons to measure so you must have another way of measuring.

    • @TheQuaintHousewife
      @TheQuaintHousewife  Год назад +2

      Tablespoon marks are found on sticks of butter to make it easy for people to measure and cut them up. 1.5 sticks of butter is also 12 tablespoons is also 3/4 cup.
