Note:
1. The AFMF will work with Radeon 700M Graphics, they can be found in the following chips:
Ryzen 7040 Mobile Series
Ryzen 8040 Mobile Series
Ryzen 8000G Desktop Series
Ryzen Z1 Extreme
Ryzen 7 7840U
2. Make sure to use AMD Adrenaline Overlay to monitor game FPS. All other overlays will mis-display the actual FPS count or prevent AFMF from working.

@MiracleHall200 No, they are all pre-set to be destroyed in January of 2025 per the licensing agreement. The three companies' lawyers will start coming to each owners residence at the licenses expiration date of 1-1-2025 and firmly ask for the handhelds to be given back for destruction. If the customers refuse to give it back then the FBI will swoop in and promptly arrest them on Grand Piracy charges. You will own nothing in 2025.
😂 I'm joking, the devices will OF COURSE still be around, but i'm sure newer devices may come out by then & they may then stop selling them from the original manufacturers at least. But even then the devices will surely be on Amazon , Ebay and other storefronts if that is what you are asking.

AMD annoyingly doesn't mention it at all but AFMF works with Vulkan games too btw, for anyone trying this, I tested it on red dead redemption 2, since it has Vulkan. also it stacks with FSR2/3 so technically it doesn't need to be disabled, but stacking it might reduce visual quality.(I been beta testing it on PC since day 1, since the first iteration of the driver that only worked on 7000 series gpu's)

keep vsync on rog ally has a 120hHz display you only keep it off if your FPS passes the vsync limit most cases keep your FPS capped at 60 then use AFMF to bring it up. if your actual FPS is lower than 60 then use FSR2 in the game to get to 60 then turn on AFMF. better yet just use Radeon enhanced sync it'll activate VRR on the screen i would still cap the frames for consistency.
a lot of people dont understand how the vsync works with AFMF its literally just dont pass your refresh rate on your screen for obvious reasons. higher the refresh rate of the screen the more frames you can have with AFMF.

What about VRR? It's not compatible with Vsync.
@@Kewlzter that's what the enhanced sync is for in the AMD drivers. The new windows update also allows for vrr enablement in games that don't support it in the graphics settings.

@@Kewlzter that's if the frames are passing your monitors frequency. Enhanced sync is fine.
Not working for me. I have the Legion Go. It has overlay in portrait and also it says "not compatible with the games display mode". Meaning it's thinks it's in portrait mode which doesn't exist in a PC game so incompatible?
My rog ally had a Bios update and then i couldn't find the motion frames anymore reason for this?
I though AMD initially said that VSync should be enabled for proper frame pacing? Guess to many people complained and that they altered the algorithm. The smoothest image should be produced from a locked frame-rate by the way; for example, say the ROG Ally can consistently do 40FPS in Cyberpunk then you should get a consistent ~80FPS.
I tried to install the driver from AMD's website. It didn't work. How do you get these drivers to install on the ROG alley? Thanks.
Hey do you think can make an updated guide on ps3 emulation on the steam deck? rpcs3 has been a REAL pain for me even before I got myself a steam deck. I don’t really have the SD card reader for the whole PS3 roms and stuff, so I wonder if you’re able to do it through the deck itself. Please and thank you.
i dont. think you can do from deck. but you can just get pkg files they are easy to play. iso are harder to decrypt.

Did this, get error that isn't compatible with game's display mode. Hdr is off, vsync is off, tried windowed, borderless and full screen. Same thing. Still doesn't work. I don't have the green check next to game settings in adrenalin
Yeah I tried like 3 games and got the same result on my Ally. Oh well.
AFMF not show the fps count
I can't get the FPS to show in the Adrenaline Overlay. It just says N/A

Yes you are right. Z1 extreme use 780M graphics not 789.

Any reason why I should delete AFMF? Just asking because you show how to uninstall.
It’s a preview driver and was not specifically made for z1 &7840 chip so it might have compatibility issues with some games no one can guarantee it works with every games right now. In this scenario , you may want to remove it .

You can clearly see a lot of shimmering around the edges with (AFMF), maybe Anti-Aliasing set to High/Ultra can fix this?

hi, I followed perfectly how to install the drivers for the AMD FMF but whatever I do it never activates, I put fullscreen on, I deactivated FSR but nothing there is no way ti activate It and even my basic performances drops a bit..

maybe try with different rom files. nothing is updated only EmuDeck got updated the process should be same no change at all.
I tried to do the same thing. I think it’s because of the update changed it so that means you cannot get it.

This update made the performance worse and stuttery. I ended up uninstalling it

which game do you try to play with? It might have compatibility issues with some games but you can turn it off per game setting.

@@buhshmuhyou not lying. I did the same. I tried with a few games and latency was bad. Lots of big dips causing it to stutter. Ill dwn load again later and try on few other games but no lie it was not good. I never even seen my ally hit those low fps before.
why we cant use this combined with fsr?

How did you turn off FSR on Alan Wake 2?
just make sure the display resolution & rendering resolution are set exact same. in this case, the FSR will be off.
@@ED4T already tried that having native resolution. But the AFMF is not enabled. vsync off and fullscreen.
@YelNatSttocS have you checked per game settings make sure AMFM is turned on per game setting. Also turn off other overlays only use fps count from AMD adrenaline

yes, it has no issue with AMD freeSync. but Vsync should be disabled.

@@QUIKCaspa i tried on my z1, but i downloaded the driver for Radeon 740m, not 780m, the driver was updated, i was able to play palwolrd at 1080p
the legion go doesn't work with this on it's inbuild display as its not compatible with portrait displays it only works with external displays i tested it i really hope an amd or lenovo fix comes out for that.

I don’t have legion on hand to test this. If this is true then all other windows handled pc with 7840u will not function neither since they are all portrait display as well.
yes I can confirm this also. Even the in-game overlay from AMD shows up in a stretched, vertical way and no game I tried works with Fluid Motion Frames.
Its work on Lenovo legion go. Tested on Ratchet, spider man, Witcher, Cyberpunk, Hogwarts and emulators.
@@francoisblain2782 are you sure? I tried cyberpunk too and its not working at all. Can you bring up the overlay and check that its actually working, and not just "enabled"?
it only works in portrait mode with a comical aspect ratio or an external display unless you have some sort of secret fix lenovo and amd are meant to be working on this.
Which windows are you using? Have you installed a fresh manual Windows? Does it make a difference in terms of performance?
It’s stock windows 11 from Asus Rog Ally. I never re-installed new windows on it. You don’t have too unless the windows11 is completely broken. I don’t think install fresh windows will make a difference on Performance.

A fresh windows installation WILL improve performance if its infected or corrupted or setup incorrectly
Yeah im going to wait until and officially releases it for my ally because this was to many steps just wait until they offically release it then it will just be atomically updated once you turn it on and say update available

I honestly dont think AFMF is worth it since the trade off is insane input latency
Hallo my friend a do all step by step ...but if i start a game ... The AFMF say that my game is not in Fullscreenmode.... But it is 100% at Fullscreen.. plz help
try to switch from fullscreen to windowed then switch back to fullscreen. sometime it stuck just try to swtich between different screen mode. also make sure FSR is dsiabled, Vsync is disabled. HDR is disabled too.

I have a legion go and I did this. Long story short, it didn't help. So I decided to install stable new drivers and the adrenaline software wouldn't install correctly and I tried every way possible to get it to work properly and it wouldn't. I ended up having to reinstall windows. Hope this doesn't happen anybody else
Just wait for Asus to release it so you can use it without any problems. Dont listen to other people and mess around with your ally which can cause issue.
AFMF does not increase FPS

Looks blocky and stuttery. I’d rather have a crisp image at 45-60 fps than that mess at 100-120 gps.
