No, you can book the compartment suite first, and later purchase the Nikko pass either online or in Japan.
I did that during my last trip.
After I purchase, I didn't receive confirmation email. How long does it take for me to receive it?
It should be fast. You should be able to retrieve the invoice(log in again). Or can check if its in the junk mail.
