I really appreciate the roadmap you provided for one person businesses. It's clear that you have a lot of experience and knowledge in this area, and your insights are really valuable. I especially appreciated the tips on monetization and growing your brand with content. That's something I've been interested in, so it was really helpful to hear your perspective. Your advice on not getting stuck in one business ideology and being open to pivoting was also really eye-opening. I can't wait to check out your self-paced course on digital economics and see how it can help me grow my business. Keep up the great work, and thanks again for sharing your expertise!
I am not easily impressed by "self improvement business gurus", neither do I regularly comment on RUclips videos, but I have to say, you are a blessing and a genius, keep up the good work Dan Koe.
I found you yesterday. Everything you say is making so much sense to me. My last day of work was Friday, today is Sunday. I have liked and subscribed, because I’m spending the rest of today reviewing as many of your videos as I can so that I can make a roadmap for myself using my unique type and experience. You are an incredible gift Dan. THANK YOU!❤
This is possibly one of the greatest videos I have ever watched. You have made this all so straightforward and simplified it into Actionable steps instead of being vague like most people. Thank you so much for this Dan, it is truly appreciated!
You're the first influencer I'm ever going to purchase a product from, either the parasocial is insanely powerful or you're providing insane value for free 🤷♂️
Yea what's parasocisl. Also bro you're making the right choice. Such a blessing for your first product. Dudes a legend and honest as fuck. Can't wait for his book and software. I'm like you bro, I don't buy shit because I see through the noise, but this is the first time I'm excited for products from a creator and it's a great feeling to have the kind of relationship with someone online. 🤘
@@iGhostr the relationship that most content creators try to achieve with their audience. The sensation that they're watching someone they know personally despite never having met them. @@jordendarrett1725 try not to pedestalise influencers or you'll find it impossible to accomplish what they have. Dan's just a dude same as you and me, who's been doing the right things for a lot longer than us, that's the difference.
"when the student is ready the master will appear" I found your channel (by accident?) at the exact moment in life when I need it :) I'm going to use a lot ot your wisdom (and courses 😁) this upcoming year to build my brand of a language coach in Poland. Thank you, Dan 🙏🏼
This is BEYOND helpful. I've slowly been coming to a lot of these conclusions on my own (the early stage ones, because that's where I am), but having them articulated like this really hammers them home and helps me focus on what's next. Totally resonates with where I am right now and gives me a path for the future.
I am 19 years old, came from brazil and I have a financial goal for 2023, I created my house painting business in Massachusetts 1 year ago and this year I will do anything to reach my goals. Your videos help me see that the "boring work" is not boring is just a mindset. I play video game some times but I'm trying to stop the meaningless things in life. (its hard)

Was in a low today after shooting some new YT videos and getting in my head about marketing. This videos was insanely helpful to get my thoughts aligned and refocused. As a creator I always have moments of self doubt, esepcially while in the building distribution phase. I can say i ahve always had amazing products and services but never had distribution or understood it. Your channel has been an immense side kick to other learing mechanisms over the past year! Thanks and know you are appreciated!
Dan I've got say thank you. Ive been wading through an ocean of videos, looking to learn real shit, about different ways to be a one person business. What i've found is many people offering to teach how they did whatever they did. While never really giving any big picture ideas or honest commentary. Mostly just how easy it is to do whatever it is without really needing to lift a finger. Your insights are meaningful and profound. You are one of the only people offering this kind of truth. I thank you.
still one of my favorite RUclips channels, been off youtube for a while and I see your videos have improved incredibly man, congratulations. 100k soon.
It is amazing to think about the amount of your content that I have consumed, I don’t know how to thank you for these videos you produce. Watching your videos has made me realise that what I want to create is not impossible, I want to start a business that I am passionate about, that allows me to attain financial freedom without having to build an empire with thousands of employees. I’ve been having a hard time tying myself to a specific career and now I’m learning that I don’t have to, I can explore my interests, without necessarily having to go to College to study to get a job, share what I learn and monetise the knowledge I have.
Am a 50 yr old 30yrs solopreneur, I am very impressed with your delivery, eloquence & mindset. Of course your videos are teaching me a lot. Keep up changing the word, Sr.!
Interesting. If you must engage, I will kindly remind to always start with genuine curiosity. We don’t know what we don’t know… we we speak without knowledge or assumptions we loose the opportunity to communicate.

Grateful for your time & focus on creating this framework for building the “you” brand. 2023 is the shift time, may be uncomfortable in new territory yet the future is glowing 🎉
Really fantastic roadmap! I actually started out as a freelance content writer in 2009 and learned DR copywriting and email automation in 2017 and got into brand strategy shortly after (basically stage 2). I got trapped in working about 18 hours a day (not good), so I shifted (slightly, I'm still a consultant and writer) to a membership model with a newsletter (stage 3). Stage 3 actually felt the most natural because pattern recognition is really natural for me and I have lots of different experience (like my neuropsychology + cultural anthropology degrees -- with a dash of Star Trek -- I can bring to branding that carves out a space that's just me -- and makes it really obvious when people copy, which they do). I never consciously worked stage 1, even though I had a small-but-mighty, loyal audience through networking (rather than continuously testing out short-form content), so I'm going back to that stage to work that more intentionally to go even deeper with the other stages. And I do think with a model like this, it's more of a spiral where we continuously revisit the stages to reach a deeper depth (for lack of a better word) instead of just checking it off the list and not going back. I know I've found that as I've grown the last 13-14 years and have more of a community focus, my audience has grown and shifted, too, so it's beneficial to ditch the ego and experiment with new ideas, short content, and quick ideas to see what'll resonate with my current audience at their current level rather than getting trapped in this idea that "I'm beyond this." (Which is bullshit and limiting anyway.)
Thanks Dan, great video, thank you ❤️ I really need to start a consistent habit of using social media to spread the word about my business, your videos give me confidence that it can be done!
This is so good. There is so much to think about and implement in this 45 minutes, that im probably going to need to watch it a number times to squeeze out every nugget of gold thats here. Thanks so much for sharing. Im sure its going to save me years of me fumbling around by myself!
I have come across you time and time again and you never disappoint the way you think about concepts and things.. I feel the same way. Monetizing what I know and my experiences and my faith based concepts of life, love, and business. Thank you for letting me see I'm on the right track and stop letting other people put me in a biz model box. I'm hard to replicate with my thoughts and experiences and can't wait to join your community. I have been around the internet a little while and wish I had seen your concepts sooner. I have felt kinda lost with all the copying and crap stuff being taught. I feel like I had to be an expert in everything everyhwhere and lost myself for a minute. This has helped me come back to center. I love love love reading books and you have given me great ideas! Thank you Dan Koe!
Right on. What you want out of life is your personal brand or the unique signature that is supposed to attract the prospects and clients who resonate with you.
You’re not delusional. The proof is the success of your work. We’re slowly getting better. @18:25 That was powerful!! I agree 100% You are seriously helping me overcome bs excuses that I use to stop myself from doing this important work.
Gary V said it years ago... You already know enough to get started and make a transitional change in your life and business venture or ideas in the making. We (me included) continue to search, learn, watch and listen instead of just taking fcking action! Seek help and advice once you get stuck in your venture... Ready, Fire, Aim. Best of luck 👊 btw liked and subscribed haha. Great value here!!
Cheers, Dan. Great content and insight as always. Although, I'm not focused on growth right now; Writing newsletters is sticky business for a first-timer like me. You're putting out 2-3 newsletters before I can finish 1! Your connection between spirituality and business is 100% the reason why I followed along btw. Thanks to you, my interest in spirituality has the soil to grow. Your '7-Days to Genius Ideas' Challenge gave me a creative outlet for my ideas and perspectives. I am forever grateful. Even though I may be doing this wrong in terms of money and growth, I'm following my intuition to give out the most value I can.
With this video I can officially say for myself, I am starting to get the whole idea and the concept that Dan is teaching. Hale-freaking-lujah. I am excited to keep on growing. Thank you Dan.
Love how simple and easy to follow you make your videos. Huge help in focusing on what matters. It’s easy to get lost in the many things you can do when getting started💯
Very helpful birds-eye-view of the creator journey and what you need to prioritize when. Part of me wants to parallel process a bunch of this even though I'm a stage 1 creator. Obviously prioritizing growth makes sense early on though. Big takeaway for me was that Social Media growth is a learnable skill. I'm often tempted to believe it is random chance or getting in early - but no, it is a skill, and if I'm not growing it is because I haven't developed the skill.
Perfectly balanced, sophisticated and clear. Thanks for your work: the intelligent creative, grounded, multidimensional approach makes all the difference! It resonates and expands ideas and perspectives!
As someone who has been around awhile, worked in different fields, and has done a ton or two of reading on this and other topics, I have to say I’m pretty impressed with you so far. Your video is much more compelling than some of your written material, I think primarily because you definitely come across as real and wanting to be helpful - without the “salesman” approach that i am soooo tired of (and makes me want to pull my brain out of my head with my hand to show the salesman that I really do have one). So I am dipping my toe in for a bit to see what transpires. Looking forward to the journey.
Wow! 40 minutes video, i couldnt stop listening, very immersive. Intense value in there, i was just about to do this journey regardless, but this one provided me more then you could imagine. Intense mental clarity and its just a luck for me that is also what interests me most. Thanks for sharing, "As to methods there may be a million and then some but principles are few. The man who grasps principles can succesfully select his pwn methods" Very enlightening quote and content. Can't wait to catch up.
Dan thing is what I glean from all of this is that you are way smart, articulate. It’s obvious from what you say, how it flows out of you to camera. I take am now immersed in all of you r videos and courses but deep down I just don’t feel like I’ve for the brain power or intelligence to pull it off. But I’m gonna persevere coz as you say this can be looked upon as a lifetime of work and improvement.
I’m so glad that someone recommended your channel. Even though I’m not always following your speed, it’s very interesting and great to listen to someone who is very curious, open to constant learning and can put so many interesting concepts together in such an interesting way.☺️🌟 I’m a generalist who is interested in many things, especially human beings and life in general, exploring myself in it. I will definitely keep listening to your videos. Thanks a lot☺️
What you said about having a "Mental Monopoly" resonated with me big time. It's been literally happening to me every time I think of some things from your content that have impacted me the most. For instance: - If you're lost, educate yourself. After that, execute. Then stay consistent. - Social media makes you stupid. It's like being locked up in a room with all your best friends for a long period of time. It gets cringy. - We make sense of things by metaphors, concepts and stories. - If you're someone who's getting started and willing to get paid for something like a freelance service, why not just simply share that information online for free and get started as a creator. - Some people escape from reality, some people accept reality. Others CREATE reality. - Have a vision of yourself where you are a video game character with all maxed attributes. - You're the sum of the stories you tell yourself. You can rig the game in your favor. - When someone takes your advice, they're actually taking their own advice, not yours. A piece of advice comes from the sum of experience and perspective of reality you have. When someone takes it from you, they filter through their own sum of experiences and perspective of reality. - Your attention breeds life to whatever you're focused on. (RIP JIMMY) - "Crevices of reality" - I don't know, I just love those words together xD Thanks for dropping those nuggets. They've been literally changing my life. Please, continue on your journey to bridge the gap between the physical, spiritual and digital worlds. You're killing it dude 💪
hey man! the stuff you've written here is seriously meaningfully resonating. Could you share where exactly you found these guiding words in Dan's videos? Was it a specific one since I really wish to watch for myself
One thing I can say is like what you're putting down. You resonate with me and I like your style. I can make it fully discernible. Keep it up and maybe I'll see you in this class that I'm watching.😊
"...it's a competition with your distracted mind", that's very deep and resonates a lot with me, by watching your videos I am finding a lot of gaps that I have, please it would be very helpful to keep posting more stuff about one person business, very interesting, thanks
Excellent... It's interesting how creators often intermingle and trade their skills and followers into a larger community. Very different than for instance Coke vs Pepsi where they view their individual tribes as proprietary enemies lol. Thanks again for sharing! James
All of this is basically crazy to me, I had a brain injury so my comments sound like it, but still... It's all super... amazing. You're super deauxp and I'm like slightly baffled. Every video I watch is very interesting... I'm hungover with a headache atm, but .... yoooo ttyl
Also have had spikes up to 50k months 4x with less than 50k followers, but it wasn't sustainable. I can feel it in my bones that it is possible to keep this consistentttttt
This video is a treasure trove of insights for any content creator looking to evolve in their journey. I particularly resonated with the idea of using social capital as a means of growth and the emphasis on synthesizing big ideas in long-form content. However, I wonder if there's a risk of losing the personal touch in pursuit of these broader concepts. It's crucial to remember that at the heart of every successful brand is a unique voice and personal connection with the audience. Keep pushing the boundaries, but don't forget the power of individual stories and experiences in creating truly impactful content. Let's keep learning and evolving together!
i'm looking forward to learning about the software you're building for content synthesis. that's already a barely talked about subject but to have software to assist along the way would be a game-changer
My goal is to create a software company starting small with content creation to test market which includes a newsletter. If there are 100 steps (hypothetical) I must test each one on what works and what doesn't until I reach step 100. It won't happen overnight just as it didn't when I started weight training 10 years ago. 10 years ago I knew nothing about weights or form. I believe same principal applies to an on line business.
I want to be a lifestyle creator business, without making it serious but also not to frugal or careless lol. I’m trying to figure this out! Overall I love your channel! Great value!
Thank you Dan for making such relevant videos, so in-depth, much wisdom, so helpful for me who felt boxed at times with the niching down advice. Even your consistency advice is probably the only one I can accept. Also... I love the "this video is sponsored by me". Stealing it.

Thanks for this insightful information, working on my launch for this year and I know it’s going to be Great but the work before the launch will make it start to pay from the start. I am a new subscriber but looking forward to following more of your content. Thank Bro
I'm feeling really strong resistance to the stage two. That's super scary to me, so the question I ask myself is, do I figure out out how to skip it or go super all in on it BECAUSE it scares me. You've been super helpful, totally breaking my brain in such a fun way; and you're absolutely right, I'm into it because of the philosophical notes.
Great points here Dan. I started off with long content but have recently converted to short form and it has boosted growth and freed up my time for other projects. I reckon I'm still in stage 1 although I have a coaching business now which is growing also. The trick is to keep experimenting and finding ways to automate the systems.
@@rockabillyrevolution Sure. But I want to know, is that what either he _or others like him_ did or did they have someone else to teach them like he is doing? Most likely I'd suspect a mix of the two; but do you have any idea if that is so - if not for him personally, then others like him? Because purely random experimentation is exceedingly unlikely to yield results, and thus it makes sense also to build on what has come before to make it not random, but at the same time not to _rely_ on such prior work solely. So I want to know if that's what goes on in the heads of people like this or not.
Hope you guys enjoy this one.

Great video, Dan!

What is parasocial
Yea what's parasocisl. Also bro you're making the right choice. Such a blessing for your first product. Dudes a legend and honest as fuck. Can't wait for his book and software. I'm like you bro, I don't buy shit because I see through the noise, but this is the first time I'm excited for products from a creator and it's a great feeling to have the kind of relationship with someone online. 🤘

so did I!
This is BEYOND helpful. I've slowly been coming to a lot of these conclusions on my own (the early stage ones, because that's where I am), but having them articulated like this really hammers them home and helps me focus on what's next. Totally resonates with where I am right now and gives me a path for the future.

Just started my own journey as a one Person Business. Thank you so much for making in depth videos!

This is gold. Thank you so much! I will be rewatching this over and over.

Wow, you're one of the few people whose videos are worth watching many times over.
What you said about having a "Mental Monopoly" resonated with me big time. It's been literally happening to me every time I think of some things from your content that have impacted me the most. For instance:
- If you're lost, educate yourself.
(RIP JIMMY)
- "Crevices of reality" - I don't know, I just love those words together xD
Thanks for dropping those nuggets. They've been literally changing my life. Please, continue on your journey to bridge the gap between the physical, spiritual and digital worlds. You're killing it dude 💪
