Thick Vines doesn't count as an attack so Automation did not work with it last time I tested it. As such I use Auto-Repair shard on my trees. Did this change in a patch at some point? I'm also unsure how those mods work as well with the Anti-*. Don't know of a way to test it cause town dummies are not any type. As such I went for mods that increase Health which also increase damage since Thick Vines is based off your Health. However in the video you mention health pylon and boost blockade no longer effect Thick Vines. Back when I did my tested I could see the dps on training dummy go up after I put down the pylon and their HP increase. So I'm wondering what does effect the Thick Vines then as the description seems to indication anything that increase the health should increase it's damage like the Juggernaut Shard.
Automation does work with thick vines. Always has. Always test in maps, never in tavern. Everything posted on my channel is heavily tested and works or it would not be here. Generally speaking shards do not affect shards (Very Few exceptions), so Juggernaut does not affect Thick Vines but a health MOD would. The most damage increase will be gained from either anti mods or crit damage, but have to be careful not to sacrifice too much survivability.
@@MrJuicebags Yeah somethings you have to test on maps like healing cause your towers don't get damaged in town. I only ran a few test like 6+ months ago it's possible the healing was so low I didn't notice as the passive always auto-heal refilled the trees even when enemies weren't around. And I had much smaller range than you got so not as many enemies would close the distance. Well the Shards not effecting other shards I figured cause Thick Thorns is based off HP it wasn't effecting the shard but the Stat. Kinda like how stack all the abilities that increase Damage on tower.
@@MrJuicebags Some of the Math I don't get at times. Like the Vicious Strikes you are using when I put on my tree the range doesn't increase by 2K and my total range doesn't even top over 2K. However I noticed that it increase that Range stat but unsure how that translates in the final range distance of the tower. Also noticed that when I put Gilded Deadly Strikes shard in for 52% Range increase that it gives a larger range increase on my Trees than Vicious Strikes Shard. I suspect that is because you have range mod on your relic which I don't have on my tree as Range mod have been really hard to find. I have found tons of Rate mods but rarely see range ones. Just feels odd as see that 2K range increase mention and don't get tower distance of 2k+ but then putting a 50% increase on it actually gets you more. But only in some cases as my dragon nest get more range boost with the Vicious Strikes than Deadly Strikes, and in general get much further reach than the tree. Looking at the tree the range stat is higher than the nest but towers reach distance is a lot shorter.
It's not worth it if you aren't going to stick around and grind, especially after all the nerfs. After chaos 7 the game ramps up the difficulty to the point where you kind of need to grind shards and mods.
I used to play this game a bunch on my ps4 but I don’t have access to that anymore. Was thinking of getting back into it on pc, buying all the bags and vaults etc. is it still worth in 2024? Will there be a Dungeon Defenders 3? Enjoy your videos a bunch.
It's worth it, but they nerfed a lot of things, so it's gonna make everything a little more difficult to start. After chaos 7 things get really crazy and require a lot of work.

Still a fun game. Like Ash said, there were some major nerfs that came to a bunch of defenses when the Aquarium came out. But, you can still clear all content with what we're given.

Kinda crazy that you can do chaos 10 with just trees
Crazy how they nerf towers but allow stuff like this
