Naw. Johnny had and still has many many fans. Love makes the heart grow fonder. Johnny was just the best. You would skip work and be fired just to see him in concert. From the first song to the last he would rock. Fond memories.
What really impressed me was seeing Jon playing bass and harmonica at the same time. He had a plexiglass tube to mount the harmonica in (to enhance the tone), which he had connected to his harmonica brace. Nobody else did that like Jon did. I wish I could find the video clip of him playing bass & harmonica.
Johnny Winter, if you can't see he is the greatest of em all here watching this performance then you're not Conscious, lollll .... The Greatest of Em All, John Dawson Winter 111 Thank You Johnny for all the endless amounts of the best blues rock music ever made. God Bless You Tear Em Up on the other side Great One RIP, winterguitarking.
At 5:32 How would You like to play in front of that dead Brit crowd? haha Every-time Johnny Winter played Detroit, a fRicKiN fight would break out somewhere in the Hall! " I went to a hockey game and a Johnny Winter concert broke out"! hahaha Don't get me wrong either, Johnny's concert's were High Energy Packed, to say the least----ROCK N' ROLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
When they talk about speed they usually say Alvin Lee or Joe Bonamassa, but Johnny leaves them in the dust. And... While listening to this I forget he was also the greatest slide player of all time! Allman, Trucks, give me a break!
@@Isshingregg this is a 2 year old comment but the blasphemy just goes to show how strong preferences can be haha. I love mr winter, but to me, he was nothing compared to SRV. Strange how opposite opinions can be? cool I think.
Drummer is a good Rock Drummer, NOT a Blues Drummer. Could only imagine the look the late great Freddie King would have been giving to the Rhythm section!! It would not have been pretty.
Bobby T is a great Drummer check him out with his new band called The Name Droppers also in the band is one of if not Johnny's best bassist Scott Spray
This was Johnny's best lineup. Torello and Paris were BEASTS, a killer rhythm section.
it warms my heart all these comments, I thought I was the only fan of Johnny Winter.
Well being good FRIEND'S with Scott Spray n Bobby the Hitman T. TORELLO..Fills my Heart with joy

When you love something like Johnny did the blues this is what you get!
I sure do miss Johnny..was blessed to see him so many times..he gave his life to the blues and was muddys son..
Ditto. Well said.
Jon Paris...... right in the pocket with steel slamming accuracy......geeze what a combo!!

No you all are not alone, Johnny and all that ever played next to him will always be remembered as masters with a king of blues
Most under rated guitar player of all time
I saw him so many times since the 60's
7:10 what a beautiful melody, he brought everything together here. Its similar to when a movie has its climax

Johnny was really something special.
This quality musicianship is not available today.
Killer staff...
The split second timing is amazing.
"Somebody call security on that crowd @ 5:35. They are out of control LOL" crowds were like that back then. either respectful, mezmeizes or both.
Oh hell yeah
yeahhhhhh o, johnny
It find it pretty damn cool that Tommy Shannon played with both of them.
Scott Spray is in that same paragraph..How cool is it that Bobby n Scott formed a band called The Name Droppers..
The Winter of our discontent.
Bluesnisimo. Happy day Happy life.
Clean and Crisp
Nice ..long jam
40 year heroin addiction but the finest guitar player ever
+SUPERGEARSAMN Even with all that junk in his system, he outplayed numerous hacks.
Actually, in later years it was the shit they give you to keep you off heroin he had problems with.
@@davidteller7681 read his autobiography tells his entire life great read. Raisin Cain
He was clean for the last 20 years ..Even got off the methadone .. Now that's a man with determination
Bobby Torello on skins y'all!

Chris, if You want sophistication and culture, attend the opera--This is Texan Rock N' Roll! ^(*_*)^
The Drum kit is nice too

I love this song, but don't forget how fucking awesome Stevie's is.
Yes but Stevie wasn't even in the same league as Johnny, there's different levels to guitar playing and Johnny was on a level far above Stevie.

Yep, 3 piece machine, led by JDW.
I have been a JDWIII fan for years. Please tell me the drummer is not wearing spandex!
Far out.
YeeHaw
Did he turn on a univibe?
+Jimmy Clapton That was an MXR Phase 90 he turned on during the song. Johnny used the MXR Phase 90 from 1974 to 1984.
Why have i never heard johnny winter play this song?
Really? It was the opening number in his CD "Live In NYC'97".
Cant say anything! Johnny did.
