This is not a recent video, but the information in it is timeless. I am a rookie and am thankful for postings like this that may help me to acquire more and better tools in the future. I love the ideas! BTW, I like the square ones best #2
Loved your live edge coasters, perfect for our National Heritage Nature Park lodges in the Drakensberg Mountains of South Africa, less loved but still pretty jolly fine, your squares. I would join those up onto another flat surface to make large-scale playing boards, serving trays, lap trays, and such. Great work.. and once again, thank you.
I love the wavy maple bark!
I liked the squares they felt more complete. The live edged ones that were nearly square looked good as well. I would think you could do some interesting resin projects with the remnant live edge pieces that might yield a higher profit.
Perfect!
Having only met you once, it’s funny how different you sound in person! I prefer the live edge ones but they’re all nice.
I thought they had their own character to them and all looked great. That said, the coasters with the live edge are my favorite as they are more unusual than most. Great job!
#1 all the way. #2 if I had to settle. These all look AMAZING. The spalting looks INCREDIBLE. The last few look super professional
First off, I love Maple burl! It's awesome! Second, there isn't anyplace around where I live where I could sell a coaster for $10. More power to ya if you can. I like the square ones best, but on the live edge coasters, I think it would be cool to make up the rest of the square with clear (or tinted) epoxy resin. Just a thought. The coasters look good!
The heavily spalted pieces are my favorite. They're all beautiful, thanks for the video and great idea.
Just saw your video on these coasters. They are all beautiful, but really like the ones with cracks and uneven edges. Gives a more natural look, which I love when working with wood. Your art is amazing.
Thx, great idea! When I started this hobby some 18 years ago, friends told me, eventually you’ll burn your scrap pieces in the winter. Now I know what every friend will get this coming Xmas. Love the channel, and can not wait for your collaboration, making the walnut table. Have a great weekend from the tip of Africa 👍
2,4 then 3 are my favourites in that order. Excellent use of scrap wood.
they're all beautiful i think number 1 is my favourite, really love that deep live edge
I like them both, the spalted maple is beautiful!
Agreed!
#1 is my most favorite. I like the combination of refined and natural edges.
but they are all beautiful because of your craftsmanship. lovely work
Thanks Mei!
Hi I’ve just this week subscribed to your channel and I am really enjoying everything about it.
My favorite is 3,1,2 then 4. Do not burn any because taste vary.
Your voice is pleasant and calming and the furniture you produce is gorgeous. I’m loving your videos. Great job!
Cam, I'm just now seeing this vid pop up in my feed. I love these coasters!!!
I'm about to embark on my very own business and will most likely start up a RUclips channel with it. I don't subscribe to many channels but for those that I do I want to be able to support with a subscription/likes/comments and at some point, a purchase. After all, that's why we do our work. I look to purchase some coasters soon. And if all goes well...my wife and I may need a new table in the future. Thanks for your awesome videos!
the wood looks so beautiful in every stage of your work. I love that natural edge when they are slabs 👍
I like that too 👌
Those are beautiful!! I love them all!! Amazing!!
The colors and figure in 2 are amazing. Thanks for the how-to and pricing suggestions. This seems like a no-brainier for scraps. Time to get a bandsaw!
Bandsaws are one of my favorites. Enjoy!
I really love all of them and you’ve really inspired me to do the same! I just made some spalted silver maple ones after you. Thank you for the video! And keep up the amazing work! 🤙🏻🔥
Just saw those Josh! They are freaking awesome!
2 & 4 my fave. Thx for making this video!
I love them all. Been a problem for over thirty years and hate burning scraps. Thanks for a great video and an inspiring idea.
Awesome!
Love the square ones.
I like them all. I would keep doing the variety. Thank you for all your inspiration.
I thought that all of them had character. Sold in set 2 squares 2 live edge. Very nice
I liked the live edge ones the best. Gonna try making some!
Like them all!- This is great and love seeing the wood being put to good use
Hi Cam, in liked all of them as they were cool in there own way but number1 was my favourite. Andy
I really enjoy this video cause it´s so easy (looks like) to start getting use out of the scrap, thanks a lot
Definitely a great way to stretch an expensive piece of wood or even just to clean shop without being wasteful. Also a pretty big fan of the crack, would also be nice to perhaps engrave on these.
I like #2. It has a lot of character.
Absolutely amazing I am getting more and more tools all the te but am still in college. I can't wait till I have a shop to expand a bit. Thanks for the inspiration
Yeah man!
I liked 2 & 3. Thank you for sharing!
I like #2 best. Please continue to do this with scraps and show us the results. I can’t imagine how beautiful walnut would be!
Love the live edge, great work
No.2 for me and thanks for sharing.
I love the ones with a naturally live edge. They are all beautiful.
The irregular edge ones were spectacular. But all were amazing.
Lovely! I like the square ones rather than the live edge - number 2 especially 👍
Thanks for sharing. I’m enjoying your videos.
Beautiful! I myself like to make roundish coasters from slices of branches that have interesting crosscuts (Pecan, Acacia, Olive, Eucalyptus).
two and four were my favorite. Thanks for the Video, inspired to try this.
Excellent! Hope it works out for ya
Honestly loved them all
I prefer the square ones, but they are all beautiful - epoxy on them would be amazing I think!
Very nice! Thanks for the inspiration.
I like 2 and 3. Beautiful!
Kinda had to laugh when you mentioned crack but I like the live edged ones. Awesome work as always.
I really liked the book matched ones. I’m currently obsessed with book matching cutting boards and projects.
2 followed by 4 for me....so interesting. They are all good in their own way. Thanks for sharing.
Ya man. Thanks Stuart!
Love them all, but the live edge probably my favorite!
I like those too 👌
I loved every one. The "rustic" look really appeals to me and that's the way most of my turnings look.
Thanks!
Gorgeous 👌 I really liked the live-edge looking ones with the cracks and imperfections 💯
Thanks Marco! Always appreciate your feedback.
2:22 an amazing skill.
I like all of them!
I actually like them all, the more interesting the better. The only reason I'd pick over the other is what kind of decorating I've got in my home.
3. I'm surprised you didn't make a tiny bow-tie...lol BEAUTIFUL!
Those are awesome! Love that live edge!
Thanks. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Loved the live edge no 1
Love them all! Great work. Thanks for the inspiration and idea. Cheers! :)
Cheers! And thanks!
I honestly liked all of them
Looks beautiful 😊
That's a tough question because they all look good!👍
I was shopping for the first "all" comment to join.
Simple, but beautiful....I now have Xmas gifts for next year!!! Thanks!!!
I absolutely love the perfectly square ones of the spalted wood.
Love them all... but the live edge and cracked ones are top of the pile!!
I love number 2. Excellent video
I love all of them! Great work!
Well thanks!
2. I have been using a bunch of spalted maple and am in love with it.
I like them all. Great idea.
Thanks Tim!
Thanks. I enjoy your video. Also thanks for the pricing guidance.
I love em all. They are all amazing.
Oh thanks!
I love them all!❤️
Thanks Chrystal!
Amazing!
Beautiful work 👍😎👍
2 and 4 were my favorite ones.
Excellent use of scrap.
WOW! I can see how you can charge so much for them! Dang!
Thanks for sharing. Maybe someday I too will be lucky enough to have a workshop.
Thanks man! And I’m pulling for you
Well....not fussy...I like them all. Great work
Awesome onfo! The irregular live edge were my faves!
Thanks!
Love the spalted and live edge ones
Thanks!
nice, like them all
All gorgeous
You should get your logo and stamp it on there before finishing. You could hand them out at your workshops! Love your videos!
Like the coasters -- #3 the most, #2 next -- but thought it was a great idea and I love the idea of upcycling / recyling / not wasting.
I think I like #2 the best. I like the live edge ones as well, but for some reason I can see a glass tipping of the coaster because they're not uniform in size. I could be wrong though.
I like 2, I made a couple a few years ago with scraps. But I plan on making some like 1 & 3 as well as some with epoxy. Really dig your work, dude.
The uniqueness is GR8 as there is something 4 everyone, but I’d say the middle of the batch is the sweet spot. The totally regular and most irregular are probably not as desirable by the masses, but there’s always a customer.
For sure Murray
I like 1 & 2. Nicely done
Thanks!
No. 2 looks the best to me.
They are all beautiful. I like 1 the best then 2. Thanks
Love them all.
Oh thanks ☺️
I vote #2. I love spalted I use it on most of my mandolin rosettes!
Great idea - I like the ones with a little of the live edge. I have a burl that I might do the same thing with, but I may make them 3" x 4" and then build a 4" x 4" mold and pour colored resin in and then you can make them square but still seeing the live edge.
Spalted mapel is one of my favorite woods i just did a whole set of pens for someone. But for the coasters I like the one with the crack in it. And with the dead fungus lines those are my fav to see the disgin it made.
I'm a professional artist and I can visualize every type in different decor. Nicely done!
That means a lot from a real artist!
2 and 4 were really cool
I prefer the square ones with some character, the one that you showed with the crack was my favorite
Beautiful, live edge best but both are beautiful!!!
I’m a live edge guy too
I like them all
