I'm getting the sense that this animation could be taken in the wrong way . . . . . this is NOT a REAL trailer. There is NO Akira film, at least not being made by me. I just made a 3D model of Kaneda's bike because, like lots of other people, I think it's really cool. I made this "trailer" simply as a showcase for that modelled bike. Whereas some people put their fan-art on Instagram or DeviantArt, my fan-art is animated so I put it here on RUclips. This animation is not meant as a comment on the 1988 Akira film, or a vision of how I think an Akira remake should look; I was just using the opportunity to experiment with animation and production techniques I haven't used before. Feel free to still critique or comment on this animation. Positive, negative, whatever you want. I just ask you to bear in mind that this is nothing more than fan-art. Thank you for watching.

Yeah, these animations can be quite laborious and they do test your patience, but it's worth it for the sense of achievement alone . . . like running a marathon: it doesn't matter how well/fast you ran, just crossing that finish line is worth the pain and doubt you went through to get there. As for the idea you have? Sure, if there's something I can help you with I'd be glad to see if I can help.

If you're on Instagram then feel free to follow me so I'll be able to easily contact you for a future project. As for getting better at animating? There's no easy way, or short cut; you just have to keep trying. Motion capture from sites like Mixamo are great for human movement - there are plenty of RUclips tutorials to show you how to use that site. For being an animator, persistence is the key.
Nice display of 2010+ CGI/UNREAL engine animation, but please... to any and all, don't ever remake or otherwise fuckwith or "update" Akira... it's amazing as fuck in English, I can only imagine how much better it would be if I spoke Japanese... It's one of those movies that needs to go in the preservation vault, if it's not already there.

Groundbreaking anime my ass. Remember owning a VH copy of the anime. It's about his friend turn into a psychic blob monster. You don't even see the motorcycles again after the beginning. The girl gets raped and killed. And this looks ridiculously bad. I'm just as impressed as the attack on Titan live action movie. And that didn't do any good. Or the Death Note movie which also suck balls.
