    Good morning Mr rice this is the old man from Chicago again that turnbuckle idea is really good I use that many years ago one thing you should do is take a piece of pipe to fit the inner circumference of the turnbuckle and well the ends of the turnbuckle together where the loop is but it together and then that inner piece of pipe will make the boat fit tighter between the turnbuckle and use washers and so on will make it work much better old man from Chicago talk with you later

    Man, I hate to be the guy pointing out what could possibly cause more issues than it helps, BUT….I’m not sure if you realize it yet but the D06 is the standard/very soft sidewall slick as well as an even softer compound and the C07s were stiff sidewall slicks. So, while they should actually hook better on a sketchy surface there’s gonna be even more deflection at a given psi AND they’re gonna wear really fast! Most people report about 1/2 the life of a C07 😬 Now, the fact that it IS a 10” tire instead of a true 10.5” on that obvious 15X8” rim ‘may’ compensate a slight amount of that🤞🏼Best guess is that it’ll ‘feel’ the same side to side (in the rear at least) but hopefully they’ll help you 60’ that much harder👌🏼 Good luck Matt!

    Every body throws off on a 8.5 10 bolt but from my research the only diffrence between a 8.5 and 12 bolt that alot of people use is the actual size of the ring and pinion gear and axel spine all which can be fixed in a 8.5 with a spool c clip eliminators the pinion shaft and carrier bearing thing you would expect to be bigger and stronger in a 12bolt are the same size I run a 8.5 with a spool and clip eliminators and have put as much as 650whp on 28 spline axels and have only broken 1 since 2000 I would like to change my spool to 32 or 35 spline and put better axels in incase I decide to do a power adder and add more power

    Cars looking good ! Looks like you have radial skinnies up front. Could having a bias ply back tire and a radial front tire cause it to walk around ?

    • @philipmazzuca2269
      @philipmazzuca2269 Год назад

      Chris- definitely……… good job picking up on thT

    • @RealSteelStreet
      @RealSteelStreet Год назад

      That’s really a non issue, more of an “old racer’s tale” if you will 🤷🏻‍♂️ Bias fronts with radial rears is what will really get you in trouble! It’s more of a tracking thing, as in oversteer/understeer. As long as the fronts have stable tracking (radial) it doesn’t matter if you run radial OR bias rears, they’ll still follow the fronts just fine. Bias front/rear works good because they balance each other out, any push movement up front is matched by the rear. BUT, when you have a softer/more pliable front tire and stiffer radial rear when/if the front pushes side to side the rear is tracking more truly and forces you to “chase” the front with the steering…leading to quick issues 😬
      It kinda falls in line with the same concept of it always being safer to keep the better 2 tires on the front (steering/tracking) of your daily driver👌🏼 In drag racing, the rear is simply propelling the car forward as the front is guiding the direction…until you get into high hp stuff strongly influenced and adjusted by ‘rear steer’ which is a whole nother problem 😳
      Sorry for the ‘book’!! Lol But this is a really simple issue with yet a semi-complicated explanation that’s been debated on and disproven 1000s of times over 🤣 Moral of my long ass story front to back:
      Radial/radial = good
      Radial/bias = fine
      Bias/bias = good
      Radial/bias = BAD

    Check out the joint size to the yoke. I've seen some 1310's on 1350 yokes that are close but make a lot of noise and the owner had no clue. And a driveshaft place did it.

      Just curious. Cus the one I did had 1310's and it fit but it had play and couldn't tell until it went into gear. I measured the caps and sure enough they where 10's not 50's. They are so close it's hard to see. But I could see the mark on the drive side that it was hitting a little harder on one side. The 1350 was way tighter.

      Yeah, but imagine that BBC on the same amount of boost 😳 Be retarted while it lasted🤘🏼Conventional BBCs just won’t hold up over that 1000hp threshold like the factory LS’s 6-bolt main block/crank will…especially Gen IV stuff! Gotta go aftermarket BBC block for those numbers and that’s $$$!! However, that 496ci would very easily make 1000hp at only 10psi where you’ll have to hit that LS with 25-30psi +👌🏼 Aftermarket BBC at those boost levels though, you’re talking 2500hp and UP 🇺🇸
