    If you've ever had rain wash out all your camping neighbors, you'd understand why being off the ground is so valuable. There are plenty of portable gadgets available, choose from what you want and get out there. Great fun, Grand Pa.

    10/10 innovation. It rains half of the time I'm making camp here so it's a bit slow of a make up for Éire but serious applause for the 1000's of hours of thought and sweat gone into it.

    Not just a tent trailer, utility trailer as well. Hauls up to 1800 pounds. Put my ATV in there with some kayaks on top roof rack, then go camp and have all that with me and that’s a lot of space saving. Even lifts up to stand straight in the garage.

    I read people saying it looks complicated or Kia 3.1.2.2 or something. It sounds like you’ve never tried to set a tent up before, especially at night? If you’re a person that looks for the best place on the river or on a lake, this is it. To me it looks fairly simple to setup but what I want to see is you putting it all back together? Not that a tent’s easy to stuff back into that little bag.

    You can buy a small travel trailer for the same cost as this and have a full blown camper with heat, A/C, hot and cold water, bath, shower and cooking facilities. Cool for use with a motorcycle or dragging back into the woods with an ATV...but fails as an option for camping. Falls below the comfort zone in the price matrix.

    • @kitcarr4668
      @kitcarr4668 5 лет назад +1

      @ Don ... well, like everything it would get cheaper when produced in bulk ... and probably that would mean going to China ?
      @ Num Ya ... perhaps ideal fro Subaru owners ... mountain bikers for example, but it would need some small mods to carry their bikes ... but it has the makings of a good idea if (say) it's an alloy lightweight corrosion proof frame ?

    • @kitcarr4668
      @kitcarr4668 5 лет назад +3

      @ Nun Ya ... Plainly I did NOT say any such thing (good idea at that price) Quite the opposite in fact, because as you can very easily see from my immediately preceding comment regarding mass production and China (should you care to open your eyes fully and read it again).
      News Flash - Not everyone on the planet shops at Walmart and buys 'cheap shit' ... Subaru Owners (that YOU mentioned) are a good example ... they pay more for quality and innovation and a degree of extra functionality.
      There are also many people who will pay more simply because a thing has a degree of exclusivity ... and a 10K price tag certainly 'excludes' all of the broke arse individuals who've previously commented comparing it with a $50 disposable WalMart product!
      IF you (and they) were to THINK there's may people who buy unusual, lightweight products ... look at the 'teardrop camper market' ? Consider people such as small sports car owners who enjoy camping but lack boot space ... It MIGHT be ideal for those people, it might also suit small electric car owners, it certainly might work well for folks who make camp for longer periods in one spot !
      It's NEVER a scam if a willing and informed purchaser considers the product to be good value.
      Generally a 'scam' involves fraudulently taking money and NOT DELIVERING, dishonestly gaining a pecuniary advantage , or delivering a product that's not 'fit for purpose' ( which probably covers most US motor vehicles with the exception of Japanese marques )

    It's just a tent on wheels. If I tow anything it would be either a utility trailer or a cargo trailer to haul my tent and everything else in. In the case of the cargo trailer, you can sleep in that. A 5 x 8 will approximate a teardrop trailer for 2k or 3 k, or something bigger for a little more $. You say "I should get a full camp trailer then". No, because cargo trailers are built stronger than camp trailers, and supplied empty you can finish and equip it exactly how you want to from fancy to frugal. Plastic shelves are inexpensive for example.

      It's for people who want the challenge and effort of setting up a tent and the advantages of tent life, while still having many of the comforts that a trailer would provide you. Plus it also acts as a gear hauler, you can put bikes, kayaks, etc on it as you tow it around. I agree that it is a niche market, but for people like my wife and I, there really is nothing else like it on the market. We want to sleep in a tent, but not be on the ground. We want to carry a lot of gear with us when we camp, and we want to be able to do all of this while driving a vehicle that can only tow 1500 pounds. There must be enough people like my wife and I that want them though, because we're on a six week waiting list to get ours.

    • @NicolaMonk
      @NicolaMonk 3 года назад

      Oh certainly I am sure! I just think when compared with other pop up trailers and toy haulers (I am thinking of something like the intech trailers) this one requires quite a bit more effort. Like I would personally probably get a rooftop tent and just a cargo trailer first. Certainly, though, if it fits your needs go for it!

    Im willing to bet that you could save a few grand by purchasing a cabelas bighorn tent and adding a few good camp cots. Stuff them into a micro pup trailer along with whatever other gear you want. You'll get more square footage more comfortable accommodations and if the tent breaks you can replace it for cheaper than you can replace the RV trailer.

    I enjoy the idea! But, for 10 thousand dollars, I'll just buy a real camper.

      No kitchen, no bathroom, just a shell with a tent. Way over priced.

      @@Duurti Even just a sink with a shower would have been better.

    I bought a 20×10 3rm tent. That has a/c tv and and sets up in 2mins all for $500

    Pretty cool ideas,, however trying to stuff the tent back up would probably be a pain in the ass.

    I'm not easily impressed but that thing is pretty cool. Looks to be great engineering. Probably very pricey for the size.

    I would be so embarrassed pulling that thing down the road The time It’s takes to set it up it’s time to go home😂

      I set it up in like 5 minutes with no help. It's not as complicated as it seems.
