I was fortunate enough to see Wet Willie live a few times while at UGA in the mid to late 70s playing at the then student union, Memorial Hall. Never seen a harder working or more energetic band in concert. Been a fan since Wet Willie II came out.

WOW!!! where have these legends been hiding?
At least once a year I go on a Wet Willie kick, and play it for a week or more and wonder why out of all the bands that are kicking around these days are these guys not out there.
Fellas if you're up to it, I hope you find somebody that would be willing to help you promote a tour it's time to hear this kind of real music again.
Rock and roll, soul and a little bit of Southern boogie - bring it on!!!

Wonderful finding this today! I used to go see Wet Willie open for other bands then half the time I'd leave before the main band came out. I saw them up close and personal in Indiana in the 1990s and again in the 00s. Jimmy never stops!

Jimmy Hall and The Wet Willie Band are still killing it in 2024. First time I photographed the band was in 1973 when they opened at Madison Square Garden for my favorite Jam Band The Allman Brothers. It was a very special night and the first time The Brothers played and SOLD OUT MSG. Jimmy and the Band were welcomed
and everyone enjoyed their set. I have also photographed Jimmy lending his talents to the annual Allman-Betts
Revival 3 times since It began. One of Wet Willies best surprises was their afternoon show at the 50th Anniversary of Capricorn Studios a few years in Macon. The Allstar Band that night had many legends who
were in concert at The Macon Auditorium with over 20 artists on stage. Wish Wet Willie would would do another tour, maybe with The Allman Betts Band to keep it in the family😀. Everybody KEEP ON SMILING🤗

OHY! The Halls w/ Ricky Hirsch. Now that's Wet Willie proper not that I don't miss John Anthony's classic electric piano just a little bit. Not too much cause this is spot-on great! I might be your biggest standing fan in Cullman, AL. I went to a Key Club convention in Mobile in '72 and on a off day trolled downtown and found a record store where I bought Wet Willie II because I read a favorable review in Stereo Review magazine. I was sold and shortly thereafter B'ham's progressive FM station started playing various WW songs on the radio which started a gradual climb for the band. I saw them in '73 in B'ham''s Boutwell Hall (still Municipal Coliseum then) . A unknown band called Lynyrd Skynyrd opened for them. The best of times for rock music lovers no doubt.
