This show was very hyped but I don´t really see why yet.
I see potential to be a not too serious standart shounen but the build up is quite slow so far.

In alot animes build up takes time such as Naruto, black clover, mashle.
But by your comment it shows that you have loved solo leveling because it has nothing but build up (leveling up) that makes solo leveling trash but I think build up matters more for you instead of great storyline 😂
Kaiju no 8 have great storyline and it deserves more popularity than solo leveling but solo leveling is popular and idk why and solo leveling is overrated too
