I remember seeing the thumbnail for Thrill on youtube. I thought it would be a J-Pop idol sound. Then I was immediately blown away with the first few notes. When Kanami shredded that first solo,I immediately knew this band was the Japanese Van Halen. That is how talented they are.
This is one of my favorite Band-Maid songs along with this video being visually stunning. The cinematography and production of the music video is amazing.
The moment when Kanami drops her pick and how she looks after it and can't pick it up is just too good. 😆 (Sorry Kanami!) A really nice behind the scenes look. The shoot seems to have had a very nostalgic feel to it due to the location and the outfits in general. At least that's how the ladies seem to me, and without understanding all the words. That part was really funny. I like the part at 5:20, where they're struggling to walk up the steps while barely being able to move their legs, and wearing those huge shoes, and Miku's like, "Naka naka kowai (It's a little scary). Maiko-san sugoi po (Maiko are amazing po)."
If authentic Maiko kimonos they would each weigh around 20 kilos and be worth some $20 - 30,000. Interesting to hear Miku speaking normally. Kanami seemed less at ease than the others and didn't 'work' the camera like the others. She was probably composing as the shoot was extremely long.

My band has establlished since 2007 until now. We play hard rock songs & sometimes more metal influenced. When I watch this band in youtube last year, I start to think like "maybe we just quit". Holy sh*t this ladies can play better than any male rock band in the world. In my country there's a couple of female band too that play the same genre but they play just like a kid first learn of instruments. But this Japanese band not even in Japan but they make male band in the world looks cute.

With age comes wisdom (or it should be) us older fans appreciate just how rare this moment is and how lucky we are to be here to see Band-maid...No band on this planet can compare po. On stage and off they are a treasure.

Yes, Miku’s voice sound much more grounded. I suspect Kanami might have felt trapped in the costume, not allowing her to move as much as usual.
