You guys are gonna be sad when F59PHI 3001 will retire. And so will I. I don’t live in America but I wanna at least go there and see it before it retires.
Nice catches Spence! great to see 3001 back in service! i wish NCTD would wrap it in the new livery but i guess sticking with the old scheme would be even better to see!
What they did with the cascade f59s is they put them in the meter shop (If I am correct.) and repainted them to look like the amtrak surfliner but in metra.
@@coolleo149 3001 and 3002 were built in 2001 making them 20 years old. The two were part of the same order and they were among the last F59PHI’s to be built.
The F40s will be donated to the Pacific Southwest Railway Museum. The F59's fate is currently unknown; the two were semi-retired on February 8, 2021 and are currently on standby duty until all Chargers have arrived.
A high speed rail line would cost way too much money and almost nobody would use it. The US has cheap enough airfare with flying being much more convenient if you want to get somewhere faster and cheaper. This is a commuter rail line that only serves about 40 miles and 10 stops. The purpose of this line is to not sit in the miserable traffic on the 5.
The coaster charger and the coaster f59
Just became best friends
Dang, i keep wanting to call the f59 phi the mp36 because they look so similar
The mp-36 is longer and more streamlined and the PHI well it’s the same thing but shorter and less streamed lined
It’s nice to see the F59s still in service. I wish Coaster would overhaul the two in their fleet to extend their service lives.
Oh man. I probably won't have a chance to catch it.

Awesome train footage! Great scenery and views too!
I love 💕 Coaster trains!
me too
Raised letter K5LAs everywhere. I didnt know they replaced 2305s horn. So that leaves 3001/2301/2302 as the last 3 good horns on NCTD.
The raised letters are much louder. I personally like em.
Nice to see that the F59s are still in service (for now). Great footage as always.
Even though only one of them is in service because 3002 is retired, it's nice to see them every now and then for the time being.
great video...great work on filming ...thank you
seeing the new Coaster liveries feels like it had a Gatorade touch
great catches and video of these coasters
Awesome raised k5las.👍

I timed 3.14 secs for the 5 cars to pass, which means it's ROLLIN' at 92.3 mph!! O__O
Nice Video. Subscribed to your channel and appreciated it
Super film!
Really nice!!
Your videos keep getting better! 🆒

I love the F59s, To bad the cascade ones are gone
But there still on metra

I wonder if they will get tier 4 engines like what Amtrak California will do to their F59PHI’s
Cc. ‘Nd
@@railtechadventurer yea ik but I was thinking that Amtrak would make their Remaning F59’s Tier 4 as well
At least the F59 locomotives are still in service for Coaster. Hopefully they continue working for a while.
Once the next two Chargers arrive the F59s will retire.
Oh man
Great video spencer
With all the Coaster F40PH pulled from service, F59PHI will continue service throughout 2021?
I doubt it but maybe
I’ve heard rumors it’ll be in service till 2023. I’m convinced they’ll use it until it breaks down.
it’s great to see the F59PHs still in service, however I don’t like them in the coaster livery that much.
*F59PHI
How on flipping earth is the f59phi’s still on coaster 😲😲😲
nice!
If any of you have Train simulator or minecraft make Coaster F40s and F59PHIs in the new paint scheme same as the SC44s
Nice content! :)

Is The San Diego Coaster F59PHI Locomotives Going To Be Retired?
Doesn’t seem like they are, but that is the NCTD Coaster’s decision maybe.
I’ve heard rumors that 3001 should be in service until 2023. I’m convinced they will use the engine until it breaks down.
Yeah I kinda don’t know how old the engine is, but yeah I’m guessing it will be retired in 2023 sadly.
