Just found these videos last year. I used to watch tv and just trudge away on my old wind trainer usually averaging around 16mph. Now I average over 20 mph and my heart rate is always similar to real road riding conditions. For those wondering how to gauge how hard you are working I prefer to keep it simple. I set my trainer's wheel contact and tire inflation up to feel similar to what it's like to ride on the flat ground. Hills are a sort of reverse of real world conditions whereas you use a high gear and spin slower. It's more of a strength type of workout. The flats are all about speed and cadence. Try to set up your trainer so that it feels natural. This makes it much easier when you ride for real. You should be using the same gears to achieve the same speeds with the same effort as on the road, except hills are opposite of real conditions as with a basic trainer you can't up the resistance. My previous winter indoor riding always worked pretty well for me, but I'm excited about this next season of centuries since I know I will be much more ready this year when the weather breaks.
Hi, guys Maybe it's a little bit late but I just found about you a couple of days ago and I can't be more grateful. I have been riding my bike for about four years now taking nice and long trips around town and close to the beach, so everytime I went out I had not only a nice workout but also and enjoyable ride. About I year ago I had a surgery on my right shoulder so I was recommended not to go out with the bike but instead continue riding indoors. The first few months were nice but after a while it can get very boring so I found myself stroggling to keep my motivation up and continue with my biking. I tried with music, combining with other exercises but couldn't help much until I found you. Amazing workout. I had so much fun feeling part of the "crew" and riding along with all of these guys. Simply amazing. Thanks a lot :-D Truly appreciated.
-26 C here in Canada today. Stuck on a trainer for now. Thanks for the 45 minute version. Will try the 90 minute version soon. Made a donation for your hydration needs.
Thanks from Utah! This morning when I got up to ride it was 27 degrees below freezing, Or 5 degrees Fahrenheit. . Thanks to CTX I had a fantastic ride Down Under, where it appeared the weather was nice and the temps in the mid 70's. JJ
Everytime I do this ride I feel like I'm part of the CTX team!! love it! And I love the well placed..you can do it words of encouragement!! Great ride! You guy's need to make more!!! Im sweating...
If you like their videos you should also look at the guys at Turbotripping they have a lot of rides through the French Alps including a full ride up the Col de Pennes if you follow the ride key you'll think that you have actually done it with them. Another great page is the Global Cycling Network GCN on Facebook and RUclips, great riding tips and training videos too.
at one point it said "grab dat ass"... no wait. it said "kom up for grabs".. and i was like...how did you know i'd like that? ok, totally coming up for grabs, brace yourself, dude in front of the dude with the camera on the bike :P
Great stuff for suffering on the turbo on these wet and cold British winters. These vids are superb! I have bought professional trainer workouts and these are far suerior so a big thank you to all the guys that put this together. Yogi cycling club Plymouth UK.
Please give us more!!! We crave pain!!! in all seriousness, these are by far the best training videos I've encountered. I realize these videos must be very difficult to make but I cannot tell you how beneficial they are to average cyclist who wants to be great.
Just donated 15$!! I've done your videos a few times now and I have to say they're definitely the best way to beat the winter blues in Canada, Wish I could be there in Australia riding with you guys..Sigh only 2 more months till I can ride outside again. I'll keep the donations coming your way if you keep the videos coming mine! Cheers!
Great run out though a bit congested with two wheelers everywhere, I admit the big truck in blue shorts 15 mins in got in my way, found myself shouting ‘move over wide load, buts that’s nasty so don’t tell anyone. Cheers another great video.
I love these videos! It has made my knee rehab sooo much easier and I feel like I get a little lockdown holiday cycling along the beach road. Have donated!!
Just finished the video my wife and I...loved it!!!!! Great job!!! We are training for our first full Ironman, will be doing this one again for sure!!! Outside it's -26C this moorning, but indoors we sweated like it was +26C!!!!
Thanks. A lot for this. I miss going riding in the road. I don’t even own a bike now. But you made me push through at the gym! Greetings from Barcelona!
These training videos are phenomenal! I'm fortunate enough to not have to spend too much time indoors on the trainer (California winters are anything but) but when I do your videos are my default training tool. Thanks for the effort and for making me a stronger cyclist!
I love these training videos and I am from Trinidad where we have weather for riding almost year round ... but the concept of "Sharing The Road" is a challenge ... so CTxC to the rescue!! Great job guys!! Bravo Zulu!!
I know these videos are old, but I wanted to say thank you anyways. They've been a big help to me and are a huge reason why I've stuck with cycling (and enjoy it!).
That time of the year in Texas, transitioning over to the trainer and the videos are a great help. Hope to see more of the these, really great work. Thanks for your time and effort.
I do these at least once a week in the winter (because British weather can be unpredictable ;) and i have to say my fitness level has gone up significantly thanks to these videos. Wish there were more to choose from, but these workouts are fantastic!
absolutely brilliant workout, great scenery, I love the music it keeps me going. My clothes were drenched but I managed to get to 38 miles in 90 minutes which is pretty good for me. Fabulous. Thanks guys
I have a Spartan Ultra (30+ miles on foot) obstacle course race this coming April and I‘M FULL CONFIDENT that these training sessions will help me conquer the ski slope terrain! No joke!! 😈😈😈👍🏻
This is a killer one, really! :-) This type of training is usefeul mainly at race season. This will prepare you for following the "race winning moves" especialy the last few max efforts with low recovery times. In base season - like january in Europe - this is just a pure fun and a menthal challange not to let the guys go on the screen... Thaks for this!
Love this and the other vids 20 dollars donated. Just like being part of a peloton of non professional racers for a change. Sufferfests make me feel inferior! Thanks guys Neil from Glasgow
just did this work out a few mins ago and now my floor is a puddle of sweat. Didnt bother with the heart rate monitor, this work out is perfect for Threshold stuff or race pace intensity depending on your perceived effort. either way 1.5 hours of pure bliss or cramping pain .. its a win win, brilliant work and well done mates!
Thank you so much for another great video! Have been commuting to work through February but gave up this morning when the thermometer dipped down to -19. This was just what I needed.....Might as well ...JUMP!.....
I believe these are the best indoor trainer videos available (at least available over RUclips). I'm sure they are better than most professionally produced videos. l've used the 90 min. for years and wished there was a 120 minute. Now I see there is! I'll have to try it out as soon as I get back into condition. Had a lapse in riding due to rib fracture and more.
Just donated! I love your videos and have been using them a lot this past year! I definitely have seen some increase in speed! I'm using a kurt kinetic fluid trainer and I get a hell of a work out!!
I really like your videos! I've probably cycled with your other 45-minute video more than 50 times. I will certainly make a donation especially if it keeps them coming!
These videos are awesome! You must make more guys as they are the best :-) I have made a donation and hope that lots more people do too. They are tough but keep you motivated and you get a great cycle. A 60 min one would be a great addition please.
Brill, love everything about this. Had fun chasing the man in the green n yellow. Did half of it - not ready to do a full session as its my first time.
You guys are killing me! Awesome workout again. Blows all other youtube training video away! Finally I can spin with real roadies!! No more watching glazed eyed spinning classes!! YUCK! Make ore make more please!!
Thank you for making the long boring indoor training sessions into something I actually look forward to!

I am doing my recovery and physiotherapy after an accident here in Medellín Colombia, thanks for the videos have been of great help and entertainment
Thanks to the CTX Team. I've been stuck in a boot for six months and it's hard getting back into a routine....TIRED... in Kentucky
Thank you for doing thee vids guys. Have really appreciated them during lockdown and will be continuing to use them. Much respect!!

Truly appreciated.
I just donated to your cause. I really enjoy your training vids. Makes the brutal winter training in the Midwest U.S. pass more enjoyably.

+Starry Hilder , I agree. At one point, my cadence began to slow, and the words "close that gap" appeared on the screen. So, I did!
at one point it said "grab dat ass"... no wait. it said "kom up for grabs".. and i was like...how did you know i'd like that? ok, totally coming up for grabs, brace yourself, dude in front of the dude with the camera on the bike :P
@Muhammad Ethan this is no place for spam

We will donate to the cause as we love your videos and use them regularly, thank you for sharing them!!!
Please give us more!!! We crave pain!!! in all seriousness, these are by far the best training videos I've encountered. I realize these videos must be very difficult to make but I cannot tell you how beneficial they are to average cyclist who wants to be great.
Track runner here with s injured hammy here. I enjoyed this session in replacement of my Sunday run whilst watching match of the day
Just donated 15$!! Yes, knee rehab is such a problematic issue. I've been using these videos even if I can't crank the watts. Great videos, good playlists.
The prompts/cues given in this vid are excellent; the coaching tips well placed and spot on. Thanks for sharing!
Just about to give this a blast. Have done the shorter session and loved it. A much more enjoyable way to train. Thanks very much!!
Made a small donation as well, these videos are a joy to watch during trainer sessions.
Just finished the video my wife and I...loved it!!!!! Great job!!! We are training for our first full Ironman, will be doing this one again for sure!!! Outside it's -26C this moorning, but indoors we sweated like it was +26C!!!!
One of the best long distance cycling videos online that's free.
Thanks. A lot for this. I miss going riding in the road. I don’t even own a bike now. But you made me push through at the gym! Greetings from Barcelona!
Good evening everyone. These videos are an alternative for me. I had an accident and my right thumb was amputated. I'm training indoors.
I would love to ride back home in Trinidad, however it feels like every two months you hear of another cyclist getting run over.
I know these videos are old, but I wanted to say thank you anyways. They've been a big help to me and are a huge reason why I've stuck with cycling (and enjoy it!).

Using this for indoor winter Covid training. Nice mix

I have a Spartan Ultra (30+ miles on foot) obstacle course race this coming April and I‘M FULL CONFIDENT that these training sessions will help me conquer the ski slope terrain! No joke!! 😈😈😈👍🏻

Another great workout. I know these are not easy to put together, so THANK YOU!! I will be donating a couple beers worth to the cause.

Love your videos! They have been lifesavers during lockdown.
Great video guys!! Sure beats training in the wind and rain here in Ireland!!
I HATE these video's - they make me work harder than ever before and at 62 YEARS OLD .............they are BRILLIANT :-)
I believe these are the best indoor trainer videos available (at least available over RUclips).
