- Megan Jordan, a former middle school teacher in Henrico County, Virginia, pleaded guilty this week to having sex with her 14-year-old student several times in his bed. The Commonwealth's Attorney said Jordan's DNA was found on the boy's sheets. Jordan could get up to 50 years in prison when she's sentenced. The victim either gave her his home address or she found out where he was living through records provided by the school. Either way it's terrifying. A child should feel safe in their own home and this woman broke that trust and safety by gaining access to that home and getting into bed with him. Even if he did allow this woman inside the house, he's still a victim.

My male World History Teacher started out in an elementary school. He met a young girl & began grooming her, no one knew. When she went into Junior High, he got a teaching position there, too. He had a wife & children!
When the female student went into High School, the teacher got a position at the high school. When the female student was a senior, the teacher divorced his wife.
When the student graduated from HS, she was 18 & married the teacher!
No one had a clue that those two had been carrying on for over 10 years.

@@justaguy-69 The whole thing came out after they were married. Both the former student and the teacher talked about it to relatives, the word got around. Plus, they were seen together around town wearing very distinct matching wedding bands. It was a small town & everyone knew everyone.
When the announcement of their engagement was in the town newspaper & everyone pieced it together, it was super easy to figure out.
Nothing could be done; the girl was no longer a minor & they were married.

I’m just curious who initiated it first. I’m not saying it’s not her fault (it’s obviously her fault cause she’s the adult here) but also as a 14 year old boy, you shouldn’t be doing it with older teachers even if you wanted to. When I was approximate 15 and we moved recently to a new home and the next door neighbor crawled though the window and got in bed with me and slept beside me! I woke up to the feeling of someone next to me and freaked , she got up and crawled back out the window....I just closed the window , back to bed and didn't bother waking my parents upstairs and nothing more came of it except awkwardly meeting her outside after till they eventually moved. Woman are just as capable as men for doing crazy stuff.

I find it disturbing how I have seen comments trying to justify this. One commenter said that the 14 year boy had the time of his life with a fully grown 24 year old female. They also said that its somehow different if a man committed this crime. I fail to see how thats the case. The sicko was literally trying to justify p*dophilia.

There is no reason for a teacher to be at a students home. Teachers need to protect their ethics and teaching license by avoiding the hint of impropriety.
Something I've noticed is, there's not much of an age gap, between the teachers and the kids these days. The teachers are like 22...maybe 23. And the students aren't much younger than that. Back when i was in school (im 44), seems like all my teachers had one foot in the grave 😂.

14 and 22-23 is a huge age gap. I'm in my mid 20s and it's still a huge age gap at the age I am now. A 20 year old is so different mentally than someone in their late 20s. Furthermore, many of these cases involve 25-28 year olds as well.

The age thing plays a small insignificant factor. I had attractive 30 year old teachers the boys just thirsty over. But these teachers and students have something you didn’t have. Constant, personal, private and direct digital communication that spans beyond the restraints of the classroom. You couldn’t DM your teacher at 8:00Pm or got her up on snap. That’s the common factor here.

Theres been several instances I recall individuals, particularly parents or grandparents in their 40's and up referring to people in the 19-23 age range as "babies". Usually in the event of a tragedy, bc those people or victims in such case were somebodies son or daughter. How a parent feels about their child doesn't change over night. I'm 34 and I refer to some college age kids as, kids, just as i did there. It has more to do with the individual and not the actual age. I know some 17 year olds that are more mature and live more like a responsible adult than most adults do, and I know some 30 year olds that still live off their parents and have no accountability. Its all about perspective.
And as such in reference to this comment, should a 19 year old female be criminally charged or morally judged for being attracted to a 17 year old male student? Thats a rhetorical question. But I don't think so, they are practically the same age. She may deserve to lose her job, or maybe not.

She NEEDS to go to prison and serve time. This is not a petty crime by any means and they need to make an example of her. We need a better screening process for all professions working with our children.
How exactly? Most of the time, these teachers don't have a criminal record prior to committing these offenses. So when you run a background check there's no red flags on them. I'd like to see schools implement a higher screening process but at the same time, you can't deny someone a job because you think they might be a criminal when they aren't and your assumptions turn out to be wrong.

The way the law holds women to different standards than men is disgusting, especially when it involves children. This isn't a situation where the teacher didn't know the boys' age, and they slept together. She sought out a 14 yr old minor, whom she's clearly attracted to, and took advantage of him. Despite her charges, she's going to get a slap on the wrist. That's just how it is with female predators. I'm fine with holding women to lower standards, as long as those standards apply to every aspect of their life and rights of American citizenship. But that's not the case, so in the name of fairness and equality, she needs to be held to the same standard as if a man preyed on a 14 yr old girl

Not sure what to say about this. Obviously the Boy had to cooperate and probably had a good time. I was a 14 year old boy once and lusted over several teachers. I agree this was a crime and can’t be tolerated but is it the same with a girl? I just don’t know.

Male teachers are becoming less and less. So you're going to see mostly women getting in trouble for this because there are more women teachers at this point than men.

There’s way more female teachers (I think 2/3) but men commit way more of the crimes against students (about 2/3 of crimes). Men still do this way more. The women ones just get more headlines.

Yep, I've had more female teachers than male teachers. I've had 3 male teachers. The rest or vast majority were female teachers.
14 is young enough to not know what the Teacher is doing, but old enough to choose a different gender and mutilate himself if he wanted, with help hiding it from his parents? Just be consistent people.

No because she is married and even in my teens i knew getting involved with one would most likely end with an irate husband on my tail . Not my idea of fun.
