As usual for these types of tutorials, the explanation of differentiation of airways/waypoints is clear as mud. Why hasn't anyone worked out that these things are what newbies get stuck on? Sick of tutorials which dwell on the really obvious bits that can be worked out with logical thought and then gloss over the critical bits that you can't figure out but need instructions for. Example - 15:11 "press activate, execute" - WHY? You haven't used these buttons before to enter anything, why do you need them now? What do they do?

since the major upgrade i pick the default over the salty version, stil have some stuff they have to change in my opinion. but its progres.

I see you input the reserve fuel into FMC but I didn’t see you add it to the reserve tanks on the weight & balance sheet? Do I not need to do that? Or did you forget
You lost me at the performance page. I dont use external programs so how do i know how much fuel i need? How do i know my reserves? How on earth do i calculate cost index?
you don't need to calculate cost index.. its a given.. it ranges from 1-100 or 1-99... no one calculates cost index
may i suggest a vieuw things, the take off page has 2 pages, in the 2nd page you have to fil oud the wind you get from atis, plus the temp. also on your fmc is a button called vnav, there you can check and change if nessecary the transition hight in the climb stage(1st page), on the 3th page you can click forecast and there you can fil winds and temp on variouse hights during decent that you can find in youre sim brief pdf in the weather page where they put the winds and temps on different heigths on each waypoint, there you go to decent and fil out 4 of them, if you cant find it i can show you, than let me know, also on long flights where you have to ad a lot of waypoints, if you start on a airway, and that airway change into a different airway than dont type the way point, just for example navigraph says: N644, NOLEN, BAKUR, LOKEL, Z21, REDEL. dont enter all the waypoints but N644 and on the next line Z21. than it should automaticly fil in LOKEL for you because the system knows where the Crossway is, saves you some steps
Thank you very much for your input. Actually in order to keep things simple and to the point for the beginners I only focus on the basic setup. Otherwise, things get bit complex for the people who are new to the simulation and the length of the video also increases. Same for entering the route I keep it step by step so that anyone can do it easily. Thank you once again for your time and valuable feedback.

Great video. I'm transitioning from Salty back to the original 747 and I have an issue with "perf Init" section of the FMC. when I hit the soft key for "ZFW" section, I get the weight on the scratch pad but when I go to put in it to fill in the ZFW section, I get an "invalid entry". Is there a reason for that?
Same happened for me, i used the default settings one and it worked

is there anyway to skip configuring the fmc like it was before the update?
For the flight plan you can skip this step by making the flight plan in MSFS. However, for the performance the FMC has to be configured. Thank you
