The 2013 model S Class and the 2013 CLS to me are the greatest designs ever. I don't think I'll ever see a car with a better design than that. Absolutely stunning.

4:47 has got to be my favourite S-Class because it just goes in line with the W124 at the time, and these two cars are my favourite Mercedes models to this day.
You can see the technology getting better at an increasing rate over the generations. Makes you wonder what the S class will look like in another 20-30 years!

Can we just appreciate Mercedes for sharing the livesaving Airbags to other car brands FOR FREE? Mercedes saved literally millions of lifes! Thank God, we have Mercedes!
Merc: everyone gets free airbags cause we care about safety. Tesla: only we can use the charging points cause we don't give a hoot about the environment really.
@@userrotkiv no they dont, they have a lot of charging stations that they integrated to their system, but the ones they build themselves are made specifically to ignore the standarts of charging ports so that only teslas can use them and even with an adapter tesla doesnt let other manufacturers models charge there.
@@kmat31 no they dont, although they try to hide it best they can on their sites, they say that some chargers are put at normal parking spots, though most are tesla exclusive (A non-Tesla car is parked in a Supercharger stall, what should I do? Most Supercharger stalls are reserved for Tesla charging but some stalls allow general parking.) and ofc they tried to flood the google search for that with tesla friendly articles that make it seem like the rest of the automotive world is too slow for tesla, when in reality they just like to test stuff and then implement it, to stop things like, idk... cars randomly catching fire *Wink wink*

Great video. But the 1959 Mercedes wasn't introduced as the "Heckenflosse" (hedge fin) , but the "Heckflosse" (tail fin). Mat at least got the english translation right. 😜
The Mercedes Benz Nürburg looks great! Apart from the special looking pre-s-classes the first generation looks the best I'd say. No plastic, firm shoulderlines and edges and some chrome to round it up🤩

My favorite S-Class is my 1991 350SD, which we bought new. It still looks showroom new, with less than 110K miles on it. The only modification being a modern sound system and all that those now contain. I remember watching the safety videos playing in the showroom, of crash testing and Autobahn driving, 30 years ago:-0

Have a soft spot for the fifth gen S-class as my family has had one for over 10 years and it’s still going strong today
That's great! Even though some people says that a lot of problems with the 221 but IMO I really like that generation apart from the w140..
To be honest I love the 60s & 70s s class they are too elegant and beautiful.
W126 is my favourite - it set the template for MB’s 80s cars, and was always a handsome car.

I have owned 3 generations of S class 1987 420SEL, 1999 S320 and 2003 S430 4 Matic. 0ne of the best and most reliable cars I have ever driven!
