Like always your DIY tutorial maintenance always good. I will be doing this because im hearing the same crunch noise whenever I go over speed bumps. Thanks Danny.
Hi Danny, I recently bought a high mileage(162k miles) civic and your videos have been extremely helpful in taking care of things. So far, I've done the passenger side CV Axle, front sway bar links, valve cover gaskets, vtec solenoid gasket, timing chain inspection cover reseal, valve lash, transmission drain and fill x 2, coolant drain and fill, front brake rotors and pads, rear brake adjustment, power steering leaks, PCV valve, throttle plate cleaning, blower motor, mode actuator, etc. Most of those things were covered under your videos and I want to express my appreciation for your content. While I'm familiar with doing automotive work, I didn't know the 8th gen Civic platform well enough to be able to do things without having some visual representation/reference. Your videos explain the location, torque specs, and procedure in great detail and have been extremely helpful in getting this vehicle back to a running daily commuter condition. Thank you.
High quality video with full and easy-to-follow explanation! Hands down the best Honda repair DIYer! Please do more of these videos!! Was going through the same crunching noise problem on my 8th gen civic. Found your video and learnt a lot. Thanks for the hard work!
love ur videos as always. i am actually about to go trade mine in this week for an escape hybrid but my 8th gen civic has been good to me for how long I drive it and how rough I was with it. your videos will always remind me of all the things about this car I got to know while owning it. thank u.
Hey there Danny ! i am watching your videos for long time now i have a 2010 civic . i wanted to ask if you maybe going to show how to replace engine mounts any time soon best regards.
Great video as always. So do you plan on getting any new vehicles in the near future? I have a Honda Element SC as well and I just don’t want any other vehicle. Hopefully it lasts forever.
Happy Thanksgiving! I'm about to lube the 2009 honda civic si front sway bar bushings BUT I'm curious, why not just replace the links. If the have play, doesn't that mean they won't squeeze the sway bar anymore?
@@2JuanTinajero if it rattles or has play, they’re not expensive and need replacement, mine are still good and noise free, my front struts are next on my list
@@dannysdiygarage Yes because the KYB Excel G-s are twin tube shocks and the Gas a Just are monotube like the OEM ones so the Gas a Just should be better in theory.
My mom has a 04 Civic Coupe and it makes this terrible creaking noise in the rear, especially when it’s cold outside. What other parts would you check besides the sway bar bushings? Happy holidays!
I've heard about that but I wonder what it has in it? Do you know by chance or can you look at your bottle? Rubber is typically best lubed with silicone paste or silicone spray like Danny uses here.
On the can, it says its made for rubber, but not plastic, great question, I plan on replacing these if the noise comes back, this was a way to pinpoint the issue and wasn't going to be a permanent fix, but if it fixes it permanently that's good too.
Either will work, but the 10-80 ft lbs. will be more useful for other jobs, I would also suggest the ANPUDS 1/2-Inch Drive Torque Wrench: amzn.to/3THpwfW
@@amanda_bynes226 if you're buying the 1/2 10-170ftLB also I would recommend the 5-45, if you're only buying one wrench, get the 10-80 ft lb, does that make sense, it just cover a wider variety
My wife has a Fiat 500. The sway bar has shifted to one side causing it to hit the control arm over bumps. The sway bar is above the bottom of the sub frame and they use a star or torque bolt, the bushings cannot be removed and, to make it all just that much more difficult, there’s no central jack point to get the whole front end off the car. I’ve got to use 2 jacks in tandem. This is why I drive Hondas.
I know this is an old vid and you probably know already but looks like your lower control arm for right rear is about to split in half. Better get some duct tape

Would be really cool if you could show how to inspect the suspension wear components of the civic!
I plan on doing more suspension and inspection videos soon.
Love your videos Sir. Thank you! Do you also have a video on how to change Sway bar links. Please and Thank you!
