Hey Kevin, glad you like your truck. I bought a 21 XLT 5.0 myself. First truck I've owned in the 60+ vehicles I've had in my life. I'm surprised how much I like it. I really wanted a higher trim but with all the shortages, none were out there within a two hour drive from me. I was going to upgrade in 23 but Ford in their wisdom started decontenting the truck starting in the 22 model year. In 21, there were LED tag lights, the console cup holders in the rear of the console had the "fingers" to hold cups, the temp knobs had the temp displayed (useful at a glance), the headrests in the XLT had multiple position stays, even the chrome trim on the side of the seat at the seat controls were removed as well as some other items. As far as I can see, they didn't add anything. So while I would like to upgrade to a higher spec trim, some of the things they removed would annoy me after having my 21. Plus prices have gone up quite a bit as well. I would REALLY like bluecruise since I drive from Pennsylvania to Florida about once a month so that would be nice but I just deal and do the 15+ hour drive with one stop for fuel. For just that option, not worth trading up. Keep enjoying your truck.
Most definitely. Got my 5th f150 a fully loaded 2021 XLT. At 60 grand it was plenty enough especially compared to my 05 F-150 stx which I loved. No need for some of the shat on the next option that would've run me 75k. And now like you said they've gone up 🤩😳
I also have a 22 5.0 and I love it. It rides so much better than the 15 I traded in. The only thing I miss is I had to give up navigation and XM radio because of the chip shortage but I hardly miss it with Apple CarPlay which works great. I also don’t miss the auto start stop at all. I also was concerned with the cyl deactivation but I don’t even notice it and you can always switch to sport mode which deactivates it. As for the bed I use a BedRug to protect the bed and just throw in a sheet of plywood If I have to put anything heavy in such as the one ton pallet of wood pellets that it hauls with no problem. Fuel mileage is a little low at 16 but I only have 1,000 miles on it and I used to get 19 with my 15 F150 5.0. I check oil every 500 miles and so far no oil consumption at all. The electronic parking brake does take some getting used to and I think I would reverse it so pushing in puts it on and pulling out takes it off. Overall I’m very happy with mine. I’m also surprised how quiet it is - sometimes I don’t even know if the engine is running. I have a 18 Mustang GT and you always know when that engine is running (in a good way).
@@jasonpgallery That's what I was expecting to get out of mine since it has the 10 speed transmission vs the 6 speed in my 15 plus the cylinder deactivation. I did go for the 3.73 rear so I'm turning more rpms. I haven't tried the eco mode - maybe it makes a bigger difference than I thought. I only have 1,200 miles on it so it is far from broken in yet and there was a lot of idling - learning all the switches and software in the truck.
Kelvin, Been thinking about going to a 2022 F150 myself. Your video is really helpful. What kind of gas mileage are you averaging all around, in town, and on the highway. Noticed any oil consumption , (I read in some years , the coyota engine had this problem) Thanks
Yeah Ford really stepped up styling for both exterior and interior. I just wished they hadn't messed up the v8 with cylinder deactivation. But overall I am very happy with my F150.
Im in El Paso texas. IM USING E85 which Is 50 cent less that unleaded 87 I’m paying 2.49 per galón while the unleaded is 3.00 It’s running great with E85 Trying…
Have u had only oil consumption problem with that truck just wondering cuz I was thinking of getting a new 5.0 cuz my 2020 has oil consumption problems didn't know if gen 4s did or not

My 23 5.0 is getting closer to 22 mpg, I do run mostly highway and keep in eco mode so maybe that’s how.

Cylinder deactivation is the weak link. 2021 and before without it. Only if you are planning to do some small mods
How comfortable is that seat? I am a big guy and my Lariat’s leather seats hurt my upper back.
They are alright. They are on the harder side so you definitely feel it when you get out.

So far so good. They changed out the oil pump gears on this new engine so it seems to be better
