Great review. I have a gocycle and e Brompton already, so am always on the lookout for my next folder. Hopefully the next version will have smart system and belt drive options.
Thank you for the review! My question, I have a trek super commuter 8 with a Bosch 500 W power pack battery. Could I use this 500W battery with this bike? Having two batteries is a draw to getting this bike.
now I own tern folding bike that I pay 250£ sale ... Its a nice ride, light in and out of trains ... will get me from a to z around london ... explain why do i need the assist motor to carry extra weight for additional 3300£ ... that's a massive downgrade in my eyes
E-bicycles might no fit your use cases, but there are plenty of reasons for others to get an e-bike. The assist in generating torque allows elderly folks to more easily use bicycles without tiring out. It allows commuters to not have to sweat a lot in work clothes while getting to their destination. And, most importantly, it really helps flatten out hills in cities that, unlike Central London, are not flat.
Ebikes are literally just the best thing ever. Its good if you don't want to feel over exeted, arrive at your location all sweaty. It does look like the Vektron is a just a reworked Verge. But so far seems worth the cost!
I’ve always found this model a bit of a paradox. Yes it’s capable but it doesn’t fold small and it’s very heavy. Who is it for? Even lifting it into a car is a struggle. There are small non folding bikes that’d do the cargo job and fit a train vestibule at less money and weight . A folded Vektton on a train would be a crush hazard!
In Germany you're only allowed to take bikes on trains with a dedicated bike compartment. Buses and trams do not allow bikes at all. A folded bike counts as luggage and is allowed on any kind of public transportation.
It's a nice bike, but the price is a lot! I just got an electric bike for half the price of this, and it gets me to my work just the same. At the end of the day, it's a bike, and the more the expense, the more likely someone wants to steal your bike, and the more you're going to worry about leaving it anywhere.
What does an electric scooter have to do with an e-bike? In NYC where I ride it’s illegal to ride a scooter in the bike lane. Good luck in the car lanes. I suggest a motorcycle is actually safer than a scooter.
Yep then add in the running costs of that scooter such an insurance. Let's not forget the cost of doing your licence for it in the first place as well as any protective gear.

Fun vid.informative. News we can use. Thank you so much. Happy trails.
🥳🎶
I wish you would tell more about the battery! Is it a lithium iron phosphate? That is the heart of it all so let’s get some info on that please!
*Works great, nice height.*

Yes, your Bosch Powerpack 500 from the Trek would fit this Tern Vektron.
Would love an HS Version for 45 kmh of the S10.
Nice bike, so that all the grand ma's can have fun and commute.
Hi,
What about aftercare access and availability in the UK?
Hi, what’s the main difference between the models other than p7i being a hub and s9 s10 being deralieur?
Typically, it is motor, battery, and drivetrain
What’s the top speed outside the u.k.?
Will pedal assist to 20MPH. After that you’re on your own.
Is this a generation 2 tern vektron s10, 2020?

This is a Gen3, 2021 with the Performance Line motor

@@wermagst Thanks. Is there a size limit for a folded bike to be ‘luggage’?
@@petergilbert72 Don't know for sure, but from experience anything the size of a normal suitcase is fine.
@@wermagst so probably my Brompton folded would be ok, but not a Tern Vektron then….
@@petergilbert72 The Vektron is fine, already tested 🙂

Are you that broke and poor???
@CONFUCIUS-f2x I work for a roads department at the council, so yeah, I'm poor the wages are crap. And I'm getting poorer every day after brexit!
get one while you can
I did. I love it. 😍
Video is informative, but the background music deranges me.
Great electric bicycle but it's too expensive. At the same price you can buy clectric scooter from Italy Askoll es3
Try taking your electric scooter on a train or bus or fitting it in the trunk of your car.
