I just became aware of this machine through a recent post by James Hoffman which described the origin of this machine from a previous failed crowd share of another machine. Thanks for the work flow video. I have been just learning via the Flair pro 2 and like the control it offers.
Thanks for sharing ... question, how do you manage to keep a dry puck? it had never happened to me since i got the machine. I increased the dose, reduced the dose, changed beans roast level/kind/grind size, I used stock decent basket and IMS basket ... nothing seems to work. I understand that this has been discussed before but Diaspora is hopeless, confusing and time consuming. Another question if you allow me ... why dont you use "stop at weight" feature? ... It should work with the decent scale. Thanks again
Utilizing the B Plus (Flair 58) dispersion disk shrinks the headspace and creates the dry puck. Also, as an FYI, Decent is working on a new piece for the group head that will shrink the headspace and make for drier pucks. You're right, I can use the stop at weight feature, but I had issues with the first Decent scale I had where it would appear to be paired, but wasn't actually, and so it would fail to stop. I shouldn't have that issue with this scale, but it's just habit at this point- and not much of a burden. Maybe I'll try starting to use the feature again soon 😅
@@chaya973 no, that's the downside of having a single heat pump. It's possible to do it with two heat pumps, but then you're basically doubling the internals and drastically increasing the price. That's the upside to a traditional double boiler (but that comes with its own whole host of tradeoffs). For home use though it's a minor inconvenience in my opinion
@@joseberardocunha decentespresso.com/coffeecart I bought both the BROR cart and the slightly larger table, and stole the wheel-compatible legs from the cart. You can see the other BROR in the video where our cups are.
ever try to put that stainless steel ground chamber directly to the portafilter? I bet that fit perfectly. so you don't need that 2 extra tools sits on top of your decent
The Hario scale I've had for years and use it for pour over- it has a built in stopwatch for that purpose. The Decent scale syncs up to the espresso machine with Bluetooth, so it's useful for measuring what's going on when pulling a shot. The simple scale came with the espresso machine and we used it until the Decent scale eventually arrived. Now it just gets used for measuring out beans.
@@finder2267 the other machines you click on to start the extraction then click off to stop it like a light switch. The Decent works without the tablet just with the touch button above the group head
@@koruki it does. However, most people buying the machine use it the other way with all of the automation (that is essentially a superauto on steroids.) I own a GS3 MP and I could just throw the paddle all the way to the left every shot. Sure some owners do this but the majority don’t.
2:13 thats a great way to crack your puck lmao

Sounds like the climb on the Matterhorn.
Does it steam milk and make espresso simultaneously?

@@rysean gotcha. I was considering this for a coffee cart but probably not anymore. Thank you for the insight.
Thanks for the video, is the cart custom made or can it be purchased somewhere?
Decent sells a kit for making a cart- you just need to buy the BROR from Ikea as well.
@@rysean Mind saying how to find both Decent kit and which ikea bror you got?
Thanks

did you design the table yourself or did you buy it from somewhere?
The table is one I bought from Ikea, the tabletop is was an Ikea one cut by Decent Espresso, which was sold and shipped from them.

Yes, it fits and you can use it that way. However, it does not create nearly as even of a distribution as the WDT tool does.
@@rysean understandable. have a good day :)
Does this machine have a steam wand temperature probe like the oracle touch? I saw you used a external gauge that's why I asked.
I don't believe so. It measures the temperature of the steam leaving the wand, but not the milk itself.
Did you just pick a random coffee without dialing in?
No, I already had that one dialed in well enough.
Looks like a science experiment not pulling a shot of espresso 😁
If you ever get into making your own espresso, you’ll learn that pulling shots IS a science experiment
Why do you use 3 different scales? I'm pretty new to this

mikor már annyira nyomi vagy ,hogy 2 órád van
That just does not look fun to me. It lacks all of the feel and makes you dependent on screens and automation.
Vs what? A on off switch? Lol
Please elaborate.
