Even if it took using in-game IDs, fail RPing, and completely inexcusable circumstances that cannot explain how they naturally figured out the case. Not that it matters anymore with how long ago it was but I hope GTA RP servers start cracking down on these things soon. Ruins the experience for criminals.

Cops tend to ignore actual sightlines because of the 3rd person camera (like seeing over solid walls that realistically, you cannot, just to "get an ID".) - so it was pure metagaming on their part.
