    Love this. I would add two things. 1. Cover your transmission lines with a plastic bag so no dirt gets inside. 2. Use QD Electronic Cleaner instead of break cleaner. Transmissions hate other fluids, even small amounts and QD leaves no residue. Use the QD to clean the crap out of the inside of that block and all components prior to assembly, and spray some on a lint free cloth to wipe the ends of the lines prior to installation. If even a speck of dirt gets inside your transmission, it could cause catastrophic failure. Pretend your are in a clean room when dealing with transmission guts.

      @@TheWorldCruisers Well, I can tell my experience that once the factory torque converter is on its last legs, the temps will rise from the ignorant factory temp of 190 to 220 and beyond. I bought my truck used, 16' 1500 "HD"; First pull with the trailer after I bought it, It would not shift out. Got worse and worse the further I got, by the time I got off of te interstate it was in second gear to maintain 55mph. 67000 Miles. I have owned several Fords well over 100k and over 30 years old on a couple, never had to do more than change a water pump.

    Excellent video, I am still disgusted with Chevy setting their trucks up to fail like this. I am already on my second tranny, about to replace AC condenser as it has the notorious leak all of them Will end up with. Being as I am going to loose tranny fluid as the Condenser is also shared with the transmission cooler (another genius idea to sell parts), I am going to nip this in the bud; damn thing gotta last until I can afford to ditch it. I still feel like 165 degrees is rather high for no load. I do not see a point in that O-ring on the "pill" wonder if that would shave a few more degrees off to have a slight trickle of flow.

    • @TheWorldCruisers
      @TheWorldCruisers  4 месяца назад

      Thank you! Yeah, these trucks were definitely not put together very well…. My transmission went out in December 1.400 Miles away from home… the torque converter went out and took the transmission with it. The mod helps but the real problem is the torque converter and the factory TCU tune. Best economical way to fix the transmission issue is to swap out the torque converter with the ctsv or the ZL1 one which doesn’t need tuning. But would recommend to get your TCU tuned anyways. Most shops will know what I’m talking about.

    • @alristitov
      @alristitov 4 месяца назад

      @@TheWorldCruisers I actually do not know what TC was used, the paperwork I got after using warranty to get it fixed.. is quite vague and I had to fight like hell to get it from the idiots. I need to take care of the heat though, I can tell a drastic difference as it heats up, which takes right at 40 mins to reach 196.

      The truck was doing great and the transmission temp never got high until last week after a 5,000 mile trip which was because of the Torque Converter going out and it took out the transmission in the process. So my recommendation is to do the mod or updated GM thermostat and change your Torque converter to a ZL1 or CTVS one.

    Thanks for this! If I make this change now, will it help in the long run, or has serious damage already been done and it is too late. I swear I've had this transmission issue since I bought the truck new in 2018, but it was rather subtle so I didn't understand the extent of the problem.

    • @TheWorldCruisers
      @TheWorldCruisers  4 месяца назад

      It might help with the temperature but honestly sounds like your transmission will go anyways. Best thing I would recommend is have the torque converter swapped out for a ZL1 or CSTV one and have a transmission shop flush or check out your transmission. The factory torque converter usually starts going bad because of the factory tcu tune and ends up taking out your transmission along with it. Ours went out this past December even though the proper maintenance was done and I had this mod. Temperatures never got hot until it finally just went out . And it was real sudden.

      Don’t believe so.. I’ve only heard of problems with 2014-2018 year models.

      @@TheWorldCruisers4.3 shares the trans cooler with the radiator so you’ll never get the temps down because of that!😡 I will install a separate cooler just for the trans!

      It was until Last December… torque converter went bad and took out my transmission, so I would also recommend to do the torque converter as well. You can get an OEM ZL1/ CTSV and it will work.

    So tired of seeing these videos. They’re garbage. Instead of buying a bypass kit from superior solutions you flip the thermostat and have now blocked your bypass.

      @@TheWorldCruisersbut you show the pull flip. If I did this after watching your video and my trans mission locked up. I’d be coming after you because it’s just plain stupid. Don’t even show it because it’s idiotic.

      @@ngirardo86 I understand your concerns, and I'm sorry to hear you're frustrated. The video was intended to offer a simple solution for those who might not have access to a bypass kit. However, I appreciate your point about potential issues and the importance of proper installation. I'll take your comments into consideration for future content. Have a good day.
