Cannot actually believe Eleven passed me by when they had so many links with a lot of my favourite artists. They were ridiculously talented, melodic and unique. R.I.P Natasha. There’s no else like Alain & Natasha.
Met these two with Jack Irons at an outdoor gig in Berkeley in ‘91. Blown away to this day- asked Alain: Prince and LED Zeppelin and some funk? He said yes! One of my top tens, thanks for posting.
@@jollyrigger1560 He was/is, right. YOU have a problem placing commercial success ahead of artistic talent. I have 1,000's of LP's and CD's; have worked with bands and artists. 11 was held in the greatest esteem by musicians the world over. This LP is in the TOP TEN by anybody e-v-e-r! Period.
@@jollyrigger1560 Here's an eclectic Top Ten for you, NOT in any order: *ELP: Brain Salad Surgery *OSIBISA: Woyaya *11: Awake In A Dream *MEN WITHOUT HATS: Pop Goes The World *FLOCK: Inside Out *THE BEATLES: Revolver *YES: Fragile *HAWKWIND: Doremi Fasol Latido *NEWSBOYS: In The Hands Of God *JEAN-LUC PONTY: Imaginary Voyage To narrow it to only ten is tough as hell. But these ten hold up and have imagination and brilliance in every single track. Most you will not ever have heard, sadly.
@@jollyrigger1560 of course that's not a fair comparison. The who, Stones, Zeppelin, etc. are incredible but they're merely humans, and I guarantee none of those people would be so bold to put themselves ahead of these legends. Alain and Natasha are simply over your head. the melodies he throws away would pass for many an artist's best work. Their music was so daring and polished it attracted the very best artists of the last 30 years. Their artistic integrity scared off the skin deep listeners who equate mainstream radio play with true greatness. Alain Johannes is the most underrated musician in modern history and Natasha was a musical anomaly to be admitted to a conservatory at the age of four, consistently able to nail three different complex melodies simultaneously. It would have been four, but she was only born with two hands. People like that absolutely belong to their craft and you can hear the unapolagetic sincerity in every single measure of their work. Consider yourself blessed to have the experience.
Message to you !!!!! Natasha you and Alaine together are incredible melody finders....natasha my hero female melody writer.... "took me for a ride" she wrote is just the best melody she ever found..(not on thisalbum) look it up & listen...its incredible!!
honestly there is so much lost to compression on yt and spotify, hearing the CD quality audio is like hearing for the first time. It's hard to believe what they were able to fit into their mixes.
A great album showing how this band evolved. It was produced in 1991, and has the hallmarks of that early 90's richness. I particularly like Down, and Message to You.

The greatest band no one knows about
Ednaswap...That's the greatest unknown band. Also from LA about the same time.

Absolut geile Band mit tollen Liedern...
Toll gesungen...
The band with the finest sense of melody after The Beatles. Period. Best mix between rock and pop.
Eleven is good, but you're placing them above the Who, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Rush, Pink Floyd? You have a drug problem.
