Cynic was one of the coolest bands to come out in the 90's who took elements of Death and Progressive metal and made it into something completely different, weird, and very cool. 'Focus' by Cynic is an amazing/awesome/very cool CD/Album. Yes, Also 'Veil of Maya' is a very cool song! Highly Recommended.

The metal fans maybe but not the prog/experimental listeners cynic wasn't your average normal metal band and they were beyond their time and to a certain extent still are but back then they did get booed while touring with cannibal corpse and all which is sad and ignorant... Cynic is a fantastic band and should be appreciated for their hard work.
I heard they got boo'ed by the Cannibal Corpse fans. I'm glad to see that there wasen't really any of that in this Video. Cannibal Corpse are basically the most overated pile of piss in Death Metal.
Yeah... Too bad it needs some person to control the pitch (though there are some varieties that recognize the pitch) and they want to remain a four piece band on stage. I'm actually pretty sure that the Vocalist Mr. Masvidal uses now actually can have a Vocodereffect controlled by the pitch of the Inputvoice....

And FYI their music is described as Progressive/Jazz/Fusion/Metal, not whatever you called it. Don't like it? Then move along if you cannot appreciate their brilliant technicality.

Wow! Cynic toured with Cannibal Corpse? Would have liked to have been there. Saw Cynic in May of '08. Simply Amazing.
