    I didn't want to make video content, and I hated making the first video… and then it got surprisingly fun! The RUclips community feels like how the blogging community used to be.

    I used to watch you all the time and with the skills you taught me I was doing 15k a week on my website. Now I am happy to have a hundred bucks a week. I see you have 200k subscribers and only a couple thousand views per video and it just validates what I am experiencing. Fortunately when times were good I invested well and don’t worry about sales online anymore. I am impressed that you continue to press on even after your partner bailed on you. It’s a changing world

      My other blog went from 75,000 page views a month to zero, literally, thrown off Google. This business model is just not viable and these other strategies are bandaids, IMHO. Going to be tough to make any real money going forward, time invested versus return not worth the trouble.

  • @fishingladies8663

    Interesting video. A blog post getting 10,000 page views should generate $250 or so, based on your $30/1000 premise. That is pretty much what I see. Does a video getting 10,000 views generate that income? Certainly not with ads, but affiliate and related sales? Personally, I find that my blog drives RUclips views as opposed to the other way around. Your conversion rates on RUclips videos are better than mine. I do agree that a mix of both is the best approach.

    • @Jd7172g
      @Jd7172g 3 месяца назад +3

      I tend to achieve about $10 per 1,000 views on RUclips. That's roughly half ad revenue and half affiliate on a heavily product-focused niche. I used to do $70 per 1,000 (and $100+ in November/December) on the website of the same niche so blog views are definitely more valuable in that direct way. But I do agree with Ricky that RUclips views are more valuable overall, the difficulty is you need to be able to monetize them via a good product/service offering which requires skill, so it takes a more strategic approach.

    • @IncomeSchool
      @IncomeSchool  3 месяца назад +1

      You build a lot more rapport with video than with blog content. If you have something to sell, and even for affiliate marketing, I find video content to be far more valuable than blog content. BUT, I also find that having my own website with content is also really valuable.
      I will always prefer to send people to my website than to another platform. With RUclips, I can do both pretty well. I can get the earnings from a view on RUclips and then get earnings from a view on my blog when I send them over. And, those viewers tend to trust me more than other blogs they read so they're more likely to follow my recommendations, which can earn me even more on my website.

      @@IncomeSchool Interesting. So, it sounds like for the RUclips model to work, best to have a product to sell as opposed to making money from ads and affiliates. Also, it sounds like you are done with blogging as far as driving traffic.

    • @IncomeSchool

      Blogging is still a valuable part of a content marketing model, but all by itself it's not a great strategy right now.

    should use paid ads with a miniscual daily budget of 2 -5 $. This helps the channel to monetize faster

      It can also cause you to grow the wrong audience of you’re not really careful. But if you use the right parameters for your ad campaign then it can be effective.

      I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure watch time and subscribers from paid ads don't count towards the minimum monetization requirements, so there's no point. Like Ricky said it'll just feed you the wrong audience.

      @@Jd7172g Subscribers form Ads count but watch time from Ads doesn't. However getting 1,000 subs is WAY harder than getting 4,000 organic watch hours. I had a channel in 2022 with over 25,000 watch hours and 800 subscribers and still could not monetize with Ads. Also traffic from the ads can click on other videos which then leads to watch time that counts towards the 4,000 watch hour requirement.
