I am finally now replacing my broken Badger 5 that has been KO for years. Like yours, it would trip the gfci now and then. Eventually it would pop immediately when switched on. Then it would just leak if used after cleaning it. So we just don't use that sink. But, the dishwasher goes into it and it is obvious I can't ignore it anymore. Getting the 1 HP to replace it as I prefer to put as much scrap as I can in it. Great video!
I was wondering mostly about what looks like paper towels going in it. Not really concerned about safety of it. More concerned about damaging your unit, clogging it or your pipes. I once put artichokes in my garbage disposal (Badger 5) and ended up needing to rent an electric drain auger to unclog all the way out to the street.
I bought this disposal to replace my older ise disposal. I never liked it. It was so quiet you did not know if it was on which was very dangerous. It would not let water down so I would have to hold the rubber flange open so water could get to it. My sink was always full of water until I would hold the flange open to allow the sink to drain. I am buying a ise badger xp 3/4 hp.
Thank you. I was going to hardwire onto the load side of a GFI and run a switch leg into a box with a switch off of that and over to the unit. How does the air switch work? Do you have a link?
horrible test. The sound of spaghetti outside of the disposal is meaningless. In rder to get a real sound test you need to have everything in the hole. Then turn on the disposal and time the sound as well. noting disposal sound during grind and after grind is done. Come on man, you are a "test lab" lol
@@aaronstestlab I would if I was claiming to be a lab. There's a reason I out trouble shoot the engineers that developed the machinery I work on. Its not rocket science. you can use what you learned in 7th grade science. But... Let me get this straight. I pointed out an obvious flaw in your test and your come back is, "Waste time doing a better job than me"? awesome.

Great video!
I wasn't sure mine was even working because it was so quiet compared to every disposal I've had before. Thanks for the video, sounds just like it!
never thought about the logo alignment, gonna do that when I install mine! Thanks for giving me the courage to tackle this project.
Nice video! Something helpful: Strain relief from old unit fits and works great, no need to change it out.
Yeah, as long as the mounting system is the same there’s no reason to not reuse the old one. A lot of extra work for no reason
Awesome demo and installation, our new construction didn't get a disposal so we've been looking into installing one. This one seems like the one!
Your builder would have left out the kitchen sink if he thought he could get away with it.
@@HawkGTboy trust me, we realized how true that was!
That compost was full of stuff that should never go down the garbage disposal!
I'll alert the local safety patrol
@@aaronstestlab you have 2 stage grinding. Just don't put the stringy stuff in it. Everything else is fine.

Too quiet...that's a different take on things
Can you post a follow up on how it’s going one year later?
It's going fine, works great
Evolution series is the best
Spent 65$ for a badger and past on this 200-390$ version, but everyone says not to because it’s not as loud . I couldn’t tell from this video
How do you add a video here???
Wow, you can hardly even hear it running over the noise of the sink!
Is the drain exit location the same as the old style?
Yes
Forgive my ignorance but how do you turn this on and off?
The outlet it's plugged into is switched. If it's hardwired, most people will use an air switch.
Thank you. I was going to hardwire onto the load side of a GFI and run a switch leg into a box with a switch off of that and over to the unit. How does the air switch work? Do you have a link?
I looked up the air switch. Got it. Thank you.
Why would you use whole spaghetti for your volume test. All the noise is the noodles against the drain outside of the unit.
my god, people will find anything to complain about
They just need to be more generous with the rotor design its a little too passive
Whether a Ford is included depends on how you purchase the disposer. I did not want a Ford because mine is hardwired from the switch.
No cord , deal breaker for me
Silicon dry, next day what?
Then use it

You should make a video and show us how it's done

It’s a RUclips video on a garbage disposal. Not that serious
