Thanks for this great information… as I mentioned before, Clear Prop! Is one of my favorite manufacturers; the DH Comet will look great with the Supermarine Schneider Cup racer I recently picked up (from AMP), wow, a Super Frelon, what a great subject! If the Frogfoot is as good as their recent MiG 23 we’re in for a real treat. The Polish companies IBG & ARMA have been releasing very beautiful kits over the last few years, any news about their upcoming new releases? The new (full interior) Stuart from MiniArt has also caught my attention… I just got their 1:48 Thunderbolt (beautiful kit!!) and noticed on the side of the box ‘made in Poland’. I wish their was more 1:35 WW2 Japanese armor state of the art releases from anyone…

The Frogfoot is truly tempting, with the ukrainian markings👍🏻.
Oh, Arma Hobby i forgot! Thanks for the hint, i will check them as well.
And you got another important point, where are the model kits with japanese markings??

Chris, I’m with you on the Clear Prop UAV. I wish their DH88 Comet was in 1:48, then I could use up a lot of red paint that is just sitting around. Speaking of using up a lot of product, look at that AK rail-shunter image, it looks like it wears 3 kilos of weathering products. Just sayin’ 🤷‍♂️

I don't mind a DH88 in any scale! I live minutes away from Shuttleworth in Bedfordshire, UK where a DH88 lives and flies regularly. Gorgeous to look at (and yes, I've even touched it when it's in the museum). I know, sad in one so old. Anyway the old Airfix kit is very "tired" and I'd love a new tool.

About the Rail Shunter, meanwhile i read on the boxart it says: Wagon not included.
The wagon is like 70% of the image...🤦🏼‍♂️

What is going on with Tamiya?! I purchase mostly Tamiya for thier fit and finish, but their lack of new releases is disappointing.

I was hoping they will maybe announce something during the year?

Of all those manufacturers, I like Hobbyboss kits the best.

I havent build many of their kits but they definitely have some kits which are on my overall list

I am a fan of Tamiya and am disappointed in them, such a low kit count. Working on my third kit now. In your opinion what manufacturer/kit should I try next?

    • @chrisveya7556

I expected 1 or 2 more from Tamiya, but maybe during the year they will announce some surprise.
Eduard has kits in different price ranges for different skill levels, Airfix, Revell or ICM are also great to start and not too detailed and/or too difficult.

I agree about those manufacturers. I just built the 1/72 airfix A-4 Skyhawk and it was a great kit. Fit was very good with basically no significant gap filling. A lot of the manufacturers have really stepped up in the last ten years and started making some excellent quality kits. You just have to watch out for reboxings of 40 year old tooling. Whenever I see a kit I think I want to build I check Scalemates to see how old the tooling is and read some reviews. I got burned years ago buying a couple Tamiya kits (F-16 and F/A-18) that were actually reboxed Italeri models!
