Removing CD player and stuck CDs from 08 Ford Expedition EL

- CD players in some Ford models have a bad habit of not ejecting CD's or not even showing they are loaded. I had 4 disks loaded and it showed no disk. This video shows you how to remove the CD player so you can then remove the stuck disks.
For all the haters... don't just watch, LISTEN. Yes the camera angle sucks for a minute but the instructions are still there and will get you through. He gives a tip about the 5-volt servos that he successfully demonstrates, removes the first CD, and then states clearly that he couldn't figure out removing the remaining CD's, so not like you needed the camera angle at that point anyway. Then he states he reassembled the radio and plugged it back into his car and it worked again. This he proves at the end of the video with a fully visible demonstration. I thought it was helpful. Hey! Thanks! All I needed was the info to get the cover off the radio. Then I saw 1 CD not aligned. I moved it slightly and it popped right into the correct position.
Helpful vid. Going to try this to my F150 radio. But who is to say this won't all happen again on you.
Could just avoid homemade CDs as that's normally the ones that get jammed.
No guarantee unless you replace the entire thing.
I had a 6 cd changer and they suck. i only use them for fm and aux (if included) and they always get stuck and fail plus they even are impossible to remove. But you are the first person to actually get them out.
No, he's not. There are other videos on a 08 Taurus or Sable (same car).
The homemade burns get stuck the most often. Don't know why.

My taurus doesn't have that bottom removable piece. How did you get the face plate off?

Can look for 08 Mercury Sable, too. It's exactly the same components as the Taurus.

I have had 4 Cs's stuck in my player after I disconnected my battery cable to replace the alternator. Now the CD player just says "initializing" and won't do anything. I'm gonna try this & see if it fixes the problem. Thanks for posting the "inside view" of the cd player.
radio resets if power is loss for 5min. after power is restore to radio it resets.

You lost me when you hooked up the 5v charger. What does that look like?
If I remove the cd from white band,will radio work without reinstalling the cd as I never use?
you do not need a new radio, its just jammed. disconnect your hot cable (red) for 5 min.then re connect. your radio will reset.
My radio only said cd error
what is the size of the screw heads? can't find anything that fits.
But an eyeglass screwdriver set. That's the kind you need.
They make kits with at least a dozen sizes.

Why remove radio? why buy a new radio? Just disconnect power from radio for 5 min. by removing power cable from battrie (red) for 5 min. then reconnect power cable to battrie radio resets. if a cd is stuck it will eject after power is restored.
It would have been helpful if you kept the camera focused on the changer and not your wrist. I still don't know what you did.
