Hey Joe, I have had Presonus Studio One Artist for 12 months, this video has helped me soo much, and should have been made before day 1 of this product hitting the market! Literally all the other videos you've made that I have saved as well, about latency, etc. are great and needed, this in my opinion, should have been made way prior and in my opinion is insanely more important of a topic to someone who is setting up a home recording studio than how to add FX, Virtual Instruments, Buses, Looping, etc. If you're I/O aren't setup correctly, or at all than what are ya doing. I'm a drummer with real drums, I'm using a UA Volt 476p with 4 inputs! This has had me banging my head against a wall for a year! So I digress, Thank you for finally making this video! Much appreciated! 😊

I use Studio One 6 at church to run stems for worship songs through a Volt 476P. The I/O setup allows me to group multiple stem tracks together, creating 4 different subs routed to 4 different outputs: all guitars to1, all keys to 2, all loops, FX, BGVS, etc. to 3, and click and guide to 4. These outputs go into 4 channels on the worship center mixer for playback/monitor during live performance with the band. Also like the fact that different I/O configurations can be saved (export) and loaded (import); that's a handy feature.

Thanks Joe! Can you please make a video on how to best approach recording without a click? All songs I like the most are recorded without a click and I think it make music sound more alive and natural.

Thank you joe, the i/o can be useful I set it up as a virtual amp selection where i put all my virtual amps on inputs like amplitube and guitar rig and others and export the i/o setup then inport it on new songs to get my guitar sounds. I have a simple 2i2 2 in 2 out but i have that amp i/o with 10 inputs all actually pointing to input 1

Joe, thanks for this. Definitely sheds some light on these basic concepts. BUT!
I am super new to the whole DAW thing. Using Studio One 4 which is more than sufficient for my current needs. Here is my physical chain and setup:
Win 11 Pro, 40GB RAM, m.2 and SATA SSDs
My audio interface is a MFX unit from VALETON, the GP200
I have a set of powered 2.1 speakers connected to the PC
I am able to get SO4 to see the GP200 mfx unit. When monitoring, the bars show strong input levels.
    But 2 problems:
I cannot seem to RECORD the signal from the GP200 interface into SO4.
I get NO AUDIO out to my speakers.
Using an older Boss GT1 mfx unit on an older build of this same machine, I was able to successfully record and hear playback or monitoring through my speakers.
But now on this more sophisticated GP200 mfx interface, I cannot record and cannot hear playback or monitoring through my speakers.
HELP! Please! I know this should be simple, but I cannot figure it out. Audio for all other Windows functions is 100% normal.
For comparison, a version of CAKEWALK DAW i am using is able to both record from the mfx GP200 and also I can hear playback/monitoring from my PC 2.1 speakers.
    TIA....cheers!

Hi Joe, I have always found the I/O setup for Presonus interfaces straight forward. What I struggle with is the Universal Control software and how it ties in with the interface function and Studio One software. Is there any chance of you doing a tutorial on the Universal Control software?

I'm using studio one v6 and studiolive 32r. My inputs in universal control are set to analog and my outputs in Studio One are set yo mains. I can record and playback with no problem. I want to utilize aux 1 fof a mix when I'm tracking. But I don't understand about switching my inputs in universal control to USB AND selecting digital sends. I have been on support with Presonus. Could you fo a video about this. Thank you Joe, youvbeen a big help on so many other matters.

Joe, can you please do a video on how you mix your regualr speaking videos like this. I'm sure the main reason your voice sounds great is because God gave you a great voice, but I'm guessing you also process it too. I want my speaking voice to sound as good as possible, but I don't have a deep, resonant voice like you.
Thanks you all you do for us.

One microphone isn't stereo. Stereo means two signals. A microphone is only one signal, so it can't be stereo. Use a mono track.

My Windows system is set to 48 kHz with its audio interfaces (use ASIO driver), but SO1 only shows 44.1 kHz and cannot be changed. When loading projects with 48 kHz, an error is often displayed and the audio does not play. Then I have to change the audio interface and when I switch back it works, even if only 44.1 kHz is displayed. Is there anything I can do about this?

    • @lordcannon2020

@@patrickm.4469 I usually use the built-in Realtek ALC1150 or output the signal via the nVIDIA GP104 or JBL Quantum 610. Depending on the process (stream, etc.), the ASIO4ALL, the generic ASIO driver from FL Studio or the generic ASIO driver from Steinberg is used. In other DAWs (Ableton, Samplitude, Reaper, Cubase) these devices are addressed at 48kHz.

My Motu interfaces can all be used at once because they show up as one giant interface. All four of my rack Motu's plug into one PCI-E card that combines them before WIndows sees them.

Joe, I have an analog 8-channel mixer and an Audiobox 96. Which interface would you recommend to get the best out of both?

    • @HomeStudioCorner
      @HomeStudioCorner 20 дней назад

Depends on what the mixer can do and what you want to do. If the mixer doesn't have 8 individual outputs, then a different interface won't help, since the mixer only has stereo outputs. If it was me, I'd get rid of both and use a studiolive mixer

    • @constantinevlachos9155

    Thanks for the guide, Joe.
Quick question to the Presonus team - what are you guys smoking, what's wrong with your marketing and overall messaging? How come Version 7 is already pirated and cracked, can be downloaded and explored by anyone, but for licensed users at this time you only posted a price update and gave us ZERO features and reasons to switch to version 7?
I don't get what you are thinking at all, you should have been marketing the version 7 (if it's any good) at least a month prior to release, and the price update should be a final video of the series, so people can judge if the changes in price and new features are worth it. But now, when version 7 is out there in the wild, and you are yet to tell us about a single new feature of it, you just don't look good in this situation, guys.
